"That was heart shaped". "Did he just flip him off?". That's the reason I prefer youtubers over streamers - they pay attention to the game, not the stream chat - picking up on the little things.
Given the appearance, those Cryptobiotes are modeled after Tardigrades - actual animals, only 100 times smaller in size compared to the game. They are known to survive just about any kind of exposure, but their nutritional value is yet to be explored.
My understanding is that the red X you see when you scan things represent a rough terrain and yellow is kinda rough , blue represents terrain that won't cause you to trip too much, loving the play-through, thanks for all the videos!
Seems like two days have passed between Sam dying and Sam waking up at Bridges HQ. And "two days" means 48 hours. Could it be that necrosis and repatriation are two sides of the same coin? With normal people going necro and spawning BT, and repatriates getting an extra life instead?
You pretty much already got it but from what I heard, the more you're carrying on your back the more it helps to keep both triggers pressed at all times. Makes sense since this is a realistic trekking simulation, holding your backpack shoulder straps helps keeping your balance when it's really heavy. ps: love how he carries 55kg like it's nothing though :P
Well, the game obviously exaggerate things, but ancient roman soldiers were believe to carry around 45kg of wepons, armor, tools and camp-building materials while marching, so maybe it's not THAT much far-fetched.
Nao Mon Yeah, if your load shows yellow or even red then holding your shoulder straps is pretty much required. It also helps a ton of harder terrain (that also shows as yellow and red when you scan it).
@@pedrogonzaleznunez2197Military equipment (with the backpack) is a bit over 30 kg. You get to have go through different terrains wearing it and even sprint or carry someone else while wearing it, so it's not impossible. Later on in the game Sam's carrying like 200kg, now THAT is a bit over the top lol
Hey, glad to see that you're playing Death Stranding (and also that it's your first time experiencing a Kojima game haha). It's like a movie and a game in one xD For the BTs, I'd advise you to go slow, which is what you're doing so that's good :D. As long as the scanner is blue and doesn't blink too much, you're good to continue moving without holding your breath. You'll only see BTs when you stop moving and breathing. Don't worry too much about the noise (unless you've decided to stand up and run), just focus more on your breathing and scanner. Others have already commented about the blue, yellow, red marks whenever you scan. Think of it like traffic lights. Blue (green) = good to go. Yellow = caution. Red = stop/no go. So it's good to scan your environment often (especially on rivers) until you can figure out the terrain with the naked eye lol. I won't say anything else since it's good to find and learn for yourself :) Been really enjoying your playthrough so far and how deeply you're thinking into the story!
Don't quote me on this but I think the world map it is based on Iceland's landscape. The blue dots means its easy to walk on, yellow is medium red is very hard to walk on terrain. You cannot build stuff just yet and what you see now is NPC build, I believe you will need internet connection to see other people builds and to help as well. The baby lamp as you called it helps you see the direction and how close the BTs are, when it goes nuts is because they are very close and taht is whe you need to hold your breath
BTW, when you've got some free time and have Sam sitting in his room try zooming the camera on his crotch for a while for some funny reactions. Something kinda similiar to 2B's reaction when you zoom upskirt in Nier Automata, but much better here lmao.
What I'm most confused about now is actually the seeming lack of real reaction from Sam to any of what's been revealed here. I mean he learns that the woman who raised him (his mother) and whom he hasn't seen in 10 years (?) is not only dying of cancer but is now called President of America (sth he doesn't believe in). I'd be kinda shocked, you know? But what we see from him is maybe very slight surprise/confusion. And then he sees her and doesn't even acknowledge the whole thing. He doesn't say much anyways and she just starts cryptically talking about sth in the past. And then she jumps on him, oozing black substance (which I think must be very disturbing) and apart from his eyes going a little wide no reaction. Also the moment when th two guys with the ridiculous code names tell him, that she has made a contract with him without his consent and that he's now tasked with a mission to unite the remaining cities (sth he doesn't believe in!). I'd be super pissed and refuse to do it. Like they would have to sedate me to stop my rage and then they'd have to work really hard to convince me to do it. But once again Sam just kinda rolls with it not saying anything. I really have no idea what he's thinking about all of that. (he's a bit like Link XD)
The exposition in this is so weird. Sam acts like he doesn't know stuff until the expository dialogue reminds him of stuff he was supposed to already know.
41:36 sounded like you cursed in Japanese or something? :D Also Sam carrying around heavy stuff all the time gotta be really bad for his back... Poor guy
The location scounting for the landscape was done in Iceland, so yes, at least some of it should mirror Iceland. It is really beauiful. As a tip, when you're carrying a lot, try holding the triggers to steady yourself. Just keep them pressed down to avoid any stumbles. In regards to the President and Amelie looking alike/being the same actress, that's partly true. However I beleive Amelie is voiced by a different actress, so the looking alike thing might just be because it's her daughter. After all we don't really see the President when she was young. That's my current theory anyway, although I'm not 100% on it because I don't at all trust what's going on in this game, haha. Also Amelie makes me think "I'm a lie"... More tips! You don't have to hold your breath when you walk through BT's, only when they get near you. If you stop and hold still, the BT's will appear, so you can try and find openings to pass through them. Just try not to panic and you'll be fine. If you do get seen and they try and grab you, hold the tiggers and keep pressing square to escape, get out of the tar, and then crouch again. You should be okay that way. Igor is the CD guy you met at the beginning, yes. And yes, the baby cried because it doesn't like being submerged in water. And also when you get grabbed by BT's, they leave prints on things, hence the prints on your back.
1. Talk about a cult of personality. The movement would die without the leader? Doesn't sound like a movement with too strong of a human foundation. 2. A city in the middle of this apocalyptic nightmare. And there's at least one very specific action with known very bad effects. And a known way to counteract it. And in the end, they don't have corpse disposal? Or they're already engaged currently? Or wait, are they afraid of the team asking questions about the corpse? One would think that corpse disposal as an essential service would be under stricter control.
It seems from my observations, that unburnt corpses 'merely' become BT's. But it seems that if a BT then manages to capture and consume a still-living person, like the guy frantically trying to stab himself to death last episode, then the entire area just gets annihilated. So of course, leaving a corpse around a populated area when they turn necro would have basically the same effect as if it was the one exploding itself.
One question: how in the heck did that thing fit through that tiny broken window!? Loved the heart from the baby, guess it really appreciated Welonz company :D
I imagine that they are basically made of living smoke, or perhaps a tar-like liquid - it needs a open space to break in, but it does not have to be a *big* space.

My favourite thing about Kojima productions is the film occasionally pauses and lets you play in the world for a few minutes.
The direction of the blinker shows where the nearest BT is. Only hold your breath when you're near them. When it becomes yellow.
33:20 - I don't know about Iceland, we have a lot of this type of nature here in Norway though. But rarely do we pack 120kg's of gear.
