    Wow the guitar with the ripple mahogany sides and snakewood end graft and binding looks awesome! I hav a stash of that snakewood for some of my builds, that stuff is crazy expensive when you can find it but it's a stunning decorative wood. There are some extremely talented builders out there!

    Thank you sooo much for making these videos.... You have a way of making it look so easy. I guess if you do it enough, it can be!! We novices greatly appreciate the tips given us here. After watching this a dozen or so times, I feel like it's second nature!! Thanks again!

    I liked the sand paper idea to hold the guide in place from slipping!

    Mr O'Brien is very generous with his videos... They contain great advice. I'm a regular user during my first guitar build. Thank you!

      And... Robert always replies!!! - I'm being a bit cheeky even attempting building it... I have a few hand power and non-powered tools, a small drill press, a band saw and a "toy" circular saw. Every cut, every joint takes me a day - but I do it for joy and meditation. I wish I could attend one of your classes... but it's a long bus ride from Canberra, Australia. Thank you again

    "No luthiers were harmed in the making of this video." Glad to hear that.
    I had a shop teacher who was missing a few "high-tech glue spreaders." Always treat the table saw with the utmost respect.
    Have you seen the SawStop? Amazing.

    I like the concave/convex wedge shaped ones.

    @johncharnock I prefer to do it before the top and back is on. You can get tear out, especially around the top. If it is more than the binding will cover then you got problems. It is not impossible but my preference is to do it before.

    i love these videos.....the guitar at 7:12 is gorgeous, the endwedge is very flowing and natural looking. does anyone know the woods he/she used for the sides. it looks like very blonde colored Rosewood but it kinda reminds me of Tigerwood. either way this guitar is badass.

    I use the mortise cutting jig to to this. Much faster and easier. Tablesaws are perfect for making the graft piece

    I'm very impressed by your high-tech glue spreading device.
    Are they expensive?

    • @brucelevine6517
      @brucelevine6517 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you get one free but replacement spreader is about $750,000 pluss so keep it out of harms way

    • @OBrienGuitars
      @OBrienGuitars  6 ปีที่แล้ว
