Great vid mate. Nice to see the ' Golden Virginia' tin utilised for storage. I am 75 and still have my nails screws etc in them from my apprentice years.
Great to have you watching Ian, and I was actually given that tin by the guy I trained under, so it's quite special to me🤩Great to hear you're still using one too👊Thanks for your comment 😎 Cheers Del
Hi dell Well explained , and thought out job, top tradesman, and thanks for taking the the time to show what you’re doing, well earning a living. Thanks for posting
Hi Barry🖐It's funny bud, that I can do one video where it looks like I'm Mr.Makita, and I can do another where I look like Mr.DeWalt🤪Thanks for watching and your comment 😎 Cheers Del
Hi there🖐I can't remember how much the timber was unfortunately, but I don't remember it being silly money🤔Thanks for watching and your comment 😎 Cheers Del
Hi there🖐Fitted furniture is not something I do very often at all😬But, if and when I do any, I'll be sure to do a video on it👊Thanks for watching 😎Cheers Del
Looking forward to part 2 and seeing how it all comes together and especially how it is screwed to the wall and what the fixings are - I am never sure how deep you can drill into walls especially internal ones. I would be totally paranoid that this would end up in a heap on the floor if I did it! 😂
Hi Del, I'm planning a similar project, but the span will be 2.6m would you increase the front and rear bearers and would you still use a butt joint on the front edge at the walls? thank you for such great, easy to follow projects. Sarah
Hi Sarah🖐I only oriented the joists to the customers wishes, and if I was doing it I would run the joists the opposite way and house/fix them at each end into the joists fixed to the walls👍The way I did it in the video is still super strong though💪All the best🤩Cheers Del
Really lovely job there Del. I do love a good jig but also a bit of a head scratcher on the maths. Any chance of a video at some point of how yo7 work them out (ie. cutter size/guide bush size/template size)?
Hi Darren🖐I'm with you bud🤩Taking a little bit of extra time to knock a jig up, can pay big time later👊I'll sure try and remember to do a little video on cutters/collars and jig sizes next time I'm making one👍Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Use a cutter with a top bearing on your jigs, that way there's no offset. That said the offset is just the difference between the diameter of the bushing and the diameter of the cutter.
G’day Del. Another new exiting episode. I really love watching your videos 👍👍 Would you be able to tell me the router bit you used in the video? Just straight one? Thanks in advance 🙏🙏
Hi Trevy🖐The cutter is a Trend Craft one, twin flute, 12.7mm diameter👊(same as the worktop jig cutter, just not extra long)🤩Thanks for your kind words and for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Outstanding T.C, 👍 your lucky it wasn't raining! Have your considered a canopy? I bought a cheap one last Year and it saved me big time on a job. There was a thunderstorm and I was working in a finished house so I had to cut outside. I must upgrade to a better one, there are some good one's on the market for around €500. Can't wait for part two, 👍😁🔨🇮🇪
Hi TN🖐I have actually got a cracking pop up shelter👊It's 3mx4.5m and I got from a company called Surf & Turf, and it was around £500👍Really sturdy and you can buy any replacement parts🤩Thanks for your comment and for watching 😎 Cheers Del
@@thetallcarpenter The cheap one I bought last Year is 3m x 3m but I'd probably go with a 4.5m x 3m if I can get one. I'll check out that company and see what they have available. Thanks T.C, 👍😁🔨🇮🇪
Hi there Jason🖐It makes it so much quicker once you've got the jig dialled in👊Thanks for watching bud, and always enjoy watching what you're up to on your channel🤩Cheers Del
Hi Ogg🖐I know it looks like I'm bent over double, but I've got good core strength, and the stools are useful as hop ups so don't want to be too tall👊Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Hi Del, the timber your were using would that be classed as 1st and 2nd, am I right in saying the joinery grade is called unsorted. Where did you buy it as it looked pretty good despite the knots.
Hi Kevin🖐I should really know more about my timber grades bud😬 It definitely was not the premium grade Joinery timber, but was really nice and straight, non twisted, split or cupped, albeit a bit knotty👊I've got an awesome timber merchants near me and the variety of stuff they stock is amazing🤩Just for info, the timber and 3 sheets of 18mm 'far eastern ply' came to £380 ex VAT😩Cheers Del
