I feel that after you regain consciousness after passing out from extreme pain once driven an inch or so into your tibia it would make a handy come-along for your impaled leg. ;-D Very nice video. Much appreciated.

I have the little 12 in model. I buy my firewood presplit and delivered. It is dumped in a pile. I find this little one great for pulling pieces from the pile as I stack the wood. It makes it easier to pick up the pieces as well as pulling pieces from the pile. Saves a lot of wear and tear on my 78 y/o back.

The lock was not set on the handle.
It WON'T fall out if the lock is on.

Fiskers hookaroon is absolutely junk use them for a bit and u will find out the tips break off. And good luck getting ahold of customer service the are almost impossible to get ahold of them.

The small hookaroon is for holding already split wood securely ontop a log to split into kindling. Basicaly replaces your hand so you aren't swinging a hatchet toward your hand to split chunks of wood into kindling.

I have had the long one for over a year now, I cut my own firewood, and it makes it easier to mover the rounds around, surprising how you can move those heavy rounds with it as a handle. I am 76 years old now and it really helps .Just finished cutting about 7 cords by myself, although the big ones do need to be cut in half or quarters so I can lift them into my trailer behind my car, then take them home and split them with my 6 1/2 ton electric wood splitter, well it keeps me busy for the summer and warm all winter. LOL

Still get a great workout from it, but it saves the lower back!

More importantly rolling 200+ lbs. Bucked chunks, positioning large bucked logs with hydraulic splitter in vertical position. Unloading logs from pickup or trailer. BTW did you ever actually use one?

I understand the cover was required for retail stores because the point had to be covered in the store, It was not intended to be used as a carrying case.

It works really well as one. It's also a great place to hang the tool using a nail as the cover has a built-in notch for it right at the balance point.

Instead of the shorter Hookaroon, get a Pulp Hook, Canadian Style with removeable Tip.
    Wow. Very cool tool!!!
Gripo is the main brand to look for, but Peavey, Forredtry Spilt supply, etc have their versions.
Find Buckin Billy Ray video on loading firewood.
That is where I learned of them.
