    I use a double lunge line and got mine from Equus. I am a brand ambassador for them which means you can get a discount using the code BARD10 www.equus.co.uk/products/qhp-double-lunge-line

    Hi Rhi! I love your videos so much, I don't have anyone to talk horses with or learn with so I feel like you are my friend and have taught me so much! Bonus points because Woody is so darn cute! Thanks for what you do!

    Really enjoyed watching you and Woody learning together, Woody is my favourite TH-cam horse. Does he get out in the fields much now its winter?

      Thank you Lynn, he's a lovely boy. Yes, he goes out in the field everyday, just a shorter time period due to light / field management etc

    Just fyi you can get a replacement cover for the gopro charge port for about £10 :) makes life a bit easier! Loved getting to see the long reining - it's been something I've been wanting to learn

    I really question if you should go out in the road/on the trail with not much experience long lining. It can go really wrong really quickly.
    I say this as someone whose done a fair bit of it.

      Her horse seems pretty reliable but I personally wouldn't do it as I can't long line to save my life, it's such a faff.

    • @RidingWithRhi
      @RidingWithRhi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I appreciate the thought, but I did this following several lessons with my instructor, on quiet (or indeed private) roads and with a reliable horse. It's of course always a personal judgement call - I'm confident in my choice.

      You know what's right for you and your horse, I always go with my gut it's never wrong, and ignore outside influences

      @@RidingWithRhi I agree with you, I know you wouldn't do anything that could put you in any danger- love your response !

    In addition to long lining, you could try work in hand where you are standing next to the horse's shoulder and holding both reins. Have made bit of a hash of that description but your instructor will understand. It lets you work on your dressage while staying on the ground.

    Great job to you and Woody! 😍 In Belgium long lining isn't common at all, in fact I had never heard of it before watching Mirri Hackets' videos. I really want to try it but have never dared to because I felt like having to handle two lunging lines would be too much for me to handle. In your video it seems like it's only one, could you give me more details as to what you're using and where I could find one? Thanks so much! Your videos are really helpful and inspiring!

    Instead of using long lines, it’s much easier to use Driving Reins - they’re less bulky so you can feel the horse a lot more/better!

    • @RidingWithRhi
      @RidingWithRhi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh interesting! Driving reins as in what you'd use on a driving cart ? X

    • @dailytova
      @dailytova 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RidingWithRhi yes! They come in various sizes/colour too, so you can pick the perfect size/colour for your horse!

      Ohh that's awesome!! I think I might get one... I don't have a horse right now but I do like to make a little equipment wish list for "them" haha
