Man this set really demonstrates something that I don't think a lot of people understood during the "ban steve" wave. When you play properly around _one_ of Steve's iron options, it forces him to use even more iron to cover his whiff and keep himself safe.
in game 1 acola didn't only 3 stocked anathema with 14%. He literally 0 to game him. Between the moment Acola hit for the first time and the end of the game anathema didn't get a single hit
Honestly really glad that acola learned to stay away from Town and City since his explosive use of iron does not gel well with how little iron is on that stage. That's the stage where a majority of his games lost came from during the Summit
The “ban Steve” losers seem to conveniently forget that Steve has losing matchups (unlike Brawl Meta Knight, Smash 4 Bayo) and also has ways for players to counter him (unlike Wobbling). ROB has been in the game since day 1 and makes his own wall as well with his broken tilts, aerials, Gyro, Laser, and nobody has once said to ban the character. People just need to stop complaining and learn the matchup, like Kola, Light, and Anathema clearly have.
If we get to say what we want: Steve is a betrayal of the game. But that's just my opinion. We ban most hazards during tournaments, so that the characters are fighting each other; not the terrain. Then we make a character who makes his own "hazards" in his favor. Acola is a great player. But to watch him rinse and repeat cart-anvil-fair and _win with it....._
@@neonvpn9485 Absolutely. I'm not saying it's unbeatable. You could have someone play as the Master Hand, and someone would beat it. But Master Hand should not be a character and nor should this mess.
@@HainishMentat yeah but be ban stage hazards not just because they’re powerful, but because they’re random. Steve isn’t random, he’s controlled by your opponent. It’s just like how characters with items aren’t banned. Items are banned in competitive, but link can still pull bombs because they’re not nearly as random as the type that fall from the sky anywhere on the stage
Too many op tools, i love the creativity that can be achieved with steve, but mine cart needs a nerf. Command grab, recovery, can combo into a kill and often does, keeps its hurt box even when it's not moving anymore. Everything else seems pretty well balanced.
@@r1pperduck He's the only character that is really a cheater, because if you take steve to a stage without platform he just builds his own, he can survive way too long if he build a wall and is able to tech the wall.
Minecart is too repetitive and powerful. And as much creativity as can be achieved by blocks, the biggest impact they have on Steve is giving him the ability to camp
The funny and scary thing is that, despite set counts after this point, this summit is making me think that the best Steve in the world is actually Onin
I hate how clearly biased the casters are towards Anathema here. I know they hate Steve, but it is kind of their job to commentate the set, not make it a rant about characters they don’t like
Tekken 20 - featuring Steve Mishima and his distant cousin Robert Mishima
Fun fact: There's a character named "Bob" in Tekken 6. When he dominated the early meta, Tekken fans jokingly called him "Bob Mishima".
😂
LMFAOOOOO

damn right
Nah
he still gets out of disadvantage for free in this scenario.

Steve has been exactly the same since he got added, though?

Games 1 and 3 tho were brutal 🤯🤯🤯
Anathema doing to good against top 5 (gluto and acola) made me very happy
The commentary has been hilarious this whole summit. The running jokes have me 💀 sick set too. Anathema showed up big time, props to acola.
Wow incredible set!

That game 1 was hilarious
Someone needs to make a twitter clip of game 1 where its Anathema doing 14.2% and then it cuts to the Steve win screen LMAOOO
