Great vid, ive done this job on mine a few times now, the only thing you’re missing is the steering angle sensor needs recalibrating after or you get ESP and skid lights come on , this has to be done with a scanner, i got lucky the first time with no issues but this time it happened do now gotta book it in to have calibration done 🤦♂️
Very good explanation. The torque bit on mine is 25, not 20. Slightly different steering wheel controls, so had an extra wiring plug. But nothing that couldn't be resolved.
Great video, the only issue is that some D40, eg. 2010 Thai built do not have the same horn hub release spring. Some models have two, and they are opposite each other at 6 & 9 o’clock as opposed to the single 6 o’clock position.
Great video and thank you for doing it. I have read on the Navara forums that there are 2 types of these clock springs, 1 for left hand drive vehicles and 1 for right hand drive vehicles and these are marked with an L or R on the black plastic part of the unit. Is this correct as there is a big price difference buying a unit marked R as compared to L and also the forums stated that if you fit the L marked unit it causes issues with the blinker cancellation being done in the incorrect spot as the steering wheel is turned. I noticed in the video that the new unit you installed is marked with an L. Thanks
My part arrived (Europe based, sorry), but on the ''instructions'' it says: 'turn the clockspring clockwise till it stops, then counterclockwise 2.5 to 3 turns'.
La navara 2008 no muestra info de consumo pero en el test de tablero aparece el campo, actualizando software de ecu o algo así puede hacer que tablero muestre info de consumo???
Hey mate, thanks a million, glad I stumbled on this !! In dire need of one of one of these. Mechanic recently told me that its a shit of a job to replace and takes a long time !!! Going by this, I'm forest gump, deadset rookie as far as mechanics but reckon even I could have a crack. Mechanic mentioned to me also, that he would have to take apart, to see the part first, because there are 2 versions of this spring, then order the right one and then fit it. Does this sound right? I have a 2010 Nissan Navara D40 (thailand)
Hi si right. there are two version of this - the difference is in the sleeve (protruding white part) that connects to the steering angle sensor. One is wider than the other
I am currently doing this job myself but the part I purchased from you doesnt have the module for cruise control like the original nissan clock spring has.... This means i wont be able to use cruise control? is that correct? Thanks
Best vid on how to do this that I’ve seen. Have procrastinated doing this for about 6 months.
Easssy job get it done ✔️

Hey mate I bought one over the weekend and it came today it looks pretty easy to put in
Very easy. Follow these instructions you'll do it easily

great vid. My cruise button wont turn on anymore. Is that related to the clock spring? 2011 r51 pathfinder
Yes it may be, but it also may be the cruise control module itself. Diagnose it
Thanks

Could this be the cause of no cruise control or radio controls working from the steering wheel ,great vid
Yes definitely. Common symptom is that.
Thx to my bro this help to get my job dun🎉
A green rusty Stanley Philips... We all have one
Very good I'm so glad I saw this so I could do this exact job. Thanks 👍
Well explained nice easy job, cheers.
I got a clock spring. E8, i need R8. It all works but the steering wheel is side ways. And the turning of the clock spring is different.
Good video. I done it but steering wheel is side ways when driving.
Need to re align it.
@@thepartsfactory4239 i bought wrong part. My original is R8, the one i got was E8 with two plugs. Both are different steering wise. Lol
Is it the same for the 2012 D40 Spain built
Yep it is
Is this pretty much the process for all nissan's? I have a dualis that needs this part replacing.
Yep very similar.
My part arrived (Europe based, sorry), but on the ''instructions'' it says: 'turn the clockspring clockwise till it stops, then counterclockwise 2.5 to 3 turns'.

Does it need coding after?

Our modules have cruise control in them. You may be talking about the steering wheel angle sensor. Is that correct?
Gracias
