Turtle - my HEROINE! 32,406 credits! You did it! You're alive! We can't find ladies with so much spunk in the U.K! They all ride out with their husbands on tiny tiny bikes in the dry. No comparison!

Your a legend Whit. Checklist TICK. You rode to your limits & the conditions. An inspiration to all. Well done. Wet roads can be most difficult to manage, what with leaves, sap, branches, soft edges & rain just to name a few of the considerations for a safe ride. Congrats.

You follow the first rule - ride your own ride. You actually have the best coverage of the dragon because we can actually see the ride, unlike the fools who post videos of their friend scraping floorboards and making lots of noise. I respect you more as a rider for knowing what your plan is going into the ride. Take it easy and enjoy the ride for all the reasons we learn to ride recreationally. Thank you for another first class video!

I always say Ride Your Own Ride and you did an amazing job riding the Tail! I rode it the same way with Mrs. HDR on the back of the bike. Besides if you go too fast you would never set to see all of the scenery. And there is a little shop at the end where you came out they didn't have as much but did have a few stickers. Very nice to see you out and enjoying the ride even in the rain. You are one of my super heroes! Ride Safe

Everyone i know that rides the dragon is on bagger also. Im confident in my riding curves, not inclines tho I live in a flat part if the country. I worry more about the reckless thrill seekers on the road at the same time im on it. You did great. Enjoyed the ride safely. Good job. Thanks for posting.

The only reason so many people crash on the tail of the dragon is because they ride way too fast and far exceed their riding abilities. Ride your own ride and don’t try to push it or show off is always good advice.

Perfectly ridden! The reason the tree of shame is so well decorated is because some folks think they are in a Moto GP race..haha! It takes me a long time too, but....I do like to stop at most of the overlooks. I recently did the Back of the Dragon and had a car come around the corner in my lane...so it was a good thing I was going slow (I also had a passenger), got it all on video too. Ride safe.

It wasn’t until 2002/2005 that the speed limit was lowered to 30 MPH. In 1993 it was lowered to 40 MPH. That would explain a lot of the bike parts on the Tree of Shame. They started piling up decades ago. A 50 MPH switchback is a little difficult to take, and lends to that being one of the most dangerous roads in the world. Kudos on another great video, and on braving the bigger bike.

Well done little miss......and on a rainy day. Well done indeed. I can answer your question on how they crashed,,,,,,, going and riding above their abilities and far too fast. I have ridden it and driven it and sometimes, it is out of control. Most riders respect other riders. If someone is disrespecting you for what you riding, well it's their loss. I think ladies riding is awesome. The more people out there the better. After all, it's an adventure, and we all should enjoy the ride. Roll on little miss Roll on.

@@whitmeza your impressive in your trips. My wife loves your videos. Before all the distance travel started (1995) 4 of us rode from Kentucky to Southern most point Key West Florida, then back to White Horse, Alaska, then back to Kentucky. Was a journey with friends that I remember so fondly. Those friends are dead now. From one thing or another, and I think of them and that trip so often. Take those trips and make those memories. They can carry you in trying times. You take care now.

Pretty ride! Both the bike and the view lol. What did you think of the GPS? I've heard some iffy stuff. I still love the bike, though. I'll likely buy a used one with a stage 4 kit from my dad's friend when I get more experience. Even straight stock, those are hefty beasts.
New follower! I'm a transplant from Doodle. I bought her calendar, and I wanted to start with the women who ride cruisers since that is what I'm into. lol Can defiantly hear that northern accent. I rented my first touring bike and did the Cherohala Skyway in drizzle weather. Once I climbed in elevation the fog set in and I could not see beyond five feet in front of me, talk about a white knuckle ride. Then I took the Dragon back. Half way in, I got behind a propane delivery truck that did 5 mph around some curves. If it wasn't for the MSF course, I probably would have crashed. Years later after buying a street glide and riding many times in the area, north Georgia and west N.Carolina, I would prefer a smaller bike for those roads.
You crawled on those roads but you didn't crash and that means you did well. Seen my share of crashes on the Dragon through the years. Speed, reckless riding/driving, not knowing how to ride and inexperience are the main reasons folks crash and die. The dragon claims about 7 lives and hundreds of wrecks a year. Don't ever under estimate those roads up there. Ever get a chance, talk to the police that patrol the area and the wrecker service. They will tell you some stories, they have seen it all.

Nice video got to see stuff for more that 2 seconds. The people who crash are going fast and or not able to handle the speed usually. A sport bike would be so much fun but if you don't have the skills to ride that fast in the corners (the whole point of the dragon) you are just on a sport bike looking cool. I want to go there so bad but I am on the west coast so 2000 miles away. Go watch the videos on youtube of the people riding the dragon and you will see how fast they go. Thanks for showing us we don't have to go fast to have fun on two wheels :)
