I always like it a lot when there are FOC tuning-possibilities, which just need some "modelmaking" work instead…
Reminds me on times when we used double, and even triple stage foam-inserts in 1:10th scale buggy competition; it is about the same effect, but much more pricy and quite a messy sticky job gluing those layers together with spray-glue…
Cutting the foams costs nothing and leaves a lot of different tuning-possibilities; cutting different forms and sizes out…

yes, same reason I like the 1/24 Subotech foam inserts inside WPL kit tires (just larger).
sidewalls are backed so they don't buckle, inserts are about 3/16" smaller diameter than the inside of the tire so when in the tire face is soft to near 1/8" depth. center tread crushes in a little easier so the lugs at the corners roll up to get more bite. little details make good differences to what a crawler can do, the easier tire flex can be just like having a little extra suspension travel.

typed it out a few times (WPL related) about making wider stock rims from 2 sets, you can kinda see it in the red C-24 and NewBright Jeep body videos. parts are so inexpensive but that little mod helps a bunch! waiting on the slow-slow boat from China to deliver metal gears and drive shafts (4 WPL 1 MN-D90), got 5 of them needing upgrading. for a giggle check out my B-1 framed C-24 mini drift truck! :)

Nice one Tony and those tyres work really well . I've run them on my Wraith and they are almost as good as the HPI HB Rovers. I've star cut my own foams out of EPP packing foam so it's better for water runs but it's really too siff so my cuts were deeper and not as many. You can buy 1.9 and 2.2 pre-cut ones from a variety of places including these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122795530919
I was thinking of doing deeper cuts but I didn't want to incase it doesn't work because my rig is heavy and these are Soft tyres and I didn't want my wheels looking like I had a flat tyre,😣 well I saved myself £20 lol 🤣 thanks for your fantastic comment, can't wait to show you the running video, 👍😁👍Cheers Bro, glad you like it, Thanks for watching 👍😁👍

Its 9nly gonna work that mod if your foam is hard when its soft it will not work its just gonna spon it selfs inside but nice mod tony😃
Dont know bro I've not got hard ones, but I went on a trail/crawling run and it works better than before, you will see when the Vid comes, as you seen in the test I had to push down abit for the Tryes to grip but with the Mod I didn't have to, Oh well might not work on every tyre but it works with these, Thanks for your input bro I do appreciate it, thanks for watching 👍😁👍
