I think most viewers failed to see that Xiaoju rejected Shiyi because she didnt want to lose him if anything happened in their relationship. Shiyi was her best friend, its not easy to suddenly change from friends to lovers. She had been brotherzoning him for a long time, would it be natural if she instantly accepted his feelings? She didnt want to keep faking their relationship bc she didnt want to use his best friend to save herself. I am as annoyed as you all as she kept hesitating and denying her feelings which always ended up hurting shiyi the most. But we are not in Xiaoju's shoes. I think what she did was realistic enough.
yessssss...ive been in her shoes before , i had one male bestfriend..he was exactly like shiyi.. i directly went to him for explaination cuz i found out from a girl he rejected cuz he said he love me..unfortunately , i cant give him the chance because it is wasnt easy for you to love ur bestfriend especially when u dont have any feelings for the start ... ive tried but i just cant to love him more than just a friend ....

She's so naive when it comes to matters of heart that one step in her direction will make her take three steps back, I believe. Their personalities are too explosive when in each other's company. They're showing their age when they're taking all these immature decisions. I like that Shiyi is very tenacious and we know how much he loves her. But, I really don't envy Xiaoju, her whole personal life is a mess... All her friendships are at stake and transforming into something new. Poor Shiyi and Xiaoju, I feel sorry for them.

I've watched a lot of these kind of genre ( Highschool romance, friendship, spice of life)a lot in cdramas and kdramas but this is my first time to get really attached to the characters. All of main casts acting are superb,the settings,the osts, the dialogues are really good, and most of all, every episodes are interesting and enjoyable. Lastly, the male lead character is what really makes this story amazing. I think it will be very hard for me to move on from them. 😭😭😭
