Ali, thank you for writing. So much to talk about. Thank you for your support. I too have attained an age which some people consider "old". Age is just not much of an issue.
I love Istanbul. I have been there three times, years ago. It is a magical place to explore.

I assure you that I will. The channel launched August 7. On day one, I put up 41 videos. I did not want people to be disappointed by seeing only a couple of lousy videos, so 41 to start. I have published one a day since then. We have over 20 hours of content now. By January, I want 200 videos up and available. One year from now, I want 100 hours of content. Of course the challenge is to not let the volume drag the quality down. Every now and again, I must delete a video before posting it, because it is not good enough. Thanks for your support.

I'm afraid of this EYE-MONSTER. I wish I could record videos too (teaching Portuguese), but I'm always afraid to face the EYE-MONSTER 😅
I bet you have a lot of room to grow your channel here in Brazil, BTW.
    Congrats!!🎉

    • @comprehendeng

You can do it! When I started is was tough. I simply deleted bad videos. I still do that. If one knows that bad ones can be deleted, then one starts seeing good ones. It is simply a learned skill. It becomes natural with time. We need Portuguese content. How cool would it be to have a channel like Input Portuguese? It does help to know in one''s mind that when talking to the camera, you are actually talking to specific people, the subscribers, the people who send message like this. Thanks much.

Interesting and new word like “one eye monster “. Anyway now it is becoming a habit for me to watch your videos. As a leaner all the contents you’re creating is really useful. Hope I can improve my conversing skills with time. Thank you Sir 💐💐💐

Of course all language have lots of metaphors. One eyed monster is clear enough that people can detect that it is a metaphor. Metaphor is on my mental checklist for understanding something which is not clear. Could it be a metaphor? Progress takes time. When I add 300 hours of listening, I notice a difference. A little bit each day.

Welcome! Thank you for writing. If you don't mind saying, where might you be writing from? I really enjoy sharing these stories and the English language. Some of the stories are fiction, made up by me. Some are clearly labeled as true stores. This is the content which I would want if I were learning English as a second Language. All the stories have a "pearl" or "treasure" hidden in them. Watching to the end will allow better understanding, because this is where it all gets wrapped up. Each story has some interesting vocabulary which you can learn in context. No profanity and little or no slang. Just good clean and hopefully interesting stories in English. Lots more to come. Thank you.

I also like your videos very much. I think you are very uncommon and because of this I suppose you have a very big chance to get huge audience and success. I would be glad to know more about your life, your experience or simply some stories. Everything.
But sometimes I am feeling that you are trying to speak more slowly then you normally speak. I think it can be very tricky. Because in real life we will hear much higher speed of speech.
Anyway I enjoyed your videos and I wish all the best to your channel!
If I were asked about topics for future videos, I would like to get to know your stories about your job interviews, job stories, why you changed your job, also what are your hobbies, what films or series do you like or had likes before. I had liked your video about Hollywood park very much. But I haven't find next video. Now I guess I simply need to wait some time for this.
Briefly to say: Great content! Keep it up!🎉

Anton, Thank you for your kind and insightful words. There is a lot in your message. I have noted your suggestions for the future. Regarding me, do have not been publishing a lot of detail on the Internet for all to see. I am not hiding anything, just trying to balance the privacy. I do have an e-mail (new) on the channel for this sort of communication, if you like.
The pace of speaking is a balance. Too slow is boring and unnatural. Too fast and I lose people. I try to keep it somewhat within the normal range, perhaps on the slower side. In the future, I may have a playlist of faster speech for those who want it. I have also considered longer vlog or even audio only podcast for those who want a lot of time in contact with the language. At the moment I have 100 videos uploaded and 20 hours of content. I want that to triple in the next year. I am planning for 1000 hours of input in the long run. I am taking this seriously. There are 1.5 billion people in the world trying to learn English. So, a couple million subscribers can come if I can make good enough content.
Yes, the next video on why I told you about how Disney was built comes out tomorrow 0500 California time. However, for you and anyone who reads your comment, I will say that the reason for the story is that I worked at Disney during the summer after college. It was a gas!
      Thanks for writing. Joe

This channel is really helping me with my English! Well done! I have two questions for Joseph: how many hours of Spanish comprehensible input have you accumulated so far? Are you satisfied with what you have accomplished?

    • @comprehendeng
      @comprehendeng  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Francesco, I have right at 2000 hour of CI in Spanish. One thousand with Dreaming Spanish and the other thousand with podcasts and audiobooks. I am super satisfied, but I am not fluent. I understand most everything and I am now in the "output" phase. I talk with myself while walking and while driving. I will use iTalki at some point but for now, I am talking to myself. I can sense the progress in this phase as well. I continue to get input. 2000 hours is not a finish line. Its a beginning. Thank you.

@@francescoschipani6926 I started Spaniah in Feb '23, but I did 4 hours a day on most days. Some days i did 7-8 hours. That has slowed down a bit so my average per day since starting is over 3 hours a day. That was extreme but I wanted results so I put in the time.
