Ah, brings back memories. I flew the T-44 Pegusus King Air 90 to my wings in flight school with the Navy. Flew the 1900D for about 300 hours. I flew the KC-130 Hercules for the Marines.
@@chazflyz Thanks Chaz, I probably missed you saying this at some point but I would love to know your overall thoughts on this particular X Plane King Air 350i model when your done with your series. (i.e. The flight dynamics and systems characteristics compared to the real 350i aircraft 👍) It would boost our sim know how ego a bit 🙂
Initially I planned to throw in my comparison thoughts, but then opted out as I didn't want to overload the audience with too much information. I'll do a separate video down the road. But I'll tell you right now- the Airfoil Labs K350 is spot on. Study level. It's very impressive right down to the electrical system.
Aaah man, sorely needed these videos were! Now all I'm still itching for is first flight of day checks - especially the engine run-ups. I've never been able to get my head around those and would love to be able to do them if they are simulated. Looks so complicated from checklists. Would be great to see how you real-world guys go through with them! Thanks for giving the Airfoillabs King Air 350 some love.
Glad to hear you enjoy the videos. The Airfoil Labs checklist tells us to "check" various things, but doesn't always tell us "what" to check. But surprisingly their systems modeling is quite accurate so I'll go over those in my next video. If you fly with system failures on, checking the systems prior to flight may benefit you. Hower I don't know the extent of the systems failures that airfoil labs has simulated.
Excellent video and I have learned a lot from you! Quick question: I noticed that you turned on prop sync before takeoff. I am still learning but from what I have read, I believe that some videos say you should wait until after takeoff to turn on prop synch and then to turn it off before landing? What is the best course of action/procedure for managing prop sync? Thank you!
this is awesome, thank you! does your KingAir 350 rock / dolphin in climb and/or autopiliot?? mine wont stop doing it. Smooth ride doesn't help, nor does setting alt manually. thoughts?
Im sure I missed it but does the Condition lever stay in Low idle the entire flight or move around based on certain conditions? Thanks - these are very helpful!
Most operators keep it in low idle after engine start. High Idle is just to help with engine starts and inflate the boots on the ground if needed. But keeping it high idle for flight makes no difference in performance.
Hey! Just wondering how realistic this is to a real aircraft? Im about to finish my ppl and I will go on to do my multi engine in the future. Will this help me in any way?
This aircraft in Xplane is very realistic to the real King Air 350 in terms of functionality and performance. For multi-engine training, this aircraft will be a steep learning curve with no prior multi-engine experience which may be negative training. I'd recommend the Seminole or Seneca instead of this aircraft as an introduction to ME ops. Both aircraft can be found at store.x-plane.org/
Great series, man! But how do we prepare our nav system (the Garmin) before the flight? Is this done with engines off, so ext power on and avionics master on?
Thanks. If you setup the Garmin with the engines off, do not turn off the battery/ext power or you will lose your loaded flight plan unless you are using a preset flight plan that you can quickly recall.
Assuming you have the reality XP software, it's part of the latest update to the King Air 350. I believe version 1.4 introduced dual GTN. Current version is 1.5.3 .

a tip: you can watch series at Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Conrad Maddox Definitely, I have been watching on Kaldrostream for years myself :D

Excellent video! Short, precise, and straight to point. Thanks very much for creating and sharing.
Woo! I've been waiting for this Chaz! Thanks for coming through for us.
Thanks for being patient. Part 2 will be posted by this Friday. Part 3 next week.

Great job on the video sir😀 As always your video was well worth the wait! Looking forward to seeing your next series of videos, keep up the good work

Hey. I haven't flown the 350 in a few years. Moved on since but I do recall 1 or 2 of our 350s rocking in descent, notably at high speed.
I recognize those King Air photos! You still flying for Netflix?

Do you have profiles for the honeycomb throttle and yoke you’d be willing to share?
I just programmed my Honeycomb hardware in X-Plane 11 settings for each aircraft.

@@chazflyz What setting did you use to have full down on idle be the cutoff, or did you have it set to the detent?

Thanks for this comprehensive tutorial. Really is required viewing after buying the KA350. I see you cloned yourself ... at least twice.

Could you do a video teaching how to close and open the King Air cabin door from inside?
Xplane video or real airplane?
@@chazflyz Hello, Real Airplane, thank you!
I noticed in your video you mentioned that you would supply a link to the checklists you used...I'm sorry but I don't see that link.
Thanks for watching. Check out the video description for the checklist. It's a bitly link.
Dear Chaz, how do you got the dual 750 in there?
Assuming you have the reality XP software, it's part of the latest update to the King Air 350. I believe version 1.4 introduced dual GTN. Current version is 1.5.3 .
@@chazflyz I bought the RwalityXP GTN today but I only have one visible, no dual devices. Any advice?
Is your King air 350 software updated to 1.5.3 ? Minimum 1.4.
I’m sold! Default C90 you’re going in the trash 😂
This 350 is definitely worth every dollar. You won’t regret it.
