There are so many ways she could've phrased her distaste that would've saved her a ton of headaches. Specifying your issues, for one thing. It's because she's petite/small and therefore fits the loli bodytype, however since people just assume that loli only means child, they are refusing to call her a loli (even despite studio trigger and in general japanese media calling her a loli). Because of the difference in how Japanese media thinks what a loli is compared to Western media, confusion is created. Since no one wants to be socially and morally canceled, they will try to defend themselves and say things that are painfully obvious, while being completely oblivous to the definition of things. There are so many ways she could've phrased her distaste that would've saved her a ton of headaches. Specifying your issues, for one thing. You can say you have a problem with how the community acts, you can say the oversaturation with other kinks makes you uncomfortable and you wish there was more softer stuff available. You can even say certain characters get on your nerves because of how popular they are. The common factor for all of these is that they are PERSONAL issues, and thus the responsibility is on her to avoid it or accommodate herself. Describing things as personal gripes rather than things you expect other people to do for you (aside from maybe tagging) can go a long way in preventing so much backlash. But people just want that clout so badly.

People base their moral compasses by the people around them, as a way to protect themselves. And that's why I dislike these people having a moral highground, when all their morals surrounding this topic was decided by following a mob of thoughts, when it all is fake anyways.

I wonder if the general disinterest in shotacon when it comes to brigading is due in part by the mindset some people have about that when it comes to read children.
