    Offenses have most of the advantages so they should never consider banning an advantage any particular defense has!

      That’s their goal. They want more scoring to appeal to the casual viewer. That’s why Kiper wants them to bring safeties down. Less running & more successful shots over the top, because it’s more aesthetically pleasing. It’s so stupid 😂. You’re literally destroying what makes football, football, just to cater to the casual crowd. If you don’t like defense, then football isn’t for you

      They did ban things for defense like how you couldn't run across the middle now players run loose routes across the middle. That was an advantage the defense had although you could throw across the middle but teams would pay and it was a high risk low reward play.

    After watching Aaron play an last night. I learned that current NFL qb play is bad, it’s not cover two it’s bad traits being taught to qbs now from an early age to bad coaching and too many rookie qbs playing, we just have to accept that the golden age of qb is over and the qbs were getting g today are not as good as what we had before

  • @jacobcuka2239
    @jacobcuka2239 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    A key pattern I’ve been seeing with my college coaches and other college guys I’ve seen is that the qbs are always seeming to be taught reading low to high no matter what the concept is. I coach high school, but my qbs reads are different depending on the play. Sometimes high to low.

    • @yurrgee
      @yurrgee หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Low to high to keep the Qb from throwing the game away by trying to force big plays. Also more efficient to read a high low concept for most avg QBs.

    I believe a big factor of why offensive numbers are down so far is because O-line play has been declining. There's very few teams that have good OLs now, and even if they do, many of them can't stay healthy because they are getting destroyed in the trenches.

    • @DrRhinoceros
      @DrRhinoceros หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Dacoldest23Mel Kipers gripe with cover 2 is that it allowsthe safeties to lineup presnap too far from the line. So if the rules were changed to match his view, all two high schemes would be illegal. That includes cover 2, but also includes Cover 4, Cover 6, Prevent, 2-man etc. Pretty much only variations of cover 1, cover 3 and crowded box blitzes would be allowed in the NFL in Kiper's dream world. Honestly cover 3 is better at defending deep passes than cover 2 so if Kiper's big gripe is that QBs can't throw it deep anymore, its odd he would still allow that. Like the major weaknesses of cover 3 are the flats and crossing routes. However cover two often allows receivers to get wide open in the seems or with corner routes.

    I think over paying QBs has lead to a lot of teams without WRs or offensive lines (or both) to throw against 2 deep!
    A lot of QBs are being overdrafted and despite having athleticism, they are using it as a last resort instead of forcing teams to play 11 on 11! So these QBs are not dual threats because NFL coaches are not maximizing athleticism of these players! Running at QB is still shamed!

It’s not making the game “more exciting”. it’s making the nfl, as a product, become less skilled, sloppy, and unwatchable. The nfl only seems to care about expanding to foreign markets instead of the deteriorating product that they put out on the field.

I know my Chiefs are suseptible to it now and Mahomes probably not going to get to 4500-5000 yards this season, but doesn't seem to be affecting Carr and the Saints. It will be beaten. It's still 11 vs 11. Ya'll really need to stop publicly crying and flexing your cheap analyst privilege.
    There's a way to beat two high. Have a few crossing speed routes, run the ball, etc but cry and discussing NOTHING IS STUPID. Don't even let this become a topic. NFL spoiled a bunch of you cheap, offensive minded analysts by being so harsh on the defense and I'm finally over that. A stupid rule change of a defensive formation will drive me off for good.
