I have an EPL 4 in this magnification. I am thinking about a hunting scope for my 243, other than the turrets/dials, are they that different optically?
I just received my LH4 6x24x50 about one hour ago! Only took 4 days to get it which I think is pretty great. The scope looks good and I will be mounting it to a 10/22 that is heavily customized. Hoping it does well! I did not get an owners manual with it. Is it supposed to have one? You did a good review! Thanks!
Generally the Arkens do not come with one. But any questions you may have I could prob help out. Yes the higher mag one is now in stock. Make sure keep rings at 15 inch pounds no more.
I feel like the elevation turret should not be capped. I do not want to have to remove the elev cap to dial in a solution on a big Elk and worry about where the dang cap went during the excitement. It should be there to use in a hunting situation. I like the looks, but it seems like you get with the Ep4 what this scope should have been.
Sounds interesting, but since I am unable to get a reply to a warranty service request for my EPL-4, I don't want risk buying another Arken product. Do they actually honor their lifetime warranty? It's been 4 days since my email to them and they have not responded. Disappointing, I thought they were a more honorable company than that.
I ordered mine on December 23- 2023. Still waiting. Finally got in touch with them. As of March 24- 2024, I was told that it might be 4 to 7 weeks more. Not impressed!!
@@RugerGundog the good news is that you shouldn't need to dial at close range. But they are almost to loud. I own 3 Arken scopes so it is not enough that I don't purchase them. Just know the gear.
Beyond disappointed by Arken Optics. I purchased this scope on Dec 1, 2023 and the scope had a 4-6 week lead time. Now the lead time is 6-8 weeks. My order is still "awaiting processing." Emailed them multiple times about an update and a refund, but they've yet answer. In my eyes, this company is more than a disappointment.
I've made some content on inaccuracies of lead times and lack of updates being upsetting. Email response time is only one I can nod to a bit as it's only a couple guys tackling them all. Unfortunately the complaints have continued to increase.
@@RugerGundog I understand it is a couple of people only answering emails, but when you're holding customers money and not replying that's a big issue.
Maybe it's time to report the charge to your credit card company. You have been unable to contact the company for a resolution so let the credit card company handle it. They will remove the charge. If Arken can't handle the email volume, maybe they should stop selling product that is not in stock. Seems like this will eliminate some of the emails about lead time and refunds. That way they can get to emails about defective products that have already been sold and resolve warranty issues.
I have 3 Arken scopes, all delivered on time,,and they all work great. I am very happy with my Arken optics.
Great to hear
I got mine in about 2 weeks mounted it up been to the range twice with it on my M77 in 7/08. Im very pleased!
Great to hear
Been waiting on this one thanks for posting
I will have more detail once mounted over weekend. But so far I'm impressed
just bought one of these today for my AR10 due to this video. Arken should give you a % of the sale. lol.
That would be great!
Thank you they shipped my 6x24!
Did you get it yet?
a 2-10 or 2-12, 12 inch mpvo would be cool, but ohhhh well

Epl4 has claimed better glass and yes exposed elevation turret. The LH are pretty darn nice for the money.
The LH is also 23.7 oz opposed to the 36.6 oz for the SH4J. 13 oz is a lot on a hunting rig.
I do agree!
No zero stop, but can you still set zero after it is sighted in? As in remove turret cap screws and set it without a hard stop?
Yes you can still zero it in traditional way including pull the turret up and align the zero. Tool less also. But no hard stop to prevent spin down.
@Rugergundog so once I zero the rifle I can pull the turrets up and slip the scales?

Where did you order yours from ?
Could you please give us a weight and length of this scope? Spec sheet is not on website yet. Thanks!
Sure can.

I mean you can leave the cap off.

They will reply and will honor it. They have two staff replying to all emails. Upwards of thousands per day. Hang In there They will get back to you.
Edit. The pop up this is a 4-16×44
But when you hunt you do not want noise when clicking and your pray runs away
If you have to make a turret adjustment the target is far away, we'll beyond hearing a click or seeing it made.
MINE DID NOT COME WITH AN OWNERS MANUAL. CAN YOU DO A VIDEO ON SETTING THE ZERO STOP
I have a video in my short section. It's real quick and people love it.
@@RugerGundog thanks
More options is good.
I ordered mine on Nov 1st 2023, here I am Feb 15th 2024 still without my scope.
You sure about that? I don't believe the LH4 was released until later in the month.

Wish i knew if it had their Japanese glass
It is not Japanese glass.
You don’t want the clicks on the turret to be loud when you’re Hunting
If you need to turn a turret the critter is plenty far enough.
@@RugerGundog this is also true
The SH-4 clicks are to loud for Mule Deer or Elk Hunting under 200 yards.
200y hearing those clicks is a bit over zealous. Maybe 30y. Lol
@@RugerGundog do you hunt Mule Deer?

Should have zero stop and be SFP
Sfp wouldn't be a bad idea. Retical is quite small on lower power
Are the crosshairs thicker? My SH had far to thin of a reticle for lower light applications
No but with being ffp the magnification can be spun up a bit to enlarge them.
My 308 is 14 pounds
I have a heavy one too
