What a fantastic painter Frank Tenney Johnson is. I have never heard of him. That is why I need to paint for myself and for the joy of doing it because I may never be as fabulous as he is and will fade into obscurity anyway. Most people who create such wonderful art end up being forgotten because there is so much new art being created.

    Phil thank you.
Wow. These paintings have such a calming effect. But also stimulating. Sets off the imagination. In a peaceful way. Magic.

Very helpful information, especially how you changed a day painting into a night painting. Moonlit nights where I live are very bright, but the animals are very active too.

What a great artist he was. Interesting he was so drawn to shadows & the dark/dusk. Most people focus on light rather than shadows & dark

5:54 Fascinating that that painting could be from today - nearly 100 years later. The jeans, shirts, hats, tack - all still found today
