yes, they have weird and creepy music vide. there is the "red side" which is a cute and bright concept and there is the "velvet side" which is darker and more mature, but both sides have weird mvs and sometimes they mix both sides in the mvs.

Actually really exited for this video. Red Velvet are my ults and their Vevet side seem right up your alley. Now while i'm sure other people will tell you this.
Red velvet's title tracks Slap all the time but the magic is in their B-Sides it's kind of what their known for.

Happiness is their debut song. They had 4 members at first and Yeri joined in 2015 when they came back with Ice cream cake. I really recommend you go through their discography chronologically to see their growth and see how diverse they are!
I like how you’re getting into Red Velvet they’re a solid group with vocals, fun choreos, and a solid discography. They are among the best when it comes to bsides and title tracks. I can’t wait to see what more red velvet content you react to. I highly recommend Dumb Dumb, Umpah Umpah, and Sappy there’s a lot of other great options too, but these for me personally eat up the plate.

Also, you should check out their japanese release like WILD SIDE to see how amazing their vocals are. They were INSANE in that song. Every single one of red velvet member SERVES vocal

Separate comment to answer some of your questions.
Red velvet's Songs and more so their MV always have a darker edge (yes even the happier ones).
Regarding having 4 members for Happiness (and be natural) Red velvet were rushed to debut to deal with the fallout from F(x)'s disbanding and Yeri (maknae) was not yet old enough to debut fully. So it's not like she was "added" like some people say.
The disparity in the sounds you heard is because Red velvet follow a "Red" vs "velvet" Concept where Songs that are" Red" are pop influenced and often upbeat sounding but the MV's tend to have an underlying darkness and songs that are "Velvet" Are smooth and rich in sound and are vocally driven and have a "darker" sound And the MV's follow this trend.

Psycho MV was inspired by the movie "Black swan", main character of which played by Natalie Portman has dissociative identity disorder. Like that movie, main character of this MV (Seulgi, who starts the song sitting next to weaving machine in a white dress) also has dissociative identity disorder. 5 members of the group are her 5 identities, who are in a very weird and strange relationship with each other. In the beginning Irene sitting in the driver seat of a car and Seulgi sitting in the backseat means that Irene is the main identity, which controls other 4 identities. Irene sitting in the center of the sewing room in the same white dress as Seulgi in the beginning of the MV, and saying "I'm original visual, this is who we are" during her rap part also means that she is the main identity, and this is who they (all 5 identities of Seulgi) are. Right after Yeri's rap part Seulgi singing "How can I handle You?" means that how can she handle all 5 identities (or maybe only Yeri), who fight each other to take control of her. Joy, who whispers "psycho" in the beginning of the MV, wants to take control of Seulgi from Irene and the other identities. Maybe she doesn't want to share Seulgi with the other identities, that's why she cut the string of walkie-talkie, by which Yeri was communicating with Seulgi, and took Wendy away by pulling her hand and put her on the train. Thus Joy took Yeri and Wendy away from Seulgi and isolated them, so that they can't communicate with Seulgi. But Yeri broke the glass door (or window) with stone and sent message to Seulgi (or Irene) with a letter attached to it. During the MV Seulgi's reflection in the mirror isn't synchronized with her, which means that she has split personality, but in the end (before the last chorus) her reflection in the mirror finally is synchronized with her. In the end (before the last chorus) we can see that one of them is running into sewing room and finding out that she is alone, then she is turning to us, and we see that it's Seulgi in Irene's outfit during her rap part in the sewing room. This means that all 5 identities of Seulgi became one under control of Irene, and they seem to be happy now singing "Hey now we'll be OK, it's alright", but at the same time we can see that Yeri isn't jumping on the mattress in her room, and there is a peephole on the door of her room, which means that she is under control now. And butterflies maybe symbolize transformation of 5 identities into one. So Psycho MV is a psychological thriller and shows the Velvet side of Red Velvet.

In Happiness, Yeri, the fifth member appears in the video at the beginning and then she is represented as the bear throughout the rest of the video. She didn't appear completely until Ice Cream Cake because she was a minor at the time Red Velvet debuted with Happiness.

idk if you noticed this while listening, but the mv version of psycho is actually slightly different from the version on streaming platforms. there are extra synths in the choruses and outro, and there are strings added in the second prechorus. im not really sure why theres a difference (since most people are of the opinion that the mv version is better) but its interesting to listen to, and once you hear it you kinda can’t unhear it lol
The producer said they both decided with the sm producers that it might be too loud when the song is on streaming so they removed which is a bit disappointing personally
