Yeah exactly, she was nervous and not exactly a phenomenal singer, but I can tell you it takes massive guts to do that and to continue on when the crowd is less than impressed. She can sing too if she practices, play bass, whatever she wants to. This guy’s mission is awesome
I have a great fine tuned ear for music Athena has it in her great confidence. She just has to sing more to exercise those vocal cords but you can definitely hear she can sing if she gets more practice. It’s just the false sense of ‘permission’ that holds ppl back. She probably sings more freely in her own free time when there is no pressure. Plus that setting outside isn’t very favorable for her. All she had is her phone for reference. In the music industry when a singer is out in the open like that the amount of prep is big so it doesn’t sound like what we just heard so props to her. Athena has balls to do that... I believe in being honest with people because people with dreams of "fame" need to be honest with themselves about the talent they have... My advice, is to make a recording of your own voice Athena, and listen back to yourself and really be honest with yourself. I did this many years ago (many!) and it made me realise I was a better guitar player than a singer. From that point on I ONLY concentrated on my guitar playing. I then spent 10 years playing guitar in a band in gigs up and down the country. Did a few local TV spots and a showcase for Virgin records and performances for Radio 1's In the City in Liverpool. Ultimately we never "made it" but we had a great time trying... some bad, some good. But... I still play to this day. So... be realistic and don't let the idea of "fame" cloud your potential to actually be a useful musician.. be that in a band or playing for others as a session musician. And good luck.

I did a couple courses with the Princes Trust about starting a business but then bottled it because im paid fairly well where I am. As someone who has its own business (with differing success) I have lots of (usually old) friends that always say things like "Aah I wish I could start a business, I would do this or that" And my only advice ever is : Do it. Just go and do it. Be a business. Go do it. And that's where everybody gives up.. at the 'just do it' stage. Because it takes effort to become a proper business. You have to register, a lot of admin etc. Also : be prepared for hard landings and rough times followed by flying high and great moments. It's a rollercoaster. Take some risk, but be aware of what you're putting on the table. Don't put all your eggs in.
