    If KTM provides an extra off-road package as an add-on extra with the adjustable apex forks and spoke wheels and maybe a front fender this will cause mayhem to even the entry models of the tiger and small GS range of motorcycles

    Trust me guys! For Basic touring, all you just need good bhp, abs, slipper clutch, and good seating comfort. This is all available in dominar. That's the reason its vfm. With few mods it can tour very well! Ktm adv390 is all about touring with heavily loaded features like cornering abs, traction control etc, these features plays a bigger role in sports bikes. So are the charges. So think about what you guys are looking for, if its touring or off roading.

    Dissapointed with this bike, Why dont the manufactures doesnt tune the engines according to the character of the bike? why dont they tune the bike to provide more torque at lower rpms like adventure bikes? In addition why does ktm thinks everyone is above 6 feet height in India, why didnt they provide low seating options like any other adventure bikes? i m sorry but even with the new features doesnt justify the appeal of the bike. Like as the reporter said, it should have made more torquish below 3k to make it feel more like a adventurer than a duke 390 with new cloths

      Well they gave much tougher alloy wheels as compared to the ones on the duke 390 so will be lesser of an issue. Also to be honest puncture issues on spoke wheels is tiresome

    I was looking for an all rounder capable motorcycle having sold off my earlier motorcycle a few years back. This bike fits the bill perfectly ...it has good tech built in which no other bike in this or even upper segments offers . It has good GC, long travel forks , good seat , great power,low in maintenance and most importantly light weight..... necessary for adventure. All this in 2.99 lakhs ...is great VFM.
    Now compare this with ninja or z650...although they r not directly comparable.
    KTM can go where these bikes can't ,even though they hv more power, an extra cylinder, smashing looks,and brand value as well....
    Although I would hv liked a few more goodies like wider and better rear tyres, more wind protection.An extra cylinder with 60 bhp would hv made the perfect choice. KTM 490 perhaps?

    People upset about looks. It is made for a specific purpose. Most adventure bikes don't look pretty. Get a faired sports bike if you want a good looking bike.

    KTM 390 Adventure is a very capable entry level tourer and in the 650/750 cc range is v-storm 650.

    well i love this bike but I feel ktm should have improved the ground clearance because its a adventure bike

      200mm is quite decent. Besides which, more GC= more seat height

      @@enjoy673 not compared to Himalayan nor 310gs which both have 220mm. 200mm ground clearance is okish for an adv bike but for a city or tourer its good enough.

      Yeah that's right! Even though it is not reliable, it can do much tougher off-road.

    I'm a long distance traveler and I can't wait to try this motorcycle! Can't comment until I've tried it myself. But it does sound promising.

    Also a point to be noted in my opinion is that a spoke wheel absorbs far more shocks than a alloy one thus transferring less of the jolting forces on the handlebar.
    I donno if this stands perfectly true because I have myself never driven hardcore off-road.

      It does, but spoked wheels have their own issues. They run tubed tyres which are a massive pain to fix when you get a puncture. You can get spoked rims that support tubeless tyres, but these are very expensive. Alloys will be nicer for the more casual adv rider, someone this bike is aimed directly at.

    General question: why are KTMs usually unreliable?? Like engine shut down abruptly Or electronics failure when everything is going fine..... KTM being such a big brand just can't manufacture such unreliable bikes....

    I rode gs310 it's very comfortable and high quality. Hope this is comfortable as well otherwise I wait for benelli trk or 402s

    I think this adv has beaten any other bikes in this segment when it comes to price and practicality. No bike is perfect but this is close.

    I don't know what is the obsession with offroading. this bike as you clearly see is not ready for hardcore off roading at all. Though it looks perfectly capable to take on Indian roads and a comfortable hwy cruising with all the new gadgetry.

      Fixing a puncture with tubed tyres on spoked wheels is a massive pain. And tubeless style spoked rims are very expensive.

      Yes, 10 points ajustment option is there at the rear wp apex mono suspension.

    KTM goofed up on many fronts:
    Less ground clearance, idiotically high seat height, no shorter gear ratios, no bigger tank, poor suspension travel, no spoke wheels!

    I had just booked 390 Duke I had see the adventure. I like it but not I'm using activa 4g I'm upgrade to 390 I'm little bit confused now after see the 390 adventure and my height is 5.6 I can touch my one leg on ground other one is on air for a half feet what u suggest me to buy can tell me ?

      You should be able to just about manage, but it wont be easy in tricky off-road or city traffic conditions. You'll find the Duke much easier to handle.

    Duke 390 with adventure face. We wanted true adventure bike. Gear Ratio is same suspension is not upto mark for offroading than why they named it aventure i have no idea. its just a cruiser with adventure name.

      Agreed, it's not ideal or built for pure off-road, but it will still take you quite far off the beaten path. Just not as effortlessly as we'd have liked. But it is much more than a dressed up Duke

    Loads of electronics, but what's the use? Engine is not reliable, no SPOKE WHEELS and no LOW-END TORQUE. And don't even start with 855mm seat height. I would buy problematic HIMALAYAN instead of this.
