    As long as they're kept in healthy, clean and suitable environments. They have every need to be in captivity. In the next 10 years these animals will not be roaming the earth. Other than the captive ones.
    Being held in a good captivity means being bred in healthy environments which then gives us more animals.
    I definitely approve of this.
    They are not being hunted.
    They are not being starved.

      I know this guy is doing something good and I have nothing against it...maybe the only way to save these animals is to keep them in cages, feed them and take care of them but by doing that they will change and they won't be what they are meant to be...predators.They will just become "cats" the ones we have at home. In my opinion any lion or tiger that is playing and cuddling with humans is not a lion anymore...it just looks like one.

      JICM25 - Sadly, yes. ._.

    • @WhiteWolfos
      @WhiteWolfos 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      JICM25 In the US for example there are over 10K tigers while in the wild there are less than 3k due to 2/3rds of territory cuts from meat imports/production and palm oils. Yes, meat(Mainly cow) and palm oil consumption is a growing factor to their demise as well as many other endangered animals.
      Tiger attacks are rare with cheetahs being the rarest(more docile than house cats!). That said, it is a huge commitment with a large cost of caring for these animals. Generally US owners have their tigers well cared for.

    • @AlexanderHarris

Much respect to you Sir and keep up the good work!!! :)

    • @asian94girl
      @asian94girl 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Alasska Luna Agree, that's why I'm more happy to see these wild animals in captivity being well cared for and loves than in the wild being shot as a trophy. Like he said, where is the wild, where is the wild that these animals live in?

    • @alasskaluna2446
      @alasskaluna2446 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +asian94girl very true. And at least when they have a good situation in captivity, they avoid the worst elements of survival in the wild. They have great food on tap, no painful injuries, no losing their young to other predators, no starving during the dry season etc. I've watched a lot of wildlife documentaries and it's bloody harrowing stuff. It's really hard not to feel that the ones being properly cared for by humans - with adequate space and enrichment - are better off than their fully-wild counterparts!! Complete freedom in the wild may be the best and most natural thing for them, but it sure comes at a high price.

      they aren't affraid by humans, they are too social (with other big cats of other species) as they also lost their predatory skills. They could'nt be put back in the wild without having them coming in nearby villages (to be feed by humans and/or to eat humans). In such situation, captivity is the better thing to do. Also, they are almost extinct species (or severly in danger), so to keep some living specimens in captivity giving us the opportunity to save their species (like it been done by the past).
      So don't think that it's cruel... because they are well feed, they have fun all together, they receive really good cares and love from that guy (+ a squad of vets) and they'll probably save their own kind that way. If someone think that it's cruel, i'd suggest them to go in a pig or a chicken farm instead.

      He's overly confident in a bond that is not natural. Aside from when people rescue wild, orphaned animals, it's just wrong for people to own these animals. The risk of tragedy is too high. He owns them and plays with them because he WANTS to...not because these animals need to be in his care. There are big cat sanctuaries and zoos that are better able to provide both proper care and a safe way to view these animals without walking up to them.

    I know people always say "they're dangerous, they can kill you if they want!" Yes, but the thing is, when you raise them, and you feed them, they DON'T want to. If you take care of them, they're intelligent enough to understand that without you they're doomed, and they love you for that. The biggest part of dealing with big cats (or any animal for that matter) is that, if you show them, that you're afraid, they see you as a challenge, and they don't back down. Big cats, and even like, wolves, bears, foxes, etc, all can create the same bond with you that they would with their family. But you have to be willing to be on their level, don't be a human, try to feel as they do, be as they are, and "become" the animal, and you can create these bonds with any animal. I do it all the time out in the wild with birds, squirrels, feral cats, random dogs etc. They may have killer instincts, but if you don't pose a reason for their instincts to kick in, you will be completely safe.

      Razatiger Ault That's nonsense. Lions regularly outweigh even the heaviest species of Tigers. Even big cat expert Peter Jackson concedes that there is some discrepancy about which cat is actually bigger.

    • @razatiger22
      @razatiger22 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      MasterC2121 where the fuck are you getting your facts from? just because on average there are more remaining Lions than Siberian tigers, does not mean that the average lion is bigger than a Siberian. Bone structure going down to canines, claws and overall muscle mass, the Siberian tigers frame is larger than a Barbary lion, now if you want to argue against hard evidence ill call you a fool, in captive, Siberian tigers regularly grow above 700 pounds, while that would be considered a big lion. I have had friends who worked at zoos and told me that their siberian tigers consume more food than their lions to keep their mass up, tigers are solitary stealthy ambush predator, so they have to be amazingly powerful, lions are pack predators and sacrifice power for a more slender build to conserve more stamina and speed. a Tiger has a deadlier bite, stronger paw swipe and a farther leap, this evidence cannot be denied because it is not theory, it is fact. good day.

    • @MasterC2121
      @MasterC2121 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Razatiger Ault Bro...you can't be serious? Did you not hear the man in the clip describe his 700 pound Tiger as being above average? Secondly, it is fallacious to say that Lions don't regularly reach the same size. For example, the Lion that I was talking about, named Zamba, weighed 700 pounds as well. It is actually a big myth that Tigers are bigger; otherwise the two species wouldn't overlap in size. So yes, good day!

    • @razatiger22
      @razatiger22 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MasterC2121 above average for a Siberian in general yes, but not in captive, my toronto zoo has 4 siberian tigers all over 700 pounds, the biggest being 830 pounds. Also you don't understand how arugments work, you must give me fact that this is the case not your word, it is already clearly documented that a siberian tiger is the largest feline on the planet. unless you have scientific research, your theory is as good as dead.

      they don't love him back. it is very rare that a human creates a true bond with a predatory cat...especially this size. I think the lion is more likely to bond because they are social cats which is rare in the feline world. I don't want any harm to come to him but think it's reckless to interact with some of nature's top predators. these animals would be better off at a sanctuary or game reserve where they can live a more free existence.

    • @ParodyAccount_
      @ParodyAccount_ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Hallie Horn "they don't love him back"?
      Proof?

    • @halliehorn7523
      @halliehorn7523 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      A tiger will kill it's own cub once it's mature if they bump into them. People have begun to assign so many human emotions to animals. I love animals and do feel they are capable of emotions we once previously didn't attribute to them, but they can't think in the same way as a person. They have some capacity for affection, but instinct is stronger. A cat is generally a solitary animal. I believe, as I said, that there are rare cases where a tremendous bond can form but not as often as people who believe they have that bond. Google the tv show fatal attractions...animal planet I think. That show barely scratches the surface of the many, many privately owned dangerous animals in the US. It's scary that animals like lions and tigers are easier to get, with fewer regulations, than a dog in many states. Many animals who supposedly loved their owners, turned on and killed them. I'm honestly not criticizing you or your opinion. I truly feel badly that, due to greed, people breed animals that should never be a pet. There are so many dogs and cats euthanized each year because people are irresponsible and don't realize that buying a pet is a 10-20 year responsibility (more in some types of pets). At least when these get loose they rarely pose a significant risk to people. I've read so many sad stories and just think that, if you love something truly, you want the best for it and that might be giving it up.

The story said they list themselves as a "non-profit education center," so besides whatever admission they charge, they don't pay taxes on that income-- you pay their taxes in forms of whatever gov. subsidies they get. That's how people live off shady "non-profits" of all kinds, which are rampant in Florida, by the way.

      Rudy_Eila They actually have a contract with a grocery store that sells them close to expired meat that is no longer legal to sell for human consumption. The meat comes at a greatly reduced price, and helps to prevent wasting so much meat in today's society. That's how the majority of big cat sanctuaries are able to feed their animals.

    In most cases it's wrong to keep exotic animals but these cats genuinely seem well cared for and socialized. They don't pose a risk like a big cat that is raised in captivity by people who don't bother to learn their behaviors or give the cats an opportunity to use their instincts. As so many of these type of animals are losing their habitats it's people like this that will keep these cats from extinction whether you like it or not.

      Maddy :x The average for Amur or Siberian Tigers is 600 to 650 pounds. I'm quite sure Samson doesn't have to skip many meals...and they are the biggest cats on the planet.

      IIRC, tigers do have a stronger bite and been known to kill lions, with documented events in zoos and circus.

    • @MosheAlvarez
      @MosheAlvarez 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally no, Siberian Tigers rarely get to that weight in the wild. Some Male Lions can get as big as 600 lbs. in captivity but you never really see a Lion weigh that much in the wild.
