The infamous digital "cooking" of two amazing voices that created a "supernatural" voice, blending the warm rounded high tones of Derek Lee Ragin glaced with Ewa´s rich coloratura pitch trills and notes. The result is slightly below perfection (if there is something like that) but way too exquisite and perfect for the humans. This recording is still much controversial, but all in all it is a beautiful and delightful pleasure for the ears and soul.
I like the vocal ornamentation supplied by Malas-Godlewska at the end of Ragin's performance. Whoever wrote the aria interpretations did a dramatic and attractive job, although some people argue about the "lack of authenticity" of some of the interpretations. Ironically however, Sony overlooked two very experienced, superior Baroque singers of the time, Andreas Scholl and Maria Cristina Kiehr, when they made their selection, whose voices and technique come far closer to the castrato sound.
I guess that's baroque right? It really has nothing to do with other common operas....it's just so....epic and mystical, and i think that Dame Ewa is the most suitable soprano for baroque
Bellísima música y Bellísima interpretación. Lloro de placer escuchándola. Gracias por el aporte.
Every time I listen to it---Something in me just gets shaken, I don't know what it is but it is a wonderful feeling.
