My children, to sons, 2 years & 8 years old respectively were kidnapped by their father in 1995 from Namibia. I only managed to see my 2 year old once again when he was 4 years old for a period of a week. Thereafter, only again when he was 15 years old. My eldest 12 at the time was sent back to me with a statement that he (the father) no longer wanted him as he was a problem child. I had no resources at the time. He, the father falsified there names & obtained all documents illegally to enter Germany claiming we were divorced. I missed so much of their lives. I am still traumatised to this day.
I’m so sorry that you went through that, no wonder you are traumatised bless you. I hope you manage to find some peace ❤️
I remember this story. My prayers go out to you, and Sam.
From Namibia 🇳🇦
This boy is lucky to have such a badass family behind him. As a mother myself, I cannot imagine what this lovely lady went through.
NEVER go to man in the beginning stages, country, town or two houses away. Man has to come to you, show interest in you, care about you being on safe ground, period.
I met women who move/migrate for a man. That to me is always a red flag.
Therezumee My parents, especially my father (born 1910 ) told me only once: A man has always to find his way to a woman he claims to love, always, no exception, no matter how far....Since I`m an older person I can only state he was right and so are you.
You are so true… I don’t understand how now and days these women get flown out to different places to meet a man they barely know and some get killed too and never make it back home. They say flown out is a new trend but I want follow that trend….
Ah I watched this documentary the other day somewhere! Its CRAZY! Her brothers are awesome!
I am Mexican, and I am sorry this happened to you. I am a single mom of 5, and can’t imagine the pain you went through. I celebrate your family being complete now, and safe and sound in England. (I adore England, by the way!)
I would think there's enough evidence to sue the family for harboring a criminal.
This is the result when you are blinded by "love".. i cannot comprehend people who go to a different country for a man/woman they dont know well
She seemed very naïve, thinking “nobody would take a baby away from his mother”
That is bad enough but then, without knowing them yet, you add a baby to the mix, it is my opinion that almost 100% of crimes begin with bad decisions.
I would of done a DNA test to make sure it was my baby that I got back. He is an evil man capable of anything. My heart goes out to her and her baby. 😢
i actually thought that too but Daniel had someone (Sebastian) that was going tolove him and look up to him, a narcissist dream so I don't think the baby wasever in danger.
What a crazy story but kudos to the Lowry's. They are one incredibly family.
Understand. After my son was born, we were kidnapped by my abuser. I was locked in basement being tortured & drugged for 18 months. I escaped with nothing to an abuse center in the middle of the night. The doctors said they’d never seen anyone(me) so close to death & survive. We were granted an IFP & Victim Protection Program. My son has delays from abuse & neglect. I struggle with permanent physical damage, trauma, scared of everyone but know how to put on a good front when necessary. I don’t have a family, just good friends & church community.
@@FLBeautyQueen I'm so sorry this happened to u. I'm glad you have friends and your church around. Stay strong!
@@FLBeautyQueenoh my I am so happy you were able to get out and escape. I am so sorry this made me crying reading this! I would love to be your friend. I haven’t been thru what you have but I am a nurse I have been hurt by my entire family after adopting a baby of a different color. I am married we love love love our miracle little girl who is 7 now. I had to make my family from my friends but let me tell you I have some great friends who love my child so so so much. So I don’t know what to even say to help because I sure can’t say I been in ur shoes but I am a great listener and nursing in mental health has made me a great listener and friend to all. I appreciate and love my friends who didn’t throw me away like my family had done due to adopting my beautiful newborn baby who I just saw take her first breath. I held her first. I snuggled with my baby first. I cherished being a mother so very much and still do. She is my absolute everything and being brown isn’t a crime. It isn’t a sin to adopt and give a baby who has no chance in life before she was even born by me being able to make sure I protect her from all these people have such hate in their hearts and souls. I miss my family I thought I knew for 35 years when I last could be apart of their lives. It hurt me made me not trust anyone and made me feel like everyone but I hated my new gorgeous daughter I prayed and prayed for.
I'd have the rescued baby dna tested. I wouldn't put it past this guy to have swopped babies with someone/hospital/whatever. She said he loooked nothing like the baby that was kidnapped. As a Mom, I know how much babies' looks can change in a short space of time, but you never know in a situation such as this.
The police usually do them automatically. Usually when the child is rescued they automatically go straight to the hospital for a FULL check over and log of their EXACT condition when found for evidence in potential future trials. Part of that DOES usually include doing full DNA tests of BOTH parents. If they passed away then the police use the next of kin and relatives. And they'll go as far back as they need to. They'll search far and wide if necessary. There's case's from decades ago where children were mistakenly handed back to the wrong parents, usually to the wealthier more stable family. Which sadly means sometimes when they didn't know they tried to opt for the parents who had the most to offer a child hoping they'd get the best life possible to protect them and recover from any trauma. It would hopefully give them an easier start with many more opportunities. They weren't just heartless before DNA testing.
I consider you the perfect example of a Momma Bear!! Im so proud of you. As a grandmother now i would have done the same thing for my child!! Sebastian-love and respect your great mother!! ❤🙏💖
Having a child is a quick sure way to find out what kind of Man you’re actually with!
For anyone who doesn't know, his behavior at the start of the relationship, the good treatment, the gifts, the elaborate treatment, is called "love bombing." Its not the usual period that many new couples experience, often called the "honeymoon" period, but its when the man (usually) is way over the top with love, attention, gifts, in an overwhelming way, but he knows its not going to last, because he doesn't actually care for her, he creates the fantasy to later trap her in the relationship. Many men use a child to really lock her down, but other men, who are more narcissistic, will often see the baby as a rival of sorts, & he wants all the woman's attention.
Yes! I’m lucky in that I’m autistic, so getting this much attention is an immediate turnoff for me. A lot of women I know have been taken in by this- it’s not fighting fair, bc your brain will produce way more oxytocin, which is very easy to become habituated/addicted to.
Understand. After my son was born, we were kidnapped by my abuser. I was locked in basement being tortured & drugged for 18 month. I escaped with nothing to an abuse center in the middle of the night. The doctors said they’d never seen anyone(me) so close to death & survive. The police & courts reunited us. We were granted an IFP & Victim Protection Program. My son has delays from abuse & neglect. I struggle with permanent physical damage, trauma, scared of everyone but know how to put on a good front when necessary. How do we recover from this terrible period in our lives caused by a monster mother out of jealousy?
He used the fact that she was an illegal alien to keep Sebastian, what a monster. He almost definitely took another baby to replace Sebastian & gave his mother the child , Her grandson.
What a brave dedicated mother Sam is, Bless her.
to have people, who fight for you so hard... this boy is so loved...
This mom was sooo lucky by not just her family, but with all the FBI, the police in Mexico , and in the USA. This happens a lot, but mostly not with this happy ending. I watch a movie , base on a true story “not without my daughter” with Sally Field. That mom fight with all her life, in a different country , where she didn’t speak the language, to get her daughter out of the country. I wish all the best to all this moms and dads too, that are suffering without their child❤️❤️🙏🙏
“Not without my daughter”! Yes. Good movie depicting a real story! Definitely relates to this story.
When a story begins with a 19 year old woman saying she had met a guy at a BAR? Disaster….
Amazing powerful story of a mother’s love for her child and what her parents and siblings love would do. Sebastian is now able to grow up in this loving devoted family 🥰🙏✝️💙
LOVE is how you grow together! 2 weeks on a vacation is Infatuation
That was an horrendous ordeal for any young mother, I’m delighted with the outcome and that family is what families are about.
The psychologists suggestion to be combative and aggressive in tone with a raging narcissist seemed, to me, to be a very dangerous tactic. He could have easily flown into a rage and harmed the baby. I would have imagined a gentler 'ego stroking' tactic would have been safer.
No it is not safer. In my experience dealing with a narcissist. Once you find your power, stand on it! SHOW NO fear, NO weakness, NO eff's given. THAT scares the heck outta a narcissist! They are used to the weak, crying, selfless person. A confident, powerful person will make them RUN!!
Sounds like a narcissist..like the one i live with..mr wonderful for the first two months untill your invested..then the partys over for good.
Leave, your life will improve 100% even if it is hard at first. I was raised by a true narcissist and I know our life would have been so much better without him. My brother is a severe alcoholic and has been since he was 20. My mother regrets staying with that lunatic and I try to get on but the trauma of living with a person you feel you have to walk on eggshells with takes it toll. Don't carry that toxicity into your next generation of family, they will be grateful for the peace. Stay safe x
Same here and everyone thinks it's so easy to leave but by the time you're in their web, they've usually relieved you of your finances and made you completely horrendously dependant on them. Tale as old as time 😢
An amazing woman and family..I hope nothing comes in between her and her son again
After watching the great legnths, Daniel went through to keep sebastian from his mother, and she not recognizing her baby it brings a question if the father replaced baby Sebastian with another baby. Was a DNA test ever done on the child?
Why no one around this man told him that he was wrong ? Like does he not have a mother ? A father ? A family to tell him he cant kidnap his child from the mother ? What is wrong with them all ? Where is their logic and hearts ? Just wow !
Do you think he was telling them "oh, I've always hated this baby and didn't think my wife would give all the attention to the baby when it came. I've also been acting like a narcissistic whackjob and come across like I might get physically abusive at any second. So I snatched this child away from his loving, caring mother who takes great care of him"? That's never the story of the person in the wrong, even when it's completely accurate. I'm sure his story involved the mother being neglectful at the very least, possibly downright abusive to the baby, as well as running around on him with multiple men, maybe even throwing in a substance abuse problem for good measure. Abusers are never in the wrong to themselves, no matter how much they have to outright lie to justify their horrible actions.
such an amazing family... if everyone had a family like this, the world would be a much, much better place....
I hope they have recovered financially! Sick world we live in when Gypsy Rose is a millionaire yet people like this are unknown. These are what HEROES look like!
Gypsy Rose should still be in prison for killing her mother. Her boyfriend that actually did the killing got life without parole. She should have been sentenced according to what he was sentenced because she was the mastermind.
@@sherrigates463 Amd she did most the jabs!!! A jury would have seen all the evidence which we can now. She stole TWO knives. Nick said he did 4 jabs. Who did the rest? Where is the other knife she stole? So much more too. Nick is still covering for her. That’s why he still says he has to “protect” her.
Cross-cultural relationships can end so badly when one spouse wants to disappear and take the child!
Harrowing story! Ingenious plot to get baby back. Such a lovely family that all threw themselves behind their family members in need! So proud to be also British!
May God bless your baby and family always. I relate to your story in many ways. What a loving and supportive family!! Good on her!!
This was terrifying just watching and listening to this madness can't imagine what Samantha was going through and that baby. Her brother was the real man in this case and how brave he was.
What an INCREDIBLE story! And good on that family for sticking together - hopefully they experience some financial relief for doing what the government should have!
Don’t get involved with any guy at a BAR. The best men are not spending time at bars.
Thank God she got him back!!😭🙏🏻
He's a classic narcissist
I found other story in internet about her. He mistrated his own son. And he wait for her in Mexico. Who said the true?
I had my twins in an area where the baby daddy had a lot of family and land i dodnt know of. When the delivery required me to have an epidural, i was petrified his family would take them while i was immobile. I had my friends keep eye contact on my babies until i could hold them myself. Its scary.
Sebastian is very loved and has a wonderful family. I wonder how old he is now.
Psychopaths are born; Sociopaths are made‼️ This man is soooo scary‼️
I am sending out my thoughts and prayers and love to her and her whole family ❤ even though it was a long time ago
Oh the poor naive girl - and her family. So many people don't know much about human behaviour and get themselves into all sorts of trouble and often dead.
I was married to a Hispanic man whose attitude was similar in many ways.
What an amazing family. ❤
They could make a wonderful movie out of this story. So glad it had a happy ending.
This was incredible! God Bless you and your family! Sebastian is a miracle! I hope you all have a blessed life. 🙏✝️☮️
The baby being taken from his mom and her not being present during those first few months of his life will FOREVER effect him and his brain development. The man who took the baby forever damaged that little boy. The things that happen to us as babies shape us forever
Especially when breastfeeding. You can get seriously ill if you are not able to feed or have to be put on meds not to be producing anymore.
But it’s the first 3 years really…he had bonded with his mother before he was kidnapped.. so hopefully he recovered for the most part. The live of a mother trumps EVERYTHING. 🩵🤍
You are phenomenal ❤️ I'm sorry you went through this. I wish your son the best life.
I hope her guard is never down because you never know he might go over to her country & try to kidnap the little boy there.
I don't think so. He'd be completely out of his element. And honestly, I think he's too lazy.
Yes anything is possible he could set someone up to kidnap the little boy.
He won't, he is wanted in America for kidnapping, so if he did go, he'd be arrested at the airport
@@empfangwien521 that is great but she lives in the UK where her family lives. Sadly he’s probably already found another victim he can abuse now.
@empfangwien521
Indeed. And since he's wanted for international kidnapping, he's more than likely on the radar of the Yard, Interpol and other law enforcement agencies in the Western world. He's probably scared to death to leave Mexico lindo.
He treated me like a princess. That’s where it all goes wrong.
Ah. Rich guy. Treating me like a princess. Did they stop and think. Why?? What’s so special in me ? Nope.
There was plenty special about her. I don't know about you, projecting with petty shade.
What a beautiful family. May baby Sebastian, his heroic nother and entire family be blessed forever and never ever apart from each other.
In my young adult life, I watched a movie. “Not without my child” with Sally Fields and it scared me to death. I had the fore thought at that time in my life, I would NEVER PUT MYSELF IN THAT SITUATION!
I remember watching that movie, “Not Without My Daughter,” years ago, and it was terrifying for the mother, played by Sally Fields. Sally Fields’ character marries an Iranian-American doctor in America and they have a daughter. Later, her husband convinces her and their daughter to accompany him to go visit his family in Iran for two weeks. She was reluctant, but relented, and soon after, her fears were realized after they got to Iran and her husband told her that he had been fired from the hospital and that they were staying in Iran and were not returning to America.
They were living with her husband’s family, where she was held hostage and guarded closely indoors. When she found out her father in America was ill, she was told she could go to American to see her father, but their daughter would be staying. She was not going to leave her daughter behind, but she had no rights in Iran.
Her husband and family members began abusing her, because she didn’t know their customs, and her daughter was very unhappy at the school she was attending. Then when she was told that when her daughter turned nine, she could be forced to marry or become a child soldier, she knew she had to leave and take her daughter.
One day, after adhering to their rules for awhile and gaining some trust, she pretended to go to the market, but she secretly managed to get to the Swiss Embassy for help, met with some humanitarian Iranians who helped her get some forged documents, arranged to kidnap her daughter, and secretly got them out of the city. They had to pass through several checkpoints for several days with Iranian smugglers to finally get to an American Embassy in Ankara and then get to America. After she and her daughter finally got back to America, she became an author and began working with other people in similar circumstances.
As a mother myself, that movie was so scary to me too. 😱

How about you stick with the original people you know and grew up with…they can’t all be as bad as Daniel here! Give love a good chance not just blindly guessing!!
What a wonderful family that all stuck together to make this happen. I so hope you win a big lottery...❤
It's wild that families who have had some life experiences don't coach their children on common sense life...cultural differences, too young , didn't live together, met on holiday, got pregnant too soon, didn't know anything about him (had a record), where were his parents/friends????? Too much naivete.
As I told my kids...I will not pay for your mistakes so heed my warnings as a parent who has more life experience than you.
Sad for everyone especially her family who lost their financial independence and went through emotional hardship because she made a mistake.
Prevention is the best medicine so when those red flags wave...don't ignore them.
Plus living illegally in two foreign countries! Daniel owning property in Texas is likely what permitted US cops to help, then the US FBI. If she had the proper visas and went directly to attorneys in both countries it of course would have been the safer, proper way to deal with this. As is she used an incredible amount of resources from two countries, MX and USA, based really on her own idiot behaviour. Commenters saying she is an amazing mother are not seeing her for the young dumb girl she was. Fathers do have custodial rights. All depositions everywhere are videotaped, so are police interviews. Just a foolish young woman.
Wow - I tell my kid all the time, that there’s no trouble she could ever get into, that she can’t come to me with, and we will figure it out together.
There are lots of ways to teach accountability - my kid has also had a rigorous, developmentally appropriate chores expected of her, since she was a young toddler, bc everyone contributes. It’s really important your kids know they can come to you and not get judged- otherwise you leave them extremely vulnerable to manipulation from predators
She’s so gullible. Taking the baby and leaving immediately. It’s Mexico and the family clearly has connections and are corrupt. That said, I’d love to know which embassy helped them take the baby and leave. Sounds crazy.
I do not believe in fairytales. This man possibly had many women in his life while this woman was back home. He knew exactly how to manipulate her.
Wow what an Amazing 👏 Loving and Dedicated family she has. She couldn't have done it without them.
I am so happy she got her son back, that her and her family risked everything to get him back❤❤❤

Can't help being so frustrated with the young woman one 1/3 in. Bad decisions! She was inmature and married a guy she barely KNEW and had a child, putting herself at risk of being deported and becoming so vulnerable emotionally and physically 🙄😱
Naiveness in her eyes says it all....

So absolutely true. Since Samantha was still very young, I can understand her actions....It`s the reason so many marriages fail, cz the 2 spouses didn`t know each other good enough AND both of their family backgrounds....Mexicans are very macho society, still today....
Why am I not surprised that this Daniel was garbage.
She shoylfd have asked advise from the British embassy when she felt threatened. Her baby is half BRITIsh so the British authorities could have intervened. But if Daniel was that gutsy, his wealthy family must be a drug cartel that even the Mexican police didnt want to touch. Just great that they were reunited. Sadly babies ense these things and was surely in a trauma. He woyld need a lot of intervention to heal. Just lidstened to a dad who killed his children to punish his wife. This Daniel is from a a drug cartel family.
I’m sure there were red flags but she chose not to see them. But hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20!
How could he travel alone with the baby but she couldn’t?!
Because he is the legal father with citizenship in US and Mexico. Generally you do need a letter from the other parent to fly but a land border is porous. Do not have a baby in a country in which you do not even have permission to live and work, that was completely on her.
43:49 girl, you DID do anything to save Sebastian..

The very FAMILY she excluded from the beginning of her relationship ended up helping her! I hope she's learned her lesson! You need to know all sides to a person and even then you should never be so naive.
Even if this was a reenactment, that baby was left in the sun shining on its face. Even as a reenactment, this is despicable and negligent. I dislike dumb videos like this. Just report it as news. The reenactment is terrible.
Do you think at the time you were going through this romance if anyone had said to you don’t do this he’s romancing you love bombing you and if you have kids with him, it could be a nightmare, would that have changed what you did you need to listen to wiser people. 😢
Big BIG mistake, ladies. You do NOT book a ticket or anything to chase a man.
This Mom was very lucky to get her child back. Thankfully she had a strong family support not everyone has such a family. More importantly she had the backing of the U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! I’m sure this Mom has to check behind every corner she walks beside in fear! But I pray she can move forward with her life with her son!
