I'm Gen Z and 19 years old, but from the very start, I was a fan of realistic cinema. I started watching gangster movies with The Godfather, but it was so old and slow-paced, and I was kind of overhyped for it because it has the highest rating ever. It didn't offer me what I was expecting, so I skipped it and watched modern crime movies like The Irishman, Goodfellas, and The Departed. They developed a taste in me, and I again rewatched the Godfather trilogy, and it is still the greatest movie for me. Then I discovered Martin Scorsese from The Irishman and watched his prime movies like Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and Casino, and became a fan of Robert De Niro and Martin. As Al Pacino was a big highlight of gangster cinema, I watched his Scarface, and again it was brilliant. So now, I think who doesn't like realistic cinema can't be a good cinema lover, and if you want to start watching gangster movies, start with modern ones and then go back to classics.
I had not watched many gangster movie except gangs of wasseypur but really excited to explore Hollywood gangster movies. Thank you for the recommendations.
