if you wanna see a one-take watch save me- bts. that was a real one take. the fact that a profesional editor cant notice the small hidden cuts just shows how good of a job the editors did with this mv. also i miss the old logo. i remember whenever i would see it i would get so excited bcuz ITS BTS!

But what detective dresses like that? I saw a website say that Taehyungs set was inspired by the 90's and 80's. So, i tried to search a detective wearing the same thing as Tae but it didn't appear..do I don't know how it's a detective costume?

I love that there are multiple costume changes and formation changes that would be impossible to do in one take but the editing is so seamless jordan still thinks its not cut. Props to the MV creators
The two hidden cuts are 1) when J-hope came out in racer suit and 2) when V came out in that grey suit. They were in the group shot before the cut in different clothes. I remember in the behind video they shot it through a whole night until dawn. They really work that hard. Hats off. They deserve everything!
It's not a one take though, they literally doing match cut to everything if you watch the behind the scenes, but the editor here made a really great job edited the music video so smooth that you will think they shot it in only one take
There's about 4 cuts in the MV: The transition to J-hope after the first chorus is a cut, when other BTS members appear with changed outfits behind RM during the second verse there is a cut there, the transition from RM to V is a cut (He's wearing different clothing and the lighting is different), and the last and only one which Jordon could point out is a cut.

YESSS. Also their dedication to profession is clear in that one song. Even in such a cold climate, they took many takes to get it perfect
I love this song so much i cosplayed as Jimin from this MV and did the Dope dance at a local comic con near me and i had fun.
Also i love how Jimin and Jungkook bounced of eachother, with their voices.
Jimin in this MV is why i love a man in uniform, i love Jimins voice and i also love his highnotes aswell but his character is the one i love, this is partly the reason Jimin is my ultimate kpop bias.

I had 6 people watching the m.v. its their 1st time watching bts. All said, they couldn't take their eyes off SUGA.
There are definitely cuts when there are outfit changes. This is also one of my favorite BTS songs!
Quick funny story, JIN was actually like 'hey, I want like a slower choreo, the choreos are stressing me out xD' and was also like literally telling the staff that he would like to have that and next thing they came up with was this xDDD

2:26 The fact that you didn't notice that J-Hope was dancing with the others at the beginning, and then he came from another corner disguised in a pilot, which means there was a transition. They did a good job so we think that it is one take.

How is Jordan not seeing all these cuts, like they change outfits like a million times?
Dope will forever hold a very, very special place in my heart - I like to say that they had me at, "Welcome, first time with BTS?" because it genuinely was.
Also, I am very amused by the fact that you, a video editor, were fooled by the transitions (they really are insanely good!). Save Me actually is one-take though.
RM's verse "Given up on 3? Given up on 5?" is SO amazingly written. From Wikipedia:
Sampo Generation (Hangul: 삼포세대; Hanja: 三抛世代; RR: samposedae, “Three giving-up generation”) is a neologism in South Korea referring to a generation that gives up courtship, marriage, and having kids. Many of the young generation in South Korea have given up those three things because of social pressures and economical problems such as increasing cost-of-living, tuition payments, and affordable housing scarcity. There is also the opo sedae, or “five giving-up generation”, which takes the same three and adds employment and home ownership.
The next line can be translated to (as per DoolSet Lyrics), "Then, since I like beef jerky, let me be Yookpo [six giving-up] Generation." (Both are pronounced the same way.)
The significance of stopping at 6 is that after "opo sedae" comes "chilpo sedae" who have also given up on human relations and hope, but that's the one thing BTS won't give up on ("So can I get a little bit of hope?").
I very much relate to your very real offense at Jimin.
RM's verse explains the meaning of this song. "Giving up on 5? Giving up on 6?" He's referring to subsequent generations giving up on 5 or 6 aspects of society, such as home ownership, having children, getting married, going to college, or getting a well-paying job, because society has made it next to impossible to achieve those things...this is why BTS garnered so much support early on in their career: because they were talking about real issues that Korean citizens were facing in their daily lives.
BTS was more popular with international fans than Koreans from the beginning. It wasn’t until BTS blew up in America that the general Korean public started to take them seriously.
@@Anquitil BTS blew up in Korea in 2015 when they started singing about these issues with songs such as Dope, I Need U and Run (like said in previous comment). Koreans do not follow international trends, just like Twice is more popular than BP in Korea, which does not reflect their international popularity.

War Of Hormone MV actually also has a one take style! It’s actually much more obvious in WoH than here in Dope but War of Hormone is the earliest I remember of them in doing a one take style
This is the era when they make MV in garage, should borrow stuff from their staff, lack of budget, but yes, still manage to make amazing artwork. So inspiring :)

I'm quite enjoying all the different styles of songs they did, a play list of more than a hundred songs that doesn't get boring. But I also want hear more from the rap line, more hip hop like the beginning, even if it is a few songs from an album.

The scene at 5:29 where Namjoon raps, he wasn't actually there rapping with the members dancing, that was a different cut. So you could say that the robot camera did the same movement with the solo rap and then the dancing and merged it together so it created that effect with the transition of Taehyung. I don't particularly remember where and who said it but maybe the behind the scenes of the m/v.

There’s an even deeper meaning behind this one. This dual release of “Dope” and “I Need U” is what really blew them up. They had been dissed by other Korean rappers and artists in the industry who were jealous of BTS’ level of talent and dedication. But they kept working hard to get better and prove them wrong. “Dope” is a clapback to those artists who thought that since they got a little success they could just sit back while BTS actually worked hard. Now BTS are the biggest artists to have ever lived and those people who tried to belittle them haven’t achieved even 1/100th of the success BTS have.

I think that “Dope” is about Korea itself. Korean people really work hard from morning till evening, also students (they take a really difficult exams to get into universities), they don’t have enough time to rest, that’s also because Koreans are workaholics. It can also apply to BTS (they work hard for ARMYs to make them proud). That’s my theory I could be wrong. :)

The first hidden cut was right after their first group choreo, when they run across the screen and Hobi appears in that driver/motocross outfit, after having previously been in the scene before in an office outfit! Seriously always amazed by the directing and editing of BTS videos haha.

It's a little disappointing that you didn't notice the complete costume change of most of the members, while you still thought it was one take. The fellow with the grey shorts and jacket was dressed completely in full navy blue costume when he stood behind the leader and then popped up and immediately was back to wearing his grey shorts and jacket.
