Thank you! Great list ! I have 3 daughters and we love listening to audio books together but I hadn't heard of many of these and was reminded of some old favorites! ❤
Boxcar Children and Trizie Belden were my favorites! Trixie some were better than others- red trailer mystery and glen road have LOTS of the horseback riding! and that was my favorite part! and trixie isn't perfect- has to babysit, complains about chores, and I DO think she gets the 'girl work' but that's the time it was written and no air conditioning LOL! but the adventures are fun. she had different authors so depends on which you get- some I didn't like at all but others YES! I read and read and read
Best Family Ever is now on my list! I'm also going to pull the Konigsburg from the shelf in put on the tbr list. Thank you for sharing these great titles!
Oh my son devoured the Boxcar Children series. He can't get enough of them. :-). The Secret Garden was a favorite for my daughter. She fell in love with that one around 4th/5th grade. We've never read The Mixed Up Files, but I think I'm adding that one to my list now. We just couldn't get into the Penderwicks. I wanted to like it so much, but it was just too flat for us.
ohh we loved Book Scavenger! I am amazed at how many of these Sam and I have read or listened to. The few that we haven't I am thinking he would still really enjoy. I am adding Princess Academy, Bliss, and Rain Reign to our TBR! We loved The Penderwicks, The Boxcar Children, Little House in the Big Woods (we haven't read anymore of that series but I think I need to fix that), The Secret Garden (I was surprised my son loved this as much as he did, The Island of Blue Dolphins, The Witches (and Matilda), and Sam liked The Mixed up Files (it wasn't my favorite). I too and not a big Romona fan but we did like Henry Huggins! We are reading Fever of 1793 and really liking that (as in I think we read for over an hour today). Then we just started A Night Divided in the car today and we both got hooked right away (this is a post WWII in East Berlin story so might be on the mature side).
Ha, we've got such similar book-ish taste! I read A Night Divided a couple of years ago and loved it. I don't think my daughter is quite ready for it but it's one I am going to try to get my hands on so we have it when she is. Fever 1793 is one I keep an eye out for when I go to the thrift stores, I think I'll buy it from BookOutlet when I place my next order.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Very nice selection..
I had that same edition of The Secret Garden, I don’t remember much of the story but will never forget the cover art 💜 (also loved the Ramona books 😊)

Thank you Chantel, so good, I have been waiting for this video to come since you did the boys list! 💕
I hope you find some books from here that you like!
I read the Book Scavenger series this year and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the list, I just added some to our family tbr.
I am enjoying the Book Scavenger so much! I hope you enjoy the books you added to your TBR!

Have you read The Vanderbeeker's? That's a good alternative to The Penderwicks.
