One of the best demos of the DFAM - sometimes it's hard to get the right sweet spot but this demo shows you can do it pretty quickly when you know what you are doing. Will have to try harder. 😊
I've reviewed a bunch of synths and drum stuff. there's lots of good names out there, but Moog definitely has me sold. Just love all the extra patching capabilities.
You can bypass the built in sequencer and drive it using external modules or even your daw if you can convert midi to cv. Ensure you grab the velocity info from midi and feed it into the DFAM velocity in or you'll miss out on the DFAM party trick of the velocity opening up the envelopes.
I think I’ve seen somebody sync it to a 303 using a clock. Maybe do some research first before trying something like that. If it doesn’t work, just match the bpms and play them at the same time lmao
@@roberttodd2414 haha, I got the Crave because I couldn’t afford the Mother 32 and didn’t want to save up for it. I love it. Now the Edge was announced yesterday and it’s their DFAM! And magenta, not orange? …oh, and $219! lol I def want it. I presume they’re gonna make a subharmonicon sometime in the future.
Yes but the main thing that makes it interesting is pitch, filter cutoff and other parameters can be changed for each steps to make these rolling rythms. Very nice for techno
This is a good demo but I seriously don't understand the DFAM, it sounds like a typical analog monosynth doing a very bad impression of a drum machine. We live in an age of the Digitakt and the Volca Drum -- what am I missing?
2 oscillators and a super basic 8 step sequencer is not enough considering the money they are asking for this. It sounds great, but to really get the most out of it you’d also need a whole bunch of other gear otherwise all it does is quite boring, repetitive 8 step loops with manual modulation

Dude, when that snare came in, I couldn’t help but smile. He explains all this really simply
A trick: watch series at Kaldrostream. Been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Axel Derek yup, have been using kaldrostream for since december myself :)
"I like that groove right there" - Must have watched this 10 times. Such a great demo of a great instrument 😁
Music master. Love baseck and these moog machines together.
I am listening to drum machines reviews for few years, and this is the most sickest bass/drum.
That’s cause DFAM ain’t your dad’s drum machine 😂
baseck is a stone cold legend!!!
this video changed my life
Hellafun! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼Thanks Baseck! You are a shining light in today’s drum n’ bass scene💫

Purchased one straight after watching this.
Impulsive? Maybe
Excited as a child on Christmas? Definitely
Thank you dog, I learned more watching you do that then the whole reading of the manual ...nice funky groove too.
I’m getting one of these in February. Amazing gear!
Very cool video. Thanks!
great demo! really fun machine, definitely recommend.
a must have!!!
He is really talented.
Bloody awesome!!
so sickkk
Is it possible to make a longer sequence?
not without external modules

Sick beat! 🔥😈🔥
You make all that you touch sound great!
I love how you only need one trick (patch cable) to get a basic bass drum+snare. That is a well thought out design IMHO.
Can you explain the patch at the very beginning?
Baseck is fucking amazing.
Amazing!!
Baseck is the Micheal Jordan of drum machines.
Do you think I can play my dfam through my bass amp?
Yes
Would this work with a Roland 303? Or would it just get too complicated?

More please!
is the dude from Darkmatter?
i need one, immediately.
Techno track with 3 layered DFAM's: soundcloud.com/oxycope/contactbinary
Nice demo
Some early Skinny Puppy in there. I love it.
More like s.p.k. , cti. Throbbing gristle
@Sometimescloudy I hear a little bit of that, too.... :)

You speak too much, I can't sample the Dfam from the video 😂😂😍 love the sound 🎼
Same
Ha ha
Make one with midi. Then I’ll buy.... well maybe if I got a beat step pro to control it... hmmm
Behringer Edge has midi!

But for now, I’m settling for Ruismaker Noir on my iPad. Close enough to a DFAM 🤣
What speakers are those?
ILoud micro monitors
@@bovendeerd are they mains or battery powered?
Collins 2020
Derek is feckin' Bad!! And he still owes me like $40!! Haha!
I’m.still trying to think of an excuse to buy one.
my excuse was, i dont have one and obviously need one. If you like something that you can jam with this is perfect for you.
Isn't this just a 8 step sequencer with a couple of oscillators and a noise generator?
Yes but the main thing that makes it interesting is pitch, filter cutoff and other parameters can be changed for each steps to make these rolling rythms. Very nice for techno
@1234 abcd and your just a prick with an opinion?
@1234 abcd something about a plucked chicken
@1234 abcd 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

This unit is designed for experimentation, hence the jack field.
Even when we have very efficient aself driving car people will still want to buy Big V8's because that feels good
Harmonics
theeverlastingspiral that's the theory, but in practice the dafms kick is pretty much just farting around in this vid imho
the control you have to shape your own sounds is the point.

Storm Wright hai can u be my friend?
did this have to be done in a coffee shop?
It’s Moogfest 2019, everybody is jamming on something...and drinking coffee as well! ;)

no better than a bongo.......
Imagine not being embarrassed to post this.
