Not really, Battlefield as a whole basically disproves that theory completely, BF4, BF1, BF5 and now 2042 were all lambasted on launch, and all of them turned it around and have become respected in the eyes of the community. Battlefield 2042 turned into a great game. It's really too bad they released it in such poor, unfinished condition. I don't know WTF those managers were thinking.
It didnt always used to be shit on launch, that was around BF3/4 and that was only for some players. Games never been the same for me since 4. A lot of people picked up 4 after because they preferred the modern setting, but they sure as shoot weren't "hemorrhaging players" the game was still well populated well into BFV's life
If the game was going to release it should have released how it is NOW 3 YEARS LATER. Not the mess it was when it was released. They were killed for time to release it way ahead of time.
If Battlefield 6 isn't a BF3 remake, I want the BF franchise to be shuttered and be done with it. There's no excuse for not bringing back the classic feel that kept the franchise alive. Otherwise retire the Battlefield name then because this is NOT Battlefield.
I got it for $4 on steam and I'm actually enjoying it! Perhaps if you didn't witness the first three years it makes a better first impression. Some maps are really meh and there are some frustrating moments, but a great buy for $4 :)

I dont care what reddit says, I like this game Dont get me wrong, the hero shooter stuff is stupid but I like having a battlefield where I can just mess around and fly around in a wingsuit
It was so cheap that I had to try it. It was intensely boring and I couldn’t play it anymore after four hours or so. The one thing I liked was the bot mode
I don't care. It's just shameful they could have decided to support Battlefield V instead of 2042 and chose 2042. That's how I know the next game is going to be bad at best.
I actually really enjoy 2042 even though I only play it from time to time, my main reason is that since I really love the battlefield series, theres a sense of repetitive gameplay for them, the stories and campaigns are amazing, but after the third time, which I reached, it gets really boring now that you experienced everything, and just leaves you drooling for those experiences on multiplayer, but unfortunately since we are no longer in the golden era of those games, they only have the big conquest gamemodes active, theres no servers with naval fight modes, or other maps thats not, for example, that one big field with the one train track from bf4, so, you are just playing the same maps and modes over and over with the same strategies and it gets boring, and it eventually becomes the same with 1 and V. So while there is replayability in each of the battlefield games, it is able to get repetitive somewhat fast, but as for 2042, for some god forsaken reason, the fact that operators are introduced made the gameplay somewhat more unique to each play style and strategy. While I agree that operators dont really fit into battlefield, what does fit in is the abilities that come with said operators, as after the class update, they are now locked to said class, like assault for the weapon abilities, or recon for the exploration based abilities, which should have been how they introduced it. Another thing about 2042 is the AI, yes im not joking, the AI only mode is actually not as bad as you could think. While it can seem boring from a distance, you can actually get some moments that feel out of a campaign, as the AI, specially the enemy team AI is able to not only coordinate, but also roam with vehicles according to the map situation. Lets say the enemy has most zones captured, with only one remaining: your AI will be defending the zone, while they also scatter around to attempt to capture the nearest zones, as the enemy pushes to one place only, and in your perspective, this creates a somewhat feeling of an actual operation or a more inmersive experience as you either hold the zone while enemy tanks, 4x4s and helicopters arrive to take it from you, or help your allies push forwards to a zone to capture and then break the enemy formation, or even do a run with a helicopter or jet to take down enemy vehicles and help both lines of defense and offense for your team. All im saying is that 2042 couldve been an amazing experience but was poorly executed. **But this doesnt mean it inmediately goes to the recycle bin**, you can actually try and find a sense of inmersion, or that feeling that old battlefield games gave if you really attempt to look for it rather than just play. Just give it a small try, even the AI only mode, go one match, try to make a strategy of your own that involves your AI teammates, because DICE actually programed them to be more than just w and left mouse holders all the time, they will respond to the commands you give. ask them for ammo, a support will go running to your location to drop an ammo box, and so will a medic, or even ping a zone, so that the 3 bots assigned to your squad prioritize it and head there as soon as they have the chance to, as either defend it, or attack it. And lets be honest, a break from the tryhard festival that goes on in regular games is really needed, and you can also do progress in AI only as well, progress like weapon attachments, the challenges tied to unlocking vehicles or weapons or even the challenges for the 30 kills or the 2000 kills for the earnable skins, its weird, but its also kind of convenient. And for a bit of context, thats how the game managed to stay active all these 3 years, because the players in it managed to find a reason to continue playing it, and saw its worth behind all the flaws, its definitely not the best, and it could be the worst, but even then, its still not as bad of a game as people make it out to be, and it looks like DICE and EA still cared about it at some point, since most issues were fixed or rearranged to please the playerbase. Its not perfect, but its far from worthless. Its a shame it wasnt able to become what it could have been though.
I play from NE USA. I listened to Jackfrags a few weeks ago and downloaded the game and found it still buggy as hell and full of bot filled servers. Played for about a week and then uninstalled it again. Not worth your time and money.
Yea the game still has many many problems with balancing and very bland map pool. But hey, its still fun for the most part, especially for the 4 dollars i bought it for
Only reason I bought this disaster on sale was because of Portal that had the original formula of classes without the added future Heroes 'sPeciAliSt' crap. Boy was I gullible and stupid, they haven't added one map to Portal since release. Not one. Uninstalled this retardation a year ago.
I told myself the same thing, buts it’s actually really fun if you ignore the monetization. Once you start to get into the tier of planes with missles and stuff it gets grindy and boring, playing the game as a WW2 flight sim is actually a lot of fun, and I don’t ever feel punished for not paying.
To hell with Firestorm, all the BR enthusiasts were all for hyping up that mode only to bail immediately. All that wasted time and resources for a mode that died off within a month. Battlefield & BR/Tarkov *don't* mix. Battlefield's wheelhouse is Conquest, Rush, Operation, TDM and Squad/Small variants of these game modes.
@@Rogue-Mike nah it was good when it came out and just screams lazy devs for not working on it before even giving it a try considering they’ve wasted more time on 2042 then 5 and it’s awful and boring and to talk about operations bf1 was peak operations nothing has come close since then

If one expects a good battlefield, you will be incredibly disappointed. If one expects a fun, very well balanced shooter, you are in for a ride. Dont get me wrong, 2042 is horrible as a battlefield and I play it since the beta - but even Delta Hawk is just not sratching what even that pile of garbage gives me.
@IlConteSky BFV was good at the end of its life and if it had been allowed to continue in that direction it would have beem completely redeemed imo But 2042 is just so painfully unfun and not battlefield at all that you might as well be playing a different game.

The wingsuit is obnoxious, so are all of the heroes, looking down the hallway and seeing seven FALCKS reviving each other over and over again really takes you out of the immersion.
Edit: I literally forgot about portal and hazard zone, and it’s right there in the menu when you open the game…..
I literally just booted this game up a few hours ago for the first time in over a year and 3(?) Months. I didn't see any ads or anything, haven't kept up with updates. Game feels good now, but for someone who pre-ordered and played early access, there is no way I can just "forget" lol
I played for a day, asked for a refund because it didn't work well for me. Steam actually gave it to me. Thanks steam!
The most creative war thunder ad I've seen. Respect!
its still better and more fun then any COD game, and battlefield is unique when it comes to casual all warfare game. Every Battlefiled except Btf 1 had a rough start, Btf 4 was really bad for the first years
Battlefield 2042 turned into a great game. It's really too bad they released it in such poor, unfinished condition. I don't know WTF those managers were thinking.
Dices engine frostbite is why you don't see Dice there. Because it's there engines that EA bought buddy
It didnt always used to be shit on launch, that was around BF3/4 and that was only for some players. Games never been the same for me since 4. Sat out BF1 and V, really wanted to like 2042 but fuck me three times dice, 2042 radicalized me in many ways since. No way ill pay these crooks until they go back to the original formula.
You missed out on BF1. It was the last BF with a great launch.
@@Nivelle_le_Gris Kinda, not really, game still got shit on on release, and the game still didnt release any content for like 7-8 months while they fixed the glaring issues with the game. You BF1 fans really like to revise the history of that games launch lol, it was actually so badly received they went back and did a couple more years of free DLC for 4, just because of how badly 1 was hemorrhaging players/
@@connorbranscombe6819
Lol what. I feel like it's people like you trying to alter bf1's history. The trailer was fckin awesome and the game functioned near perfect on launch. I just remembered bf4 sweats whining because they couldn't play with assault rifle #25256327 again. Literally the only problem was the dlcs took a while to come out but at least they were genuinely good.
@@lumbagoboi1649 lol what, cope harder.
Then why did they release shiploads more DLC for 4, and have a lower player count then 4 after the launch playerbase died down.
@connorbranscombe6819 What are you talking about? Everyone who was into BF hopped onto BF1, it was a huge thing at the time. A lot of people picked up 4 after because they preferred the modern setting, but they sure as shoot weren't "hemorrhaging players" the game was still well populated well into BFV's life
If 2042 was a book, it'd be written in huge font.. The pages represent the seasons. Numerous, but lacking substance
If the game was going to release it should have released how it is NOW 3 YEARS LATER. Not the mess it was when it was released. They were killed for time to release it way ahead of time.
I liked the shutdown game mode from the leviathan rising event. It should be a permanent mode.
This mode would have been so good if they didn´t reduce player health especially since all weapons in this game are laser beams
Hey, Redacted is in a better state now when compared to before where people were glitching out of bounds 😂
I actually liked ring of fire. Too bad they don’t make it a permanent mode.
I still play battlefield 4 actively on ps5 and pc and this game from time to time.
I got the game on sale for $4 a few months ago and its worth the 4 bucks but it lacks core aspects other battlefield games have so id never pay full price for it. Its still fun though.
EA Dice should just hire you... You'd make the game better! 🤷🏽♂️
Dice is a multi billion dollar company with close to 500 employees
I’m just a dude who thought for 5 minutes
They should keep supporting Battlefront 2
came back to the game cuz of badger... found i actually enjoyed it now.
Your way of storytelling makes skipping the sponsorship almost impossible and that pisses me off.
I’ll take that as a compliment in my writing
Glazing 🌈
@@FurryFramez my self esteem needs it lmao
HEARING THAT NAME IUS SCARY I NEED HELP AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Stil hate is like 1 European server on ps5, it’s always the same people or matchmaking fails because needs 16 player … and it’s on purpose, restarting the game fixes that
Best $15 I ever spent 3 yrs ago
Hello, im from ps5 and there isnt any New season or event here?
Portal is still the best way to play this, the event was decent
Imo they should add canonical Titanfall maps and equipment in Battlefield Portal fuck it
I tried this event. Battle of bulge map. I played for 3 minutes and deleted the game
I dont care what reddit says, I like this game
Dont get me wrong, the hero shooter stuff is stupid but I like having a battlefield where I can just mess around and fly around in a wingsuit
I would play it more. But last time I played it it kept crashing my GPU drivers to the point of corrupting them xD so to scared to try again
16:15 This was like the only time I was remotely interested in trying out BF2042 again (I didn't) after uninstalling at launch
And it's about to die again thanks to Delta Force
brobably they feel the pressure fomr Delta Force. Im more excited about that then BF... I played when it was beta, and feels way better. :)
I love you Chito GLT enjoyer
I play from NE USA. I listened to Jackfrags a few weeks ago and downloaded the game and found it still buggy as hell and full of bot filled servers. Played for about a week and then uninstalled it again. Not worth your time and money.
It’s better than cod that’s why ppl still play it smfh yall need to relax it’s still fun.
For me 2142 will always be peak Battlefield
1:15 SUPER MEGA BASEBALL 4 MENTIONED!!!!1111!!!11!!!1!1 🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥📢📢📢📢📢💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥
It’s only still alive because people are desperate for an alternative to cod
BFV died for this, just a reminder
Finally, an OK game
Whiners and negative vibe merchants refuse to die too.
Fallout 76 be like:
I love that game tho. Im playing it everyday.
Hello lego man.
Ping based matchmaking dead from the start
And the next Battlefield will also be a piece of 💩. P.S. They never wanted a scoreboard because keeping score is “mean.”
Nothing will make me play wart hunter, no matter how many sponsors i see
I told myself the same thing, buts it’s actually really fun if you ignore the monetization. Once you start to get into the tier of planes with missles and stuff it gets grindy and boring, playing the game as a WW2 flight sim is actually a lot of fun, and I don’t ever feel punished for not paying.
@@Holdenmagroyn still no
Should’ve made and actual firestorm game mode
To hell with Firestorm, all the BR enthusiasts were all for hyping up that mode only to bail immediately. All that wasted time and resources for a mode that died off within a month.
Battlefield & BR/Tarkov *don't* mix.
Battlefield's wheelhouse is Conquest, Rush, Operation, TDM and Squad/Small variants of these game modes.
@@Rogue-Mike nah it was good when it came out and just screams lazy devs for not working on it before even giving it a try considering they’ve wasted more time on 2042 then 5 and it’s awful and boring and to talk about operations bf1 was peak operations nothing has come close since then
It never left...
Not a single person is surprised that a AAA bf game is still alive 3 years later 🤦♂️ make better click bait
If you know a little about theology that occult ahit would've made a little more sense. I find myself commenting criticism over and over, I'm autistic, aspergers so don't take it as aggression I just point things out. And valkarie were in BF4. Which makes me wonder if you know Dice pre ps4.
Love the explination of the codex and the strange recordings. I found it, (been abroad working for 3 years) so opening it up again was like whoooaaat the hell.
I agree. Dice, since 'next gen' has fucked every game launch, remember the witcher, but that's is my top 3 now. 😅
All in all I like this game but I like the arcade while feel of army simulator more than the arcade ness😅 of cods.
T skipped bf2. I was a part of the launch for bf1 and my company made big bets tanks for English Game stores. Did u see one lol?
Cool vid. I'm subbing but I'm not sure if I'll follow along. Just nice 2 b nice init.
I just herd you quoting Metro correlating it to the on that give exactly the sane feeling. But didn't we love them? If only they didn't put the forest part and had part city like metro it'd be sick.
U can probably tell I just git my ps5 back and I'm DICE all the way. Ex employee, EA fucked us bro, time wise.
That tall guy who came in during bf4 and revamp it. That's when Dice got the tag don't buy for a year after release.
Also
The dlc maps on Hardline! Am I the only one that thinks the6 are some of the best Dice has created? I worked on graveyard.
Excellent video 👏 👏 👏
Tbf 2042 is a cool game
Well I can't play it on Linux, so it's not alive.....
i wanted to buy it for 6 euros discount...but ngl, delta firce is coming out soon, so...
This won't be the case unless they make a new one that's better than whatever this was lol
Fine I'll play again
Lol 2 days ago I download it just to see if I like it and I only lasted half a match, went back to Bf4 lol
Idk. I play it. Its fun to me
i think the next game will do better.
It died on release and is still dead. Almost 3 years later and mouse input is still bad 🤣 incompetent devs
Yeah Battlefield returned, it's now called DeltaForce and launches on December 5th as a Free to Play release, see you there!
Read this comment, never heard of it, googled it, and now hyped, looks super fun!
Just a reskinned 2042
Considering it's already before launch objectively better than both last BF installments, it's a hella good reskin
@IlConteSky BFV was good at the end of its life and if it had been allowed to continue in that direction it would have beem completely redeemed imo
But 2042 is just so painfully unfun and not battlefield at all that you might as well be playing a different game.
>i hate battlefield
>goes to play a battlefield copy of the worst battlefield game to date
lol, lmao even
