This makes me want to shoot my own interpretation of this song because this song speaks to me on a completely different level and I see it so clearly. But honestly I did like this interpretation thank you for sharing it bro
I was listening to the lyrics, and with him saying "I already paied the cost". Also he asked him for something to eat too. I thought of the biblical story/word, with God saying :When I was in jail, you never visited me. When I was hungry, you never fed me etc.
Beautiful visual. The part where he keeps the car in park because his heart is contemplating. Man, how many times does this happen? You’re not ready for the experience but your spirit is.
It’s so dope y’all took the time to do this. It might not have been the biggest budget-it’s not about the funds it’s about the attempt and Endeavour which is why I have a great esteem for this. Candidly one of the best videos I’ve ever witnessed and attended to. Keep up🙏
I love this interpretation because it gives an exact picture for why God would test Kendrick, or the main character in this instance, to see if he’d give to a homeless man. The final test for him was such a simple, minute task, and he couldn’t save himself, even if he didn’t know the very implications of his actions. This was great!
I have loved this song from the first time I heard it. I am so happy someone made a concept video for it. It is a such a powerful message and story. You guys didn't disappoint. This was an insightful video that paired very well with the message of the song. Bravo brothers!!!
Three thoughts at once. 1.😲 you took what I expected and made it a short film. Thank you and bless you. 2. The ending was like 😯😳 I never went into detail past the talk at the gas station in my head when making my own video in my head and 3 (Actually was said out loud at the part where he told him who He was) "Oh shi🤬 this MF is cold!" Cause all I saw was talent from start to finish. This here... to the Kendrick... I'm bout to run outta words with excitement. This here 🗣🙌🏾💪🏾💣💥Amazing. Every person that had something to do with this was amazing 👏🏾and thank you 💯
K Dot should have won an oscar for this song. The message I got was not only dude was God. All and all just for us to stop dissing each other just because somebody is poor. It doesn't make you better just because you got more bread. We all people
very cool! this really embraces the visualization of the song that i had, and i especially liked the car crash at the end, cementing the damnation of the man on account of his mortal sin
I just recently heard the song for the first time 3 months ago. I thought it was Dope. Then 3 weeks later I had an experience that put this song in perspective Sooooo Much that I know through Kendrick Lamar GOD sent me a personal message!!! I hope you see this and reply about setting up a time where I can ask you a few questions about this song. And the Video is BRILLIANT!!! #BRAVO 💯
Great video, I loved the execution. The car crash scene was funny, It didn't match the theme exactly but it was a great attempt with what you had. Making good stuff on a budget is hard, I've learned that multiple times.
The lyrics explain Kendrick's encountering a moment of divine intervention when interacting with a beggar at a gas station, that is later revealed to be the Messiah in disguise, only after Kendrick, who has achieved great wealth refused to show the beggar kindness by not offering a single bill. The penalty for his lack of empathy is being denied entry into heaven after his death by God himself. I imagine a scenario where Kendrick's character would have had near-death experience shortly after the encounter (perhaps a guilt tripping, rage enthused car accident). He woke up in a hospital surrounded by family, not knowing what happened after the encounter with a second chance to life that set him on a more empathetic path. Matthew 16:26 (NIV): "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?"
Fun fact: This song was inspired by a homeless man in South Africa...Kendrick wrote this track while on tour in South Africa
That's pretty clear cause he literally says it
Fantastic.
Lol i love your videos
@@sylle8504 ayo thanks
a spectre comment not even top comment you fell off
@@chaoticjinx6 this is the definition of insecurity
I think the best moment in this video is when the beggar is now in the car. It shows that he was living rent-free in Kendrick's head
This makes me want to shoot my own interpretation of this song because this song speaks to me on a completely different level and I see it so clearly. But honestly I did like this interpretation thank you for sharing it bro
I’d love to see that interpretation video. Feel free to send
I'd love to read how you interpreted it and how you would shoot the video...
He did mean something else you are right, everyone can for sure interpret it his own way but this is not the concept behind it
I was listening to the lyrics, and with him saying "I already paied the cost". Also he asked him for something to eat too. I thought of the biblical story/word, with God saying :When I was in jail, you never visited me. When I was hungry, you never fed me etc.
😊

Beautiful visual. The part where he keeps the car in park because his heart is contemplating. Man, how many times does this happen? You’re not ready for the experience but your spirit is.
Thank you! Precisely
This is exactly what I imagined the music video would look like.
Your imagination is pretty limited hey
