Ya lots of games where you're on a gigantic living.. mass rarely actually show any consequences except maybe "oh now *insert main path* is no longer accessible"
What I find interesting is that even if you chose to use arranged music instead of the original, the original version of Obstacle in our Path plays regardless.
@@maxrichards3881 no, if they kept the original its because of timing issues and to let all the beat be in their place. The new version is slower and probably wouldn't work so well with this cutscene.
I was surprised when they used the original version of Obstacle in Our Path here. I was a bit confused at first, but it seems strangely appropriate for a scene like this.
I've only just noticed that if you look at the first cutscene the mechonis doesn't have that ring on its shoulder so egil must have added it later as it got struck on the shoulder and lost an arm to the bionis
I'd recommend Xenoblade 2 over definitive edition, given the outright better combat, what I and many believe to be the better story, amazing music, and just generally a great game (I'd especially recommend getting the expansion pass, as it's easily in the top 3 best DLCs I've ever purchased)
@@BlazingBoltAeris I agree with the combat, though that and the rest of your comment is also debatable. If it's their first step into Xenoblade, I'd say to try out DE first since (although arguably "worse") it is a lot easier to get into than 2's combat.
Well, if you watched this whole video, then you already know a lot of spoilers. But, if you're okay with that, then I'd totally recommend it. I know this game would be worth the money
Most of the textures are from the Wii version. Just upscaled. This remaster had a lot less budget than you think. Though the characters were remade so they'd actually have a face. If you can get a Wii running this game in hd they look remarkably similar. Not to diss the remaster. Honestly I'm just more impressed that they got this running on Wii at all.
i thought my game was bugged, but for some reason the first cutscene plays the original version of An Obstacle In Our Path instead of the remastered one
My theory is that it did through Egil soul, yoz can hear how thw soldier are surprised and shocked to see the other arm so it is aknowledged it wasbt there before

@@networkplayer01 yeah I never noticed that in the original game but this time I'm climbing up and going 'hang on.. what the hell is that appendage? is it one of those weird.. wing-tail things they both have?' and then I climb a little higher 'okay what. those are FINGERS.' i thought maybe it had four arms or something. It's funny they don't make a bigger deal out of that given that it's visible from lots of places, it should have been like... part of their lore. I also can't believe fallen arm was visible so early in the game but you'd never think to look DOWN to see it. It makes the whole thing really even more powerful to see like, the sword is a zweihander and Egil made sure it could be wielded properly...
alright you lengthy cutscene that hides incredible detail in quick sweeps, you are getting SLOWED DOWN. How the hell are they suddenly so far away from each other during that wave motion gun? I guess that's just for dramatic effect. It's less impressive to show a huge beam that travels the length of your sword before hitting your enemy.. interesting too that it hits the _shoulder_ also crazy to see how decently far in Kyoshin's grip on the sword was. you follow it down its wrist and the freaking thumb is your first landmark on Kishin, but all that distance you traveled along the sword was like... a third of its length. anyway thanks for uploading, until the in-game cutscene viewer includes skipping controls, this kind of thing remains super necessary.
@@darthexcalibur4606 Ohhhhh thanks for pointing that out! They're both just sort of a mass of strange shapes in silhouette so it's hard to tell, but now that I look closely, yeah. That was the camera moving to behind.

This scene absolutely blew me away. Imagine being on the sword when suddenly half of the world as you know it becomes sentient and starts moving.
Poor Valak Mountain just gets abused so bad after the Mechonis awakens, dude literally attacked with its sword twice and hit Valak both times LMFAO.
Such a good moment in the game!.

Better that way since the OG ost is better than the arranged tracks
@@arsoras1019 yeah
Thanking you for not using any ridiculous alt costumes and stuck to the default. This cutscene is way too hype for that.
Indeed, I truly hate it with a burning passion when people go into those epic cutscenes half naked.
The costumes are fine, the problem is that they have the New Game Plus Monado, which makes zero sense story-wise and is a big spoiler.
The prodigal armor is dope though.
