If Tissot haven't signed you up yet as a brand ambassador they should do so immediately. I've been looking for a dressy watch in black on steel bracelet for a while and this review has sealed the deal for me. At €280 it really is a no-brainer. I can't wait for it to arrive.
I bought the same model two weeks ago after watching this excellent review. I was searching for a new watch and I was bored with seeing stainless steel integrated bracelets everywhere. This Tissot looks great with its unique design and it is exactly what I want as a dress or casual watch. Your review helped me to buy this beautiful watch. Thanks.
On sale at Jomashop for $249. A Swiss made watch with an ETA Powermatic 80 movement, dual sapphire crystals, beautiful steel case, I think I will get one.
i recently ordered a very similar model to this one (slightly different dial and strap, but same case (just with rose gold plating) and movement and size) for 300 bucks and my god am i happy with it.
Generally speaking, polymer has come a long way in the past 40+ years. I don't doubt the durability of the Powermatic 80 running in my own Tissot. I understand the reticence, but I think in this case it is unwarranted.
Glad you liked the review. So happy to hear that. Cheers dear friend! I think you will not regret. Definitely, it is one of our favorite watches due to its beauty.
I bought this watch a number of years ago and it worked great until just recently when it started to fall behind keeping time by about five minutes. I took it to my jeweler and they sent it in to be cleaned in the hopes that it will solve the problem. What's the warranty through Tissot on this watch? Should I have sent it to them?
I dont know what to tell you my friend. I think that the Swatch group is really hermetic on the manteinance service. You are supossed to send it to them... but yoy know... that is something ungair for the tissot customers.
I'm curious what the outcome was 2 months later. Did the 3rd party work get the watch back in working order? I'm pretty sure Tissot's warranty is only 2 years, so since you bought it "a number of years ago" it was probably out of warranty anyway. I'm curious how well 3rd party is able to regulate these free sprung balance movements.
@@matthewweaver1123 I'm still trying to find someone who will clean the watch at a decent price. I've received two estimates at $300+ each and it's almost as much as I paid for the watch. I might as well buy a new watch. I wonder if I just sent it to Tissot what they would do???
@@dnovelle1 Would it not be possible for that price to basically get a new Powermatic 80 Movement and reinstall it? If you don´t want to get rid of the watch I mean
The movement misadjusts itself. In my opinion, it is not reliable. Got a beaterror of 1.4 and +30 seconds after three weeks. I looked at how this is regulated and since then I am no longer surprised that it can became misadjusted in this way.
Powermatic is not very reliable, the spring can quickly become out of tune. It does not break, but then it has to be regulated again. When the reserve is low, the watch tends to speed up. But this movement works well with a silicon spring. Otherwise, even the 4R from Seiko is more reliable.
To me a long power reserve is useless. It’s either going to be your only watch so you would wear it every day so the power reserve would not matter or you have multiple watches and you’re rotating them out and it’s going to run out anyway. I would much rather have a higher beat rate. Also, it is concerning that the part of the watch that is going to have the most friction is made out of plastic. I definitely would not call this an evolution. In fact, some people could argue it’s a step backwards. This is not to say I don’t love Tissot watches or the swatch group. It’s just a shame to me that they ruined a perfectly fine movement. This was a really great video, though. I loved the format in which you used to review the watch.
The watch: an out of trend dressy design from 10years ago. Size is too big in all of its dimensions. Cheap because nobody wants it. The movement: Plastic escapement in the 23jewels powermatic versions like the one in the video. By now, 2023 - likely to have been laying unsold and travelling between warehouses for more than 5-10years. In desperate need of a service. I really dig the Spanish twist on the writing of the specs of the watch and the English refinement on the narration of the video. Cheers!

I love my powermatic 80! I own 2 Tissot watches and both are absolute powerhouses! They sit at or near the top of my collection.
Jomashop has the t035 model for 219 with the leather strap and orange stitching, I paid 219 after coupon..amazing
Great purchase, let me know how you feel it on your wrist. Cheers!

Does the Powermatic 80 have hacking and hand winding?
Yes it does
Llve this video!
let me reconsider whether to buy Tissot PRX. I don't believe Swatch to copy the same trick from Bulb Industry to lower product lifetime
The synthetics in the movement make it more durable, not less
The watches has massive empty space between the movement and the side edge of the watches. Also the plastic escapment needs time to approve.
