I really like this patch & really didnt like the dragon patch. It was always lose streak into fast 9 & aim for a 2 star dragon, usually shyvana or the earth one. There wasnt a "comp to force" but equally there wasn't a "Pivot" either since you always prioritised the dragons, so your pivot was always wait and level faster than anyone else and rollerball to 0 until u hit a 2 star dragon. This set is comps, traits and synergies, i like that 4 star 3 costs can auto win, i dont really like 2 star legendaries dominating the unit priority pool. This set does the balance of game pace well its just singular unit balance is still off.
I feel like BoxBox played both sides of the coin with his takes. On the one hand he talked about things like the lack of individual specialization this patch which is clearly Riot getting it wrong. Then he also talks about Riot likely being annoyed at the prospect of massive feedback from the community and that we should just let them do their job. If you make a thing for mass consumption by the public, but you're too prideful or arrogant to acknowledge and at least consider the feedback that thing produces, that's a you problem, not the masses problem. Constructive criticism is a part of the game and Riot has set a high bar with some sets, which leaves them open to wider feedback when other sets fall short of their own mark. To BoxBox's point, people don't suggest something like a pity roll because they just want the easy way out. Getting another of a unit you've been burning through currency for is a pain point and even getting said unit doesn't guarantee victory. This set is a prime example where you have to be flexible with the comp you play. You can't be competitive if you figure that comp out but the RNG screws you from growing in strength to keep pace with the field. Ultimately it's just a worse feeling to lose because you were unlucky vs losing because you were outplayed.
Ok, here is when boxbox shows he is a soy boy for riot… while, I agree it’s a monumental task, it’s one they set for themselves. they’re decisions in the past are PURELY profit based, hence the 200 dollar skins. they couldn’t give a fuck less about the player base, thus is why we have a mort farming views and twitch streams via his position. Aaaaand you literally suggested a fix that’s actively ignored when asked about, like the box sizes… so please, stop glazing riot.
I agree with shimerscale beeing op on set 7 but pre nerf lee sin was a beast just 3-star him and give him the stats he one shots all units in a straight line of his kick dealing more then 2k dmg on cast I just forced dragonmancers every game it was almost impossible to lose If you hit your powerspikes
