The original creator's lore is that Shelk has it out for Skarrik and Rasknitt. In general he has an obsession with power and using it "the right way", that soldiers should use it to smite their foes and leaders should use it bring their subordinates to victory. Being Skaven he always thinks everyone else is using it wrong. In fairness, between the near-disaster of the Ubersreik campaign and repeated attempts on his life, Shelk was right to have it out for Rasknitt and Skarrik and even organized a rebellion, but failed. Shelk would absolutely end up coming to blows with the others by the end of it, either taking one of them, or then taking him. However, I refuse to believe Pusfume will. Pusfume is a good boy and would stay with the 5.
@@PANCAKEMINEZZ Funny you mention that; core to the relationship between Shelk and Bardin is that the only reason they tolerate one another's continued existence is because they've agreed to a duel to the death once 'all is said and done'. They both kind of admit that it's unlikely either will live to the end of it, but the satisfaction both would have from landing the killing blow is so heavy for the both of them that they absolutely will not allow the other to fall by anyone's hand except theirs lol However, assuming that the U5 spare Shelk after all was said and done and they did win, in my mind, Shelk would become an agent of Saltzpyre's/Lohner's, a sort of spy or plant. There's no way Saltz/Lohner would give up on a useful asset such as Shelk, at least not fully, and with Shelk not having much of a 'home' to go to, he may very well not have much of a choice. Tim Bentinck is a legend, the fact that he is so in touch with his fanbase that he readily gives his voice to be enjoyed outside of the game. It's like Him and Nathan Vetterlein know that interacting with the fanbase can be a lot of fun for everyone.
Yo when Shelk caught that arrow...righteous... Pusfume made it back. Surprised he can still speak after meeting Vergil and trying to take the chair. What a time to be alive. Also love the facial expressions and movements of the rest of the 5.
Sadly it will never happen. Man-things can dream though. Shelk and Pusfume being the hilariously disfunctional token Skaven of the group that drives Saltzspyre to frustrated madness is a dynamic I can happily get behind. Reading the backstory and call-outs. I love Shelk’s tsundere attitude to the 5, though a little surprised at how un-skaven he is. He’s even less skaveny than Queek. The idea that he thinks Kruber’s moustache are long whiskers is hilarious. His fixation on a duel with Bardin is interesting yet flies in the face of typical Skaven cowardly behaviour. I doubt they even have a word for a duel. Probably the thing that caught me most off guard is when he says he’ll take up Kerillian’s count if she dies, even if he has no idea what the significance is, which is… heartwarming yet confusing.
With the power of Janfon, the Shelk and Pusfume wombo combo from Saltzpyre's worst hells can become real. And I hope it will tbh lol Yeah, Shelk is definitely not as Skaven-y as most others are, which is somewhat intended. My approach with Shelk wasn't just to make a Skaven character, forced to do things against his will, though that is the exact situation he finds himself in. Instead, he is a more, I guess you can say, 'mature' look into a Skaven and their way of thinking. At his core, Shelk is a neurotic and paranoid rat, who expects a backstab or a betrayal at any moment while constantly looking up. This kind of thinking got him ahead in his nest, and got him to be the Chieftain of Fester, but now? Well, there's no threat of death that he has to worry about; he's made himself too useful for the U5 to kill. This, coupled with Shelk's weird relationship with power (to tl;dr it, Shelk is the kind of guy to respect and follow you if you do something right, but if you do it wrong, he'll instantly take over and 'do it right', even if he doesn't) has him see the U5 in a different light, often taking twisted enjoyment in pointing out how his 'best' tendencies are the U5's worst. In regards to Bardin, I am not sure if it is in the lore doc, it may be entirely missing, but Shelk and Bardin barely tolerate each other's existence. So instead, they've come to a compromise; they'll tolerate each other's presence, but in return, once the Pactsworn are done, they'll have a duel to the death. And he is fixated on this because he knows it'll be a long time until there's even a chance it can happen, and he's kind of hoping it doesn't even happen, but his instinct to keep up a mask of a brutal, unwavering warrior gets in the weay. As for Kerillian, Shelk just sees it as a killcounter. He doesn't know why she was counting her kills, nor does he care. He assumes it had some importance to her, so he will continue it should the worst come to pass. Those lines, hopefully, hint that Shelk may be viewing the U5 differently than as useful assets to his Great Plan...not that he'd ever insinuate that, of course. Anyhow, thanks for reading and watching, I hope you enjoyed it!
You know, it would be interesting if even the Lizardmen show up within the Vermintide's storyline. Mainly due to how bad the skaven infestation is with each city being burned, destroyed, or being occupied by their massive forces. Their "old rivalry" would be ignited once again. Olesya would definitely know them based on what she has told to Kruber during the pilgrimages within the Chaos Wastes. Plus Lohner, as mysteriously informed he is, would have plan to have the lizardmen attacking the skaven. Plus it would be fun seeing either a Temple Guard or Kroxigor vs a Rat Ogre, Minotaur, Bile Troll, or Chaos Spawn.
@@user-xu1fp6sp3k Not if Nakai the Wanderer has anything to say about that. That Kroxigor Ancient will go wherever he is needed, so long as the Great Plan requires him to go to that spot.

Out of all the skaven this one (probably from clan mor ) makes the most sense as clan mor skaven have a twisted sense of honor it's even said that if something happens to disrupt clan mor operations the on responsible is to be killed and charged with high treason
Judging from the description where he lists down tim bentick's website and given that he has in fact made him read stuff before, I guess he got Tim Bentick to read Saltzpyre's lines and then ripped the rest of the U5 lines from the game.
I definitely would've expected a harsh reaction from Bardin saying Saltzpyres "has grown soft". Maybe he really has? Or he really is a whole lot more open minded than anyone else. P.S : I was in love with Saltzpyre ... Now I am also in love with Tim Bentinck's passion and dedication. ❤
Janfon1-produced, fully GW/FS-licensed Vermintide feature film when?
The usage of that particular Sienna line about ‚being exotic’ is a bit disturbing if you know where it came from and how it‘s used… Good work Janfon!
cool detail when the door closes shelk is restrained. Frees himself gets his gear then just walks out with saltspire fully knowing it would happen
Tim Bentinck is a legend, the fact that he is so in touch with his fanbase that he readily gives his voice to be enjoyed outside of the game. It's like Him and Nathan Vetterlein know that interacting with the fanbase can be a lot of fun for everyone.
2:49 Basically...
Saltzpyre: If Lohner gets to have skaven pets/insiders then I should too!
YEES, now we have two rats yes-yes!
catches an arrow point blank breaks it then laughs to assert dominance over the pointy eared tree lover... what an absolute badass lol
Remove elf
You deliver as always :D
This is amazing as usual. It can't get any better.
4:40 Never mind, it just got better.
Yo when Shelk caught that arrow...righteous...
Pusfume made it back. Surprised he can still speak after meeting Vergil and trying to take the chair.
What a time to be alive.
Also love the facial expressions and movements of the rest of the 5.
Not gonna lie, read everything for this character and the dialogue. Hope to see FatShark give your characters a chance. This is very impressive.
Man's gonna bully FS into making yet more Vermintide content yet again.
Wonderful Framing and Composition!
I love the entire Skaven fan-made projects of both, Shelk and Pusfume.
But the way Saltzpyre died of cringe in the end made my whole day!
This and a Versus mode would kill in vermintide 2
Janfon over here making the whole versus mode
great work Janfon! These are really coming together, and i wonder whats next.
Simply incredible. You’ve come such a long way my man.
And I hope it will tbh lol
Yeah, Shelk is definitely not as Skaven-y as most others are, which is somewhat intended.

Indeed. Wishing it was a genuine thing honestly.
It would be cool yes, but unfortunately lizardmen are cold blooded and wouldn't be able to survive in helmgart or the chaos wastes.
@@user-xu1fp6sp3k Just give it a coat duh

Not if Nakai the Wanderer has anything to say about that.
That Kroxigor Ancient will go wherever he is needed, so long as the Great Plan requires him to go to that spot.
Kerillians expression at 1:20 is so good man.
Love your work!
imagine a rat with a human brain inside of it, like Ghoritch , just without the body modding. Maybe even a norscan marauder.
Nice to see that Pusfume has a raki friend now! I could definitely imagine them having a sibling-like relationship, albeit a more bickering and fight-y one.
I love the creativity! This is way better than it has any right to be lol.
Amazing as always Janfon
the music, the dialogue, even the setting and presentation; absolutely INCREDIBLE
GOD i wish this was real, the effort is insane
That whole speech and Kerillian just shoots it in the head xD
Gotta get that green circle in the keep
If this is sienne's fourth career, you know what I ain't even mad
Pusfume: clan skyre
Shelk: clan mors
Now we need eshin, moulder, and pestilence
Well, Saltz, it seems that being a little more "flexible" in your methods has worked wonders for you
you can only dream
Yes, please keep making these awesome videos and keep up the fantastick animations; makes me love vermintide even more.
Amazing. Well written too. I can only imagine the friendly fire banter lol.
The note about this replacing Siennas fourth career got a good laugh out of me.
10/10 work on this. Holy shit
First Pufsume, now Shelk. All Skaven. I wouldn't be suprised, if there is a Beastmen character in someone's head.
young brey-shaman seeking the true power of beasts (Ghur lore) and is willing to help the OG Ubersreik 5 to get their fuzzy palms on some seriously potent magical artifacts that these adventurers seem to constantly come across.
Oh, I see each rat is their own class. Shelk is the more tank while Pusfume is more of an engineer long ranged, I wonder who'll fill in the role for a damage dealer, maybe a Gutter Runner or a mini Rat ogre
I’m loving this idea hope they implement into the game
I am waiting for a skink hero trailer. I NNNEEEEDDD ITTT!!
Out of all the skaven this one (probably from clan mor ) makes the most sense as clan mor skaven have a twisted sense of honor it's even said that if something happens to disrupt clan mor operations the on responsible is to be killed and charged with high treason
He caught a fucking Elf arrow. He's OP. :P
You never fail to make amazing vermintide content
did you get the actual voice actors for this trailer? their voices are amazing
Judging from the description where he lists down tim bentick's website and given that he has in fact made him read stuff before, I guess he got Tim Bentick to read Saltzpyre's lines and then ripped the rest of the U5 lines from the game.
I think he uses voicelines from both the games, as well as unused ones.
ANOTHER? man you are talented
I definitely would've expected a harsh reaction from Bardin saying Saltzpyres "has grown soft". Maybe he really has? Or he really is a whole lot more open minded than anyone else.
Anyway, another awesome animation! Only tiny jank I noticed was the walking animation of the 3 as they came to the cell, everything else was spotless!
Hate you for making me want another class that's never gonna come out unless GW does a complete 180! xD
But that's like asking a dwarf to drop his grudges or an elf to not look down on others, so yeah that's never gonna happen. :(
Honestly would be so awesome to play as a skaven character. Lot's more ways to interact with your team too
the Council of Thirteen approve of this yes-yes
The "(And Darktide)" had me dieing
Opening scene makes me think about the cinematic from Warcraft3 where the human and Orc fight before the Burning Legion arive.
best idea presentation. Very inspirational for creativity. My respects to you
I love all of your work but this is extra cool in that this piece makes Victor an *even more* interesting character, thereby elevating the original work!
I could watch your channel all day. And I will! Tomorrow is Saturday and I don't have to do any work! haha
3:19 He bad af 🔥
Great job :)
Old Saltz is becoming Yellow Fang cultist it seems, good-good!
Janfon1 you never cease to amaze me with your ever growing animation skills! I love it! Can't wait to see what you'll do for Darktide! :D
Itd be a dream to play a skaven in vermintide... amazing
By the gods above and below, i want that as an actual dlc, i allways said that "no a skaven hero cant work" and currently im trying to stuff those words back into my throat
Nate put a ton of effort into the design documents, I like what he came up with too
This is really well done. Great work
Pusfume has friend-friend now
