@Jack Beanstalk hey jack I know life Is difficult and it may seem impossible at times but God Loves you and has surrounded you with people who love you as well, I know exactly where you are coming from because I personally been there, I couldn’t walk, couldn’t use the restroom, I have to rely on everyone for everything, life is still very hard but i will never give up because I know God is here for me and everyone else who seeks him. Please stay strong brother

I hope you are on the mend quickly from the UTI. AD is a medical emergency associated with headaches from bladder distention. Consider getting a BP monitor and take Trinity’s BP every 8 hrs or so.
autonomic dysreflexia, it happens on people with spinal cord injuries. typically because of discomfort. He might just need to void sooner or it can be a piece of clothing is too tight, etc. Essentially anything that would just feel uncomfortable for someone without a spinal cord injury and we would be able to feel, except he's unable to do so and the headache is his way of alerting his body to the discomfort.
you should think about getting a suprapubic cystostomy to make your life easier. that'll allow you to drink plenty of fluids/water and take care of your bladder. i'm also a c4-c5 complete quad for 23 years now and 10 yrs of those i was doing intermittent catherization and was constantly getting uti's to the point of developing kidney and bladder stones. i drink tons of water now and don't worry about catheterizing especially when i'm out and about. hang in there and good luck with the channel.

The headaches you are experiencing is called autonomic dysreflexia if you don’t know about this you should Google it it’s very important that you understand it. It sounds like the reason why you are experiencing a D is because you have a UTI. I’ve been injured 34 years if you have any questions or need any help just reach out.
Hi there im interested in knowing more about AD. My husband in injured at L1 has been having headaches since yesterday. Tylenol is not helping. Any suggestions as what we should do? He is also having hot flashes and is currently on antibiotics. Thanks
I’m T10 complete, I don’t really have issues with AD but I get incredibly spastic and headaches when something’s going on. I make sure I up my water intake and also cath often when I do so. I start feeling better pretty quickly. I hope you can figure out what works for you. I wish I had better info to pass along.

Have you checked Trinidad's blood pressure during his headaches? He could have autonomic dysreflexia. Do the headaches disappear after cathing him? A full bladder is a common cause of causing blood pressure spikes in patients with SCI.
AD should monitor your blood pressure with machine you can buy cheap of net and carry with you some gtn spray just in case, i always have gtn with me in wheelchair pocket, never used it but good to have

idk if you have a doctor who specializes in spinal cord injuries but his headaches are probably linked to high blood pressure. whenever his head starts pounding he should sit up not lay in bed, that’s a really good way to have a stroke. a spinal cord doctor might be able to prescribe you something to lower your blood pressure so that you don’t get the headache. obviously the most important part is to find out what’s causing the problem in the first place. i had a kidney stone that caused similar problems but it could be anything. the fact that he was having trouble during his bowel program could be a sign to start there... but i also don’t know what kind of trouble he was having. if he’s not going then i would bet that’s it. i hope you guys figure out the issue because ive been in his position and those headaches are no joke and seriously dangerous.

Sounds like classic AD (autonomic dysreflexia) symptoms, blood pressure shoots up high given pounding headaches, sweats, spasms etc... most common cause is normally bladder issues, basically our body telling us something isn’t right, so we need to go through a checklist....check Dana and Christopher Reeve website for a great AD printout

@@ludiaosewe4500 sure. I said the autonomic dysreflexia stuff at the very beginning. It's lifet hreatening and sure enough, before I even learned it was a UTI, I said all this. I hope they get help.
Hi, he looks different...did he get a hair cut or something? What a beautiful baby you have.
Cathing issues are often autonomic dysreflexia (AD) and that is a medical emergency. It is usually from a kinked catheter or a distended bladder...which could have been from a kinked catheter. The three hours of sitting on the toilet may be a reason for the autonomic dysreflexia. He may be constipated or something. Bladder and bowels are the number 1 reason for AD. But the pounding headache is generally from high blood pressure...high enough to cause a stroke or seizure. I almost hate to say this, but you live in the south where they may not know about AD...if you take his blood pressure and it's through the roof, this is the problem. By the way, a foley is the WORSE thing for causing UTI's and stuff. Suprapubic catheters are WAY more hygeinic and reversible because they close up really fast. They have implants for condom catheters...but those are way better than a foley. I'm telling you, it's autonomic dysreflexia and the doctors and medical staff often don't know about it unless they educate themselves. I hope he doesn't end up dying. UTI is a reason for autonomic dysreflexia to kick in and I can't believe they put a foley in because they are the number 1 reasons for a UTI. I feel bad for him...poor guy.

You're absolutely right...this quarantine thing is bullcrap. China has a new virus out...that they made in a lab. It was on the news the other day. Until the world accepts this for what it is (germ warfare to get more land because they need more land and space and air (they don't even allow kids in families because the country is so over crowded)), America will just end up destroyed. You do realize, other countries aren't suffering a fraction of what America is, right? I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and there is zero virus here...except for Halifax, which is probably from Americans bringing it here. If you think. no other countries have it...America was targeted (strange how nothing is in China isn't it???)...things move in air and water...not to mention people keep importing stuff from China.
