OMG! This is so exciting, and training in the winter months in New England...that's a whole new level of dedication. I've followed Ted for many years, and I'm so excited to follow this journey. KUDOS to his sponsers, who in a not a great economy are taking a portion of their budget and going in a different direction. YIPPEE!!!
Happy to see him back for another year. I've always found Ted to be an inspirational figure - as a human being moreso than *just* a cyclist. I had the privilege of meeting Ted last year and I can confirm he's every bit as genuine as you'd expect. Go get 'em Ted!
Great video and very well done. Love seeing Vermont get some headlines. Love the unique challenges of riding here. Thanks for the video and good luck. Take care, Al
YES!!!! Go get em Ted. I've loved getting to know you on You Tube, your videos are what inspired me to my first gravel race at the age of 65. You truly are what I think of as open, honest, down to earth and human.
Well… I’m kinda surprised you’ve taken this route! It’s a huge ask to return to top flight gravel…. But there is something you still need to find, one last time, and in that lies this journey, but this time you got passengers and following, who you inspire by getting out of bed and putting in the work. I sincerely appreciate you taking us with and getting the chance to see this unfold. Cannondale have done an amazing job in standing in your corner. I look forward to seeing your number board collection expand. All the best man.
Wife and I love watching Ted spin his pedals, the humor, the scenery and his attitude even has my wife asking if Ted has a new video up, and she rarely ever throws a leg over the saddle. Good on ya Ted! From a fellow VTer, mtb rider.
❤ Wow what a wonderful story from recovery ❤️🩹 after crash and major health problem of pulmonary embolism at age 40 now amazing. Tells me that at age 46 I can still do all the rides and events I’ve always wanted to do, just have to set goal to get it done.
Good luck Ted! I spent a couple years up in New England working in Hubbardston Massachusetts. It was rough. Really good to see you embracing the difficulty of the weather and the joy of having a family and reaching goals collectively. Routine for you big time. Wish you all the luck in the world. Thank you for sharing your great story. Love your podcast. Keep those rolling please!
You are a legendary hard man. Grit and determination are second nature to you. Your journey will inspire loads of people. I wish you all the best and look forward to more incredible results and storytelling. BTW, the storytelling really is what elevates all of this and makes it worthwhile. However, having followed you on this platform for many years, if things go seriously sideways, please stop before its too late. Do not die.
Welcome back Ted!! Best of luck to you!! Please consider using your trainer more--riding in Siberian Ice isn't safe and in the long run places more time with your family. As you know zone 2 is what it's all about, for mitochondrial adaptation, for fat burning, for the podium. All my best to Laura and the kids!!
I got as much joy, out of watching you start at the back of the pack gathering dollars for charity. As I do seeing you fighting at the front for a good place on the podium. Thanks for what your doing. And keep having fun. But dam that sounds cold for a ride.
this is awesome. and... i spy RT17. best road in VT. grew up right near there! go ted!! love the drive - kicking ass at 40+. makes me feel better fitness improvement at 44. :)
You are an inspiration to so many cyclist. Great see you back in the saddle. If you would like a low key grassroots event I host the High Plains Drifter in Colorado. September 13th.
Huge fan. Former New England resident. Few questions/comments... 1: noticed you weren't using a Varia in early b-roll. Do you now use a Varia each outdoor ride? PLEASE use the Varia for every outdoor ride! 2: how much of your training was indoor zwift or trainerroad? 3: consider changing your one arm dumbbell row. I know many use the "knee on bench" method, but it's an easy way to get an inguinal hernia. Instead, align yourself perpendicular to a bench, and place your free hand on the bench to support yourself. 4: I actually unsubscribed from your channel two days ago because I thought you were D-U-N (taken from Oh Brother, Where Art Thou). Good to see Cannondale making this. Minor keyboard criticism: background music a titch too loud. 5: The scene of Laura walking with hand on your back post-race was classic! 6: I'm going to adopt your "the juggle is real". 7: Since this is your full-time job now will the Ted King channel be more frequent or will Cannondale be taking over the social media? Looking forward to either.
Shout out to the great people at Red Hen Baking. Why omit their sign while filming on their front porch? It's an awesome spot to refuel on a long ride.
Good video. Is Laura gonna be racing this year too? I am guessing she would be competitive in Unbound or some of the other races 😊. I can’t believe you crazy people were riding App Gap with snow on it. Weather decent for riding next few days
hi Jamey, yes I am, thanks for asking! I'll be at Sea Otter, Levi's Fondo, Gravel Locos and UnBound. June and beyond is still in the works. Cheers to you!
Riding through that weather looks miserable says me, a California candy ass!😂. Why not have a training camp in Tucson or even Colombia! Yeah that sounds good! Probably a bit disruptive moving your whole family or being separated for a month or so. Anyway, nice video and good luck!
Anytime you want to come back Emporia and escape riding the snow you and Laura always have a spot here. And I’m sure you could talk my wife into some cinnamon rolls from the farmstand, Laura had some last year, pleasure to me her!
How do you make a living with a family and house and mortgage? Lifetime Grand Prix is $30k …I have to scratch my head. Does Cannondale pay a yearly salary?
Been following your stuff for a while Ted and I've always aligned with your content. But, this feels like the equivalent of a baseball player stepping into the batters box and calling their shot. I hope it works out for you...
the point is, getting paid to ride a bike and be supported by the best brands in the industry is a privilege that many dream of. Ted is the most humble human alive and is speaking from inward gratitude which I get to be privy to on a daily basis.

Agree, cycling is a gift. Great to see you are back and enjoying it.
Good luck Ted. Back in the day you inspired me to get into gravel...and back on the road as well. Cheers brother.
Great video. Back to the “Groad” vibes. Best of luck Ted.
Yes sir!!! Go race your bike Ted and don't forget to have a blast doing it. Looking forward to following your progress.
Saw Ted on my flight home to VT from DC Sunday night. Left him alone but cool to see him

Hey Ted, I live in Morrissville and can guarantee you are the only one out there on those cold snowy days. Good luck!!
Interview in an old dairy tie stall barn. 🐄🐄 Nice touch! That's the first thing I saw as a gravel riding dairy farmer.
that is awesome. That is our barn, we live on land that was once a dairy farm!

A lot of riders that had to scratch because of the blizzards in the 2022 Tour Divide are looking for redemption. It feels like a year for comebacks.
Good luck dude! Say high to Brooks when you see him.
cool dairy barn interview!
Watch a couple David Goggins videos… for me it gives me a perspective of how deep you can go into the suffering. You got this!
TTTEEEDDD! GGGGGOOOOO!

Great story. I’m looking forward to seeing it develop. It does make me sad to see that empty dairy barn, though.
us too, although it is not a stable building and would cost a lot to rehab!
Great video! What bike is Ted riding at 5:40?
Ted's riding a SuperSix EVO SE in that shot.
@@CannondaleBicycles71 Awesome, just sent an email to my local bike shop inquiring on one. Thanks for the reply!
I am curious as to who the coach is. And nutritionist.
I mean we'll see if he even finishes the race this year.
clot shot vibes = that sux bro
I know what "Unbound Gravel" is. But the title mentions "Unbound Bound Gravel", what is that?
Riding through that weather looks miserable says me, a California candy ass!😂. Why not have a training camp in Tucson or even Colombia! Yeah that sounds good! Probably a bit disruptive moving your whole family or being separated for a month or so. Anyway, nice video and good luck!
Ted and Laura were in Mallorca for a one week training camp recently, so….
LFG!
good luck. i don't enjoy winter riding and zwift instead.
King of pain...
You still love riding your bike because gravel is batshit crazy and fuuuuuuuuun!
Anytime you want to come back Emporia and escape riding the snow you and Laura always have a spot here. And I’m sure you could talk my wife into some cinnamon rolls from the farmstand, Laura had some last year, pleasure to me her!
I've told so many people about your farmstand and cinnamon rolls... the BEST! Thank you so much!
am i the only one who thought: is it the 18th of march 1995 again? #hisairness
How do you make a living with a family and house and mortgage? Lifetime Grand Prix is $30k …I have to scratch my head. Does Cannondale pay a yearly salary?
would be cooler if you were going back to Banff instead
Been following your stuff for a while Ted and I've always aligned with your content. But, this feels like the equivalent of a baseball player stepping into the batters box and calling their shot. I hope it works out for you...
❤️🇰🇪👌🏿
Another year of Ted King not finishing races! Let's go!
drama much?
Subconscious self-loathing much? Looking forward to watching your undramatic 2024 racing content...
Really dude????? Give their left leg for this opportunity? Get over yourself
the point is, getting paid to ride a bike and be supported by the best brands in the industry is a privilege that many dream of. Ted is the most humble human alive and is speaking from inward gratitude which I get to be privy to on a daily basis.
This what I’m doing 💯💪 That’s how we do in the 802
