I picked up the Emperor’s Shadow Guard on eBay. I was super stoked till I saw his robe was sewn all the way on his left side. I took my seam ripper and removed the stitching up to his shoulder. To stop further unraveling, I took a needle and thread and hand stitched a stopping point on the fabric. It’s a nice temp fix till I make a new robe.
Wow! That sounds like an ordeal, I wouldn’t haven even thought to do all that.
The ankles a bit weaker than I would like. It is fantastic! A 4.75? Is that a thing for you? Why do they have to be 0.5 incremental?
becuase it makes math easier, but you're right, i should expand out. The problem is that I don't plan these a head of time. I mostly just film them off the cuff and edit them down into a good time frame hitting key points I liked. But i make up the scores off the top of my head in the moment. I should put some planning into it, I guess. Then I can get in the nitty gritty. What I dont like are reviewers who rate out of 10 and everything is either 10, 9, or garbage. Whats the point of even having the other 8 numbers?
Great review! I just got 6 of these guys in finally for my diorama. All but one had the bow legs
Yeah, bowed legs can be an issue

I have two as well they look great!
Found him at Shoplifting for $19.98, was the only one left. Also this Guard looks great on my imperial shelf next to Tarkin and a mimban stormtrooper. Great figure, so pleased.

I got 2, both had the bent leg. Easy fix but annoying to see.
that sucks, seems like a common issue, but you're right. It's an easy fix.

you can buy two of the guards to watch vader bath in the water tank (or whatever its called :p )
yeah, while they hold their poles in their hands.
you can also re-inact 'coming to america' with the royal bathtub scene. (now thats a good comment - admit it!)

This dam thing is so cool I ran out and preordered 1 at game stop knowing it would be scalped and a troop builder and not released at most stores like the previous waves...the triple whammy of creating a false rarety due to distribution...lol..so I was happy with 1...then out of the blue my Kmart got no new ff2 figs but busted out 1 case of this wave?..so I bought a 2nd one...lol...then I see the gamestop 4pack and had to pre-order instantly lol...now ill have 3 of them....But if I'm going have more of a fig than I need...I'm glad its this one because he is cool as hell....😀

i always wanted one of these RED figures when i was a kid. they seemed mysterious and very RED. but i never had one. in fact the only star wars figure i ever had growing up was cp3o which sucked ass with a straw. and i even re-painted him to SILVER. since his GOLD color got boring very fast. those figures were just not that popular in the holy land.

I got one of these off of ebay does yours have a little printed code on the bottom of the foot. I have the one from the guard 4 pack and that one didn't but this one does, and the color of the plastic is ever so slightly different a little worried I got a fake.

I had the original Return of the Jedi Royal Guard figure. They also came out with a ROTJ version that had multiple accessories, including extra head gear, and a detailed head/face underneath. I always wondered who would win: The Emperors Royal Guard, or the Crimson Guard Commanders from G.I. JOE? HOWEVER!! Now there is Snokes Praetorian Guards, Which could quite possibly lead to the most Royally Red Rumble EVER!!!!

mine has a small black paint app mistake above the visor... I haven't opened him yet but it should be an easy fix once I do. other than that perfect figure, love the armor

Nice review Mike, laughed at the batman reference lol. I'm just not sold on Black Series doing soft goods especially entire robes. But he does look good under all the fabric.

Palpatine isn't that bad
i think he is, but agree to disagree. the emperor doesn;t do much in the movie, but sitting is one of them. This figure can't even do that. I think he's the first figure I want to see Hasbro take another crack at.

Mike Kaess I hope its just a rare disturbance in the force that our Royal Gaurds had gimp right legs but if anyone else i know has the same issue then ill lean to its a factor for sure! P.S have you seen the SDCC exclusive optimus prime....looks so awesome to me a must buy and i havent collected transformers since the 80s when i was a kid 🤔

hopefully when episode 8 comes around. there are a few announced though that haven't come out like Hera, Thrawn, and Tarkin.
