I just took my bass to Saudi. I looked high and low for a solution as I will be there for a while, so wanted two full suit cases. The excess baggage charge for the bass was almost as much as the bass. My solution was the Plano Deluxe Golf Guard Case. It was only £100 from CadetDirect and its approved by the airlines, and can take my bass, and then I packed all my clothes around the bass for super protection. My bass went inside in the gig bag. They also have some rifle cases which are seriously hardcore with uber-padding. However, there was less space for luggage and really do you want the stop and search that would come with it? My 3 favourite bass players ... Carol Kaye; Pastorius & Guy Pratt.

This looks fab! I'm early on in my bass education, and I struggle for practice time. When I was recently going on a short trip, I was bummed because I finally had a little more time I could focus on practice because I wouldn't be at work, but I ultimately left my bass at home because I just have a gig bag and I was scared I might have to check it. It's a beat up secondhander I picked up on the cheap years ago, but it's still my axe! So many good bassists out there!
