I was delivered from depression after a 3 day water fast. On the third day of the fast I said spirit of depression come out of me in Jesus name and then I forced myself to cough. First cough and second cough was my breath, but the third cough was demonic breath and I cough out depression. I have never had it again. That was years ago, all glory to God in Jesus name! I haven't fasted in like 10 years . I was 10 years old. I currently work, can I fast for something that I want, like heath or anything really and the thing is, am I supposed to be praying the whole time? It's hard to work at the same time. Or more or less just fast and as I feel hunger pause and pray and tell God my desire and to guide me? God bless thanks!

Praise Jesus everyday.
Fasting healed me from a sexual addiction and delivered me from the Jezebel spirit. God revealed to me that I was operating under that spirit after feeling so condemned while I was in that lifestyle. It was as if I had no control over it and something was pushing me to commit these immoral acts. After I fasted, the desire went away and I am 4 months into my abstinence and I have zero desire to do anything.
Fasting is a powerful spiritual tool, just sharing my testimony and hope it speaks to someone. Be encouraged!

I'm starting to fast and I see those desires fading as well. Do you know why that is the case? I was just fasting for the purpose of weight loss but I am feeling better than ever and not having immoral temptations.

In 2019 I fasted for 3 Days Straight without any food or water.. i was just praying and worship and confessing all my sins and humble myself before God. Didn't ask for anything in particular. After that 3 Days of Fasting, I ended up meeting my now husband few days later by coincidence at a parking lot. My husband, he's an amazing man of God and I can testify how he's really the one from God for me.

During fasting, try to not ask for anything.. just be humble and confess all your sins...if you find it hard to speak out loud.. just write on a paper all your thoughts and confession. At the end, pray over it and then burn those papers as a step of faith believing that In Jesus' name it's over. Read 1 John 1: 9-10. You are forgiven and You are no longer a slave to sins. Fasting is definitely amazing. I fasted and prayed fall of last year and I ended up getting 12 months of free rent. I didn’t ask for that specifically but I guess when you draw closer to God, ….”all things are added”

In 2019 I was laid off with a severance package. God was sooooo good and He made sure I lacked nothing! He also blessed me with a contract job I never interviewed for. Before the contract ended, God led me to do the Esther Fast 3 days and on the 2nd day I got an offer letter for A MUCH BETTER FULL TIME JOB! Jesus answers prayers guys don’t ever give up

I hardly watch TV these days unless it's a movie I want to watch and I've also been off the weed now for over two weeks
This is my day 2 of fasting. I'm fasting for 7 days. I'm trusting God for Spiritual breakthrough, financial breakthrough, thanksgiving and trusting God for a Husband. I'll come back here with a testimony

Fasting breaks chains, it can set a person free from addictions and there are some problems they need fasting to disappear not prayer only, you become active more in the spirit than the flesh, fasting can also help in forgiveness of sins and it changes and increases a persons spirit and faith.

@@salawudeenolawale5317 I love his prayers thank you for sharing your fasting, I believe its good to taper down with fasting then just cold turkey because we may go through horrible withdrawals especially like those who have so much sugars, coffee, sodas those that really get people addicted like chocolate too chocolate has caffeine so it becomes addicted too but yes fasting does strengthen our bond to God sacrificing fleshly desires pleases him.

I fasted from sundown to sundown the next day and I didn't eat or drink anything, I just prayed to the Lord to forgive my sins in this life time and my past life sins, too.

Amen. I fasted for 3days dry n God gave me a salary increment and gave me some instructions. In the vision, I found myself asking him"who're u? "Bt deep inside me, I felt I was speaking to the Holy spirit. Then he told me"I AM GOD ETERNAL" n i felt so good n fresh. I smiled the whole day. Up to today, i can still remember his voice. It feels so good to hear God call your name.
I was struggling with secular music and reading novels bt all went when I fasted. These days I ask myself what was gaining my attention in those songs n immoral literature I was reading. 🤔🤔🤔. I also received a gift of praying in Tongues. 🙏🙏🙏
Trust me, that fast wasn't easy coz I was working while on a dry fast n at work, I had no day offs bt God was faithful. I could feel my knees almost giving way bt I pushed on. Fasting is a sacrifice.
He has now instructed me to do a Daniel fast n I am warming up for it. Am supper excited.

Honestly there is power in fasting, I remember fasting last year for 21days, honestly I saw God's power over my life I had a sick mum who was suffering from cervical cancer, we had no money no job even food , my mum was in alot of pain, I thank God that he brought destiny helpers and we manage to take our mum to hospital and she is doing well in Jesus name

God is indeed wonderful i was battling with fear of negative thoughts in my head for months, couldn't help myself😢 at some point i was scared for my life so i decided to go a three days fasting and praying reading the word of God, the first days was like no change, second i felt relief from fear, third day i became fearless like a lion. every fear disappeared. thank you Jesus 🙏 all power bow before you, am not longer a slave to fear Jesus set me free. the devil was playing with my thoughts, but can't do that now again. thank you Jesus 🙏

I was also instructed that a dry fast includes no showering, teeth brushing and hand washing for dry fasting.

I WAS Addicted to adult content and touching my self. Everytime I would tell myself, this is the last time, praying for forgiveness, then after a few days I did it again. This went on for about a decade and a half. What gave me deliverance was Prayer with Fasting, I am going on three months without watching a single one of those content or touching myself . I just came off today from absolute fast from 6am to 6pm, only eating dinner. I have been fasting 1 week in every month, for about three months now. With Prayer, Bible study, and Fasting, nothing will be able to overcome you, addiction is broken, healing take place, Miracles happen, In Jesus name 🙏
Fasting is malnutrition of the body, that is the definition, and it's the fastest way to seek The Lord and for Him to come and reveal Himself to you.
I have fasted multiple times for 21 days without food, and also a 40 day fast without food, as long as you are seeking Him He will not let it harm you.

It's not an easy journey to fast when u think u can do it all by urself. But when u ask for the strength to fast from God, the journey becomes easier. When I decided to fast, for the first two days it wasn't easy, the smell of food, images of my favourite foods and drinks on my minds eye wasn't an easy battle but I pressed on because what i was going through was enough shame and I didn't want it any longer. Glory be to God fasting has become easier and I feel lighter and at peace with my inner self. You can do it and it works. BE ENCOURAGED.

I asked The Holy Spirit to lead me to what He wanted me to see.. And Now I'm here! Fasting has been something I've been wanting to try for a few weeks now as I deepen my relationship with God. I'm an All or Nothing type of guy and I'll be out here tryna Fast for 30 days with just bread and water without ever fasting before and feel like a complete failure who God can never love after I fail lol.
What I'm trying to say is, Pray and ask The Spirit to lead you into what He wants you to fast! Don't jump out there trying to do something your body can't handle on your own without the guidance of The Holy Spirit! I'm not saying use excuses but Don't be so hard on yourself if you don't make at first. I had to learn that!
I just want to say God has blessed me time and time again when I have fasted to much to go in detail I just want anyone who is considering it to know it really does work. And anything that gets us closer to the Lord is worth giving up anything our flesh desires.

Through fasting and prayer God is able to reveal things that are in the dark and one end up being protected. For me it happened recently where someone I trusted a family member that used to come to my House and I used to help was the one causing more conflict between me and my sibling and saying things. But through the holy spirit I was able to forgive immediately u found out I was shocked for few seconds till today I'm not angry

Worship song that made closer to God was “They that Wait” by Fred Hammond and “Praise Him in Advance” by Marvin Sapp. I listened to these 2 songs to keep my faith and patience in God and made me understand that we have to thank God for answered prayers even when we don’t see changes. I listened to these songs for months consistently praising and worshipping and I finally received the answers to my prayers and more than I could ever think of. Now it’s a lot easier to trust and try Jesus then ever and I’m incredibly grateful for him❤❤❤

How often do we pray during our fasting period with God? What kind of things do we do during this time spent with God? I want to live a life God desired me to,a righteous life. I want to strengthen my relationship with Him. I want to go home and be apart of His family in the new perfect world.

Tanessa, great questions. As for myself I find a healthy balance between prayer 🙏, meditation 🧘♀️ and being of help & service in any way possible. Such as feeding the birds 🐦, helping a senior citizen 🧓 carry something heavy, random acts of kindness, etc. So many of us pray 🙏 , which is excellent, but meditation 🧘♀️ is of equal importance. When you pray to God we are talking to God speaking to God, but in order to hear God we must meditate 🧘♀️ that’s is when God speaks to us. Namaste 🙏 and God bless you. 🙂

Technology, like cell phones, computers, or television is not a practice for fasting. It can very well be a sign of idolatry.
You can not replace food and water with man-made devices for biblical fasting. It’s not biblical.

1 Corinthians 7:5 is pertaining to marriage. And it’s about denying your spouse intimacy to go away and fast and pray with the lord. It’s saying that is the only time in marriage that you should deny your spouse intimacy. Is when you go and be with the lord to fast and pray. 🙏 fasting is no food no water. Fasting is the abstaining from Food & Water/fluids for a period of time (Esther 4:16). I fast on Gods perpetual SABBATH-DAY (Friday-sunset thru Saturday-suns).

Just commenting on the thumbnail, sometime last year I had an encounter like this. I was asleep but I felt someone standing over me. I also saw myself laying down in a balled up position. Wow this is amazing 😢. I couldn’t articulate or express what I’ve encountered. This thumbnail though shows that I was aware of what was going on and I wasn’t wrong.
I fasted and prayed with bible study for 3 days and my ex came back.
