Don't know what model (SX) "SG" i have but, it has the set-neck (no bolts) and crown shape trapezoid inlays. Actually pretty nicely built. The pick-ups really blow though. Changing them asap.
Hi wombat mike in durham England here, keep the videos going really look forward to them. Guess what it's still piss ing down here just show a quick look at the sunshine in Melbourne so I will know what it looks like if it ever comes out again kind regards Mike.
Just saw this review, thanks and I agree on just about everything you said about this SX SG. I have the crimson version. I needed to change the nut as it fretted out on 1st fret, but had a spare that fitted perfect and just needed minor cutting on the string slots. It needed a roller bridge which improved the tuning stability and tone immensely, $10 online. Both pickups needed to be raised to sit about 3mm from bottom of strings, this improved the sound a lot, they actually sound good especially with some drive. There are plenty of chips and marks on mine, and I like it that way, roadworn $100 AUD can't go wrong.Have plenty of much more expensive guitars but this gets a good run.
A cherry SG has been in my local guitar shop for quite a few years so today I thought I'd see how much the dealer would want for it. To my surprise he let me have it for $120. I'm going to do a few mods and see how she stacks up.
Hi Graham, yeah it does a bit. Not sure I can remember an SG I have played that didn't. The price you pay for the slim body design from long ago with no thought to balance.
Hello Wombat, How are you! We are SX guitar (Under Team International group with Mahalo ukulele and Valencia guitar). SX(thank you) for your support to SX guitar. @Bad Boys Boogie bro, I live in argentina, the guitar is gonna cost me 250usd, and only one pickup around 100usd. It's too much messing around, I prefer buy a good mid price guitar and use it stock.
Love me a good sg. Great review, much better then most so called reviews where people only play insted of describing features and feel.
richard small thanks dude. Heaps of reviews like that all over TH-cam.

brought the cherry red version yesterday do you recommend replacing the pickups
Definately. Better pickups will really bring this guitar to life.

Hi Wombat from Hull Uk ... Could i ask if this model has that dreaded SG neck dive when stood up ??

Hola from Ecuador
Wich is better? Epiphone sg special or this one?
Tough to pick, the Epi is probably a bit better quality but I personally prefer the neck on the SE4.
