- Backstory that you can totally ignore:
Shinichi has been stuck as Conan for what seems like forever. There's no take down of the BO nor an antidote in sight so he decided that he would live his life as Conan now.
He tells the people who know about him that he's fine but mentally it's destroying him. He's stressed and depressed but won't admit it.
Cue KID who's trying to get them to work together. Because together they can achieve whatever they want. Although, Shinichi, no Conan, is reluctant. At first.

I love Kaito’s little grin when he realizes Shinichi stole the gem from him at 1:40. Honestly all of their expressions are amazing. Especially how you make it obvious Shinichi is so tired and that Kaito is really enjoying their banter.

as someone who's rather ambivalent to KaiShin (it's very much my least favourite of the big Shinichi ships haha) THIS is exactly the kind of KaiShin content i DIE for. Shinichi hurting, but very much REFUSING to admit so, and Kaito the only one who can do something about it- also the set up is SO fun. Shinichi just giving up, resigning himself to being Conan- to losing his life as Shinichi, to losing Ran, to losing EVERYTHING, really, except what he's managed to build for himself as Conan, but not knowing how to accept that as living- and Kaito being able to see right through him, pushing and pushing because he KNOWS they can do something about it, TOGETHER. and Conan not wanting to, because trying has done NOTHING but hurt him, but oh- Kaito is convincing, isn't he? and maybe he doesn't put his heart into it, not at first- too tired, too hurt, to really think it'd work. but then it DOES, they're making progress, and Kaito is giving him reason to HOPE again, and aaaaah, that's the GOOD SHIT
also MAN, the visuals. soooo good. i especially LOOOOOOOVE Kaito's face at 1:32 like just. chef's kiss

Dear lord this is a masterpice, the details in the expressions, their personalities slip away you can really fell them, the song perfectly matching them, the way their relationship is handled.
How you can easily feel Conan's tiredness and givin up with his last energy to resists cause truly even if giving up he's still hoping for that something to give him strength and motivation.
Kid being the one who can see him but like really see him under all the circumstances he's going through and understand it, not giving up on him prepared to be there for him, to take his hand and steal him away, but conan is already too tired so its more like he's going willingly.
An uncertain future but they have each other.
