Why not build a small block Buick 350 that will even fit on the v6 motor mounts for this thing? Molnar makes aftermarket connecting rods for the sbb 350 now so that is no longer a weak link. And TA Performance makes aluminum heads for the 350 as well. The sbb 350s love boost as much if not more than the Buick v6 too. The factory cranks hold up very well and so do the blocks. As a matter of fact the blocks hold up better than the BBBs without the jock strap(girdle).

Made 748 hp to the wheels & high 9's with my modded V6 GN. Other builders made more. But I realize this is a video channel, I still enjoy watching. The GN was and is a special car. Think back to 1987, how fast were other cars?
I won't lie, I miss Tony and Lucky together. Their combined sense of humor was hilarious...BUT I am starting to enjoy Lucky and Alex on the show! They are a good combination. Keep up the great work!
Tony has no mechanical sympathy and Lucky the opposite so ya it worked. If Alex don't have a computer controlling timing to keep tires from spinning she can't do it ! Look at the Camaro runs she didn't have a clue and blamed electronics for her non ability to feather a gas pedal or slowly engage. Love them all and computers are better but I'm old-school I'd rather watch Freiburger pedal accelerator instead of a keyboard for speed.

In the 90's you could get low 12's for under $2000 without touching the motor... Fuel Pump and hotwire kit Race chip K&N Filter 3" Downpipe and cat back exhaust Spark plugs and maybe valve springs depending on mileage I cut my hotrod teeth on an 86 T-Type and ran 11.82 in highschool with the above mods, plus a TA49 turbo and bigger injectors, plenty more in it with a few suspension mods and better converter...
My 87 T Type did 13.8 STOCK. 13.2 with gutted converter cone K&N and higher boost still on stock chip. Stock headers work well into 10 sec range. If Don Cruz donated headers you need to show y’all how to tune it too! These old V6 Buicks ain’t no LS!
You have to make the cassis to work. We used no hop bars and MT 9 inch slicks also unhooked the front sway bar. Installed an adjustment waste gate, transmission mods, factory ECM, factory fuel system. The engine was bone stock factory intercooler hoses used to blow off so silicone ones were installed. The turbo was upgraded in the low 12s to get us in to the 11s the injectors were cleaned and rebalanced to get to low 11s. The car they are working on should be gone over completely. It’s likely mushy in the suspension. The motor doesn’t sound healthy either. I was a Buick tech back in the day and the engineers knew how to build a turbo motor.
These cars ran 13.9 stock. You guys install a $2000 set of headers, billet roller cam kit, CNC ported heads and big turbo, and somehow manage to run slower than a stock 1987 Grand National.
Alex is a great addition to the team. She a great work ethic is funny, but very knowledable. Lucky and Alex have a great chemistry as well. Really good choices made there MotorTrned
rather than "bag and tag", hit up your local delicatessen for the plastic containers they put salads in. fill with the necessary fasteners, and pour in a 50/50 mix of vinegar and salt, to make a brine that eats rust. then write on the outside where they go, and how (if they are different lengths or sizes, like in front timing cover assemblies, etc). meanwhile, when pulling a cylinder head for its first time, a way not for it to end up on the floor like the 4.3 V6 nearly did, is to loosen the head bolts, break the head free of the block while the bolts are still grabbing some deck thread, and then pull out all the bolts and fab a nice little handle from scrap that screws into the rocker arm setup and now carry it like am attache case (what your father used for business before cell phones were invented to carry everything). I would have thought a 1987 block would have roller lifters OEM, but Lucky makes it sound like the old cam was just "regular hydraulic lifter", ie, flat tappet.

Well Lucky, you know that increased too much the views and 👍with ALEX at the portrait; she itsn`t just a fast woman driver..., also she knows very well, how are working every single pieces in to the car, and fixed as well. Saludos
RPM loss at the top is most likely due to spent valve springs, possibly combined with fuel leaning out. Fuel system needs monitoring(could have been done on dyno perhaps, assuring 1:1 pressure rise correlating to boost PSI w/baseline in low 40's), BTW, what size were those injectors and if the fuel was 'stinky', the pump should've been upgraded when the bad gas was evacced. Also, adding to the idea of a likely 'lean' issue was when the exhaust was freed up, performance actually went into the toilet totally. Aye... these cars have a decent learning curve- a LOT of 'little things' that can have a pretty big effect on performance. That said, for having 375ish R WHP, anything above mid-12's is pretty embarrassing, but being there is a general lack of familiarity with TB's, a mulligan is in order LOL. It was still a great 'watch', and although I kept talking to y'all trying to 'help' during the Buick re-build, I'm gonna watch it again and see what I missed... Thanks for the vid
Ported heads, hydr roller cam, front mount intercooler, adjust fuel pressure reg, 3" downpipe, exh cut out, roller rockers, headers and Holley HP efi system running 14.1 @ 105mph.... OMG!!!
