Really appreciated your point about Walter being at peak villain and how the writers allowed his character to get there over 5 seasons and not 2 or 3. This shows momentum starts flying in this last season and it’s so much better because they took their time to get there.

Season 5 is so weird because seasons 2, 3, and 4, can be described as “the same but different” with season 1 being an outlier because it was cut short, but season 5 just inverses everything the past seasons were, creating the dark downfall of Walt, Jesse, Hank, and the rest. Halfway through watching Better Call Saul, and it occurred to me that Alfred Hitchcock would absolutely love these series. IMO, they are much more up his alley than what people usually label a "Hitchcockian twist." He was obsessed with pushing regular people into extreme situations, and even invaded traditionalist suburbia in stories like Shadow of a Doubt and The Trouble With Harry. BB and BCS both give weight to the mundane amidst the unusual, just like Hitchcock does in Rear Window. It's striking the right balance between plot and daily minutia that helps flesh out the characters and give them so much texture.

Walt was a morally grey character until the end of Season 4. As soon as he poisoned and risked the life of a child for personal gain he went beyond redemption.

I think maybe Mike feels ao protective of Jessie because of what happened to his son.

5:07 - 'if you ever played GTA V' - oh you're going to have a weird moment in a certain episode of Better Call Saul
also I think you only like to say positive things about cinematography, that's why you never talk about the 'mexico' filter
amusingly, a strong magnetic field could corrupt a hard drive but it's not in the way jesse demonstrates with his hand - it's b/c every bit of data 1 or 0 is encoded as magnetic north or south region in the actual disc (on a HDD, SSD is different)

If i recall correctly, they were originally writing Season 4 as the series finale. Despite this, S5 is just as strong as the rest of the series.

Jeez, I forgot how uncomfortable and gross that “I forgive you” was. Hits extra hard because the scenes where they were coming up with the gambling story are much more recent in your reaction vs watching the show in real time, and Skylar genuinely wanted that apology Walt only gave her as acting practice. Then he has the audacity to force her into an apology she didn’t even give.

Man I love this season. Which is weird cause this is the darkest season by far. For obvious reasons, mainly it's the culmination of everything but it's reality in a way, of that lifestyle. Which is why Better Call saul suprised me even more than Breaking bad. Cause I thought there wasn't much more they could do, even with going back like they did. But boy was I wrong. And gladly so. Thank you for you reactions. Something I look foward to and will continue too as you go on this journey with these shows.
And i dont know how you call things everytime. You've guessed right now like 5 times.

Gus comes back to life in BCS in a huge way !!! Gus is also a Sith lord in the Star wars series "The Mandolorian . Netflix's " Peaky Blinders is in IMO as good or better than BB .It may be a British thing as I'm American and I dig all the dialects over there but it is a hell of a series . Tom Hardy & Cillian Murphy together are hard to beat .

There are very few shows of a similar caliber to BB. I understand that you're going to do BCS, so that's a good one. You should do The Wire. Without question. You should probably do The Sopranos. Maybe Deadwood? Have you done Band of Brothers? It's a mini-series, but it's definitely worth your time.
