hahah the billboard is perfect. last weekend i painted my very first hall of fame, and it is a 1,95m high wall - but if you have enough can control you can paint burners on this wall so much faster! hahaha! big up! looking forward to your first paintings over there.
You’re gonna have to paint it with some tree protecting paint on all sides to prevent it from getting damaged by water. IT IS CRUCIAL. OSB is very fragile without paint.
From what i know, that stuff is waterproof. People also build terrariums for chameleons out of it, wich require a lot of humidity/water drops to drink.
Lea Holle it’s not waterproof by it self. It will need some protection. It’s made out of small pieces of wood so water can easily get in some of the holes. If that happens it will slowly rotten from the inside.
Totally agree it needs to be waterproofed as Chip really blows when it gets wet, and then will crumble apart, when I did mine years ago, i bought some water proof paint that you use in a Bathroom, my boards lasted 10-12years before I took them down.
I’d recommend giving it a few coats of paint first cause ik from experience that plywood absorbs the paint so it’s not as bright. Otherwise cool idea and something I wanna do too😁
Hello Doke I spoke to my parents about my love of graffiti 3 weeks ago and then we figured we could make a wall like that. We did it the same way you did with the wood to snap in and I have to say it works great.
*osb plywood if not ideal for an exterior application.. you’re going to need a weatherproofing type stain or sealant at least on the edges or it will delaminate in time.
This is true. But they also used tounge and grove osb and that's usually used for flooring. Some of that is waterproof and can lay out in your front yard for years without swelling or buckling.
Hey doke, I’m a chippy in Australia and with that particle flooring if you don’t seal the edges with a tar primer it’ll start swelling up, I’d suggest getting a nice coat or 2 exterior paint on it if you can brother, keep up the good work
Yo Doke looks good but one thing I would do to the billboard is add a platform so that you can reach higher, yes I get you have ladders but a platform to stand on which is flat would make it look good 👀🔥
With the drastic changes in the weather in your area, you may consider covering the walls with a treatment that resists water. One thing about particle board is that it warps easily when wet. That will give you headaches in the future..
Maybe cause I’m a dad, I think you need to give some props to your pops for not only allowing this but helping you set it up. That was super cool of him.
As Frederik said below, you need to paint the new walls with something that'll protect it from the weather. Its pretty crucial if you want to keep that wall for a long time.
You could lengthen the graffiti part of the wall by cutting plywood to fit over the trim around the door of the shed as well as the door. It wouldn’t be perfectly smooth but it would be longer. There are pros and cons to both. Cheers!
Just ordered some stuff from you been a huge follower of your channel and I now do cello graff or foil graffiti as you call it thanks for the inspiration
u should build a plateau for the billboard, so that u can reach the top, without a ladder. i'm a danish carpenter ("fancy" costructionworker), I could make u some blueprints for how to built the thing (and a hole lot more), just let me know :D - Happy building! - and keep up the good work
The only problem I see with your project is that the pressed particle boards tend to swell and loose shape when they get wet. Super cool of your dad to help out with this project. Can't wait to see what you put on it. Happy painting!
I would try to add the door and the small part to the left to your billboard wall. Maybe partly disessamble the door and also use OSB as the outer layer. :)
My parents also built me a wall when I was 14 so I could paint . They saw the art in graffiti and said don’t you ever damage anyone’s private property . Back then most of my friends only painted on the back of factory’s along the train line anyway . I ended up doing both . Having a private wall gives you unlimited practice and time to learn tricks like letting a quarter of the air out of the can to do super thin lines and putting thin washers under the cap so you can’t press the cap down as far so you get half spray . I think as long as you have enough cans to practice often you will always get better can control and end up doing more creative pieces✌️❤️🇦🇺❤️✌️keep up the great vids and enjoy your wall 👍👏👍👏
Great idea ! To make it last you should just protect it with varnish or something as it stays outside. I am impatient to see what you are gonna do with the square canvas.
This is a really cool idea with the long wall you should make a platform so you can paint on a level surface but other than that really cool man nice job
Very cool! Puts my graffiti wall to shame. For the billboard wall, you might have to build a ramp or walk path so you don’t have to use a ladder on the right side. I’m very excited to see the work coming off this! Definitely motivates me to finish version two of my wall...
This video made me smile. I'm so happy for you, that you finally made this. I was wondering for a while, why don't you build your own wall. Can't wait to see your pieces on these walls. I appreciate your work a lot. Btw, funny coincidence, I'm an engineer and an artist, also. 😊😁
I think if you plan to paint on a regular basis it's necessary to build such a wall alone for practice. It should even be possible to build a wall you can fold together or take apart and store it somewhere.
The wall looks awesome 😍 can't wait too see what you painted first. Congratulations for building this new wall 😋😁 I was just thinking if it is possible to put a board on the garage door as well so that you can open and close the door at the same time extent the wall a bit more to have more space for your letters. Don't know if that's possible. Just a thought 💭 😀
I honestly just enjoyed the pure wholesomeness of the son and father dynamic. Also a video is always good if Snow is there!
My mom: What are you watching?
Me: Doke, he is a graffiti artist
My mom: What is he painting?
Me: He is building a wall
What a great dad who helps his son with building graffiti walls
My dad just asked me if I had any seeds he could plant lmmfao... I told him it 2020 everything is seedless now.🤣😂🤣
So where does weed come from now?
@@historyhunter5215 From the weed scientists 👩🔬 you buy it in the shop dude. Why do you ask such questions? cringe
my dad would kill me if he found out
My dad doesn’t like graffiti because its vandalism, but allows me to practice
Try painting "fluff" like a stuffed animal font with stitches and stuffing teared out!!
I was thinking of my graffiti name with the letters made out of cake and the dots for the 2 “i”s will be cherries 🍒
LOST ANARCHIST THE BIRD LIKES CAKE!!!!!!

Was just about to offer advice on water/weatherproofing that Particle board, but you beat me to it!

Perfect
Welp, when life gives you lemmons
BERA lennoms
Or just go find a spot and do real graffiti 😆
Lmaooo🤣
Literally yesterday I was thinking, “why doesn’t Doke build his own walls” and then he uploaded this.
Pretty ironic. 😁

Better some thick coating Like some Resin.
The citiys in germany Put Steiff Like that in the legal Walls. Looks Like tar more or less
Will also give it a more even surface.
Big props to your dad for helping and supporting you! The wall looks nice👍🏻
The amount of dedication is just
..
It's AMAZING!

I wish my dad was as cool as yours. I think you spent more quality time with your dad making these walls than I’ve ever spent with my dad☹️

Looking forward to seeing what you paint on your new walls!
i litteraly dream of this in my garden and now i have one enjoy your wall to
Is pretty cool to have your wall nearby and around and lots of room for guests
I've been waiting for this vid for 3 years

Exciting stuff! Looking forward to what you paint next! 👏👏😎
Woah, Doke, over 800k subs, keep it up, great results, nice art, definitely deserve it
When I was in high school we dragged huge plywood boards into the woods and leaned them against trees to paint on. Good times
Hey doke, super dope walls, make sure to put a few layers of primer to protect the wood from the elements. Can’t wait to see the first piece on them!
DIY with Doke, Dad, and Dog. Can't wait to see some more character work!
« Voilà!!! » 🙂 Can’t wait to see what’s coming!! 👍🏼
Can't wait to see what goes up!
I really like these walls and I'm really excited to see what you come up with to paint on these walls ❤️🎨🎨
I think that you should paint a portrait of your father on the high one. That will be awesome!
You could board over the door too and to the left of it. You can still open the door at the same time as extending your work area.
Maybe cause I’m a dad, I think you need to give some props to your pops for not only allowing this but helping you set it up. That was super cool of him.
00:10 hellooooo guys, myy name is dooke!
cracks me up every time 🤣
Doke Sr. Is getting down!! Great video man keep up the great work!!
I might be wrong, but you seem like you have such a nice dad ☺️
Cant wait to see you paint on it!!!
Remember that osb boards dont do well with water, The glue will solve and the boards get soggy! Awesome video and project👌🏼
I suggest coat if first with waterproofing admixture to protect it from the rain and paint it to even the surface.
As Frederik said below, you need to paint the new walls with something that'll protect it from the weather. Its pretty crucial if you want to keep that wall for a long time.
Nice👌maybe add a hinged board if you want extra length then simply fold shut when you are done 😉 can't wait to see how you paint at home
10:50 “call me an engineer” wow if never seen a wooden engine before lmaooo jk love you DOKE!!!!❤️💪🏻
Sooooo cool Doke!!!!!🤗🤗🤗
You could lengthen the graffiti part of the wall by cutting plywood to fit over the trim around the door of the shed as well as the door. It wouldn’t be perfectly smooth but it would be longer. There are pros and cons to both. Cheers!
Tipp:You can use a spatula to close the screw heads and the gap between the plates and then sand the areas. Then you have a perfectly smooth wall
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with those walls!
doke: call me an engineer
also doke: uses the hammer for a screw
haha - great content btw :D
most annoying people would say "first", but really nobody cares. doke, you are one of the best graffiti writers!
Thank you. Finally
Your dog is so cool...

i was here when 350K, what a great journey with you !!

I envy your relationship with your dad. You guys work like a team. If it was my dad and I, we would be yelling at each the entire time lol
Wow, that house looking great than last time I saw it
According to me this is the step that will bring you to the million subscribers!
Make a level cat walk for the billboard wall. Awesome dream setup. ✌️

This is a really cool idea with the long wall you should make a platform so you can paint on a level surface but other than that really cool man nice job
It's poppa doke 😂the man that encouraged a awesome artist 👍👍👍
Doke with his own wall. Played the game, 100 %
You could build a little shelf that runs under the first wall for you spray cans so you don’t always have bend to the ground for them
Here's my like 👍
Good job Doke.

i like to watch your videos every day and it helps me in graffiti
You're eyes are beautiful!! I always start your videos to see your art but get distracted by your face 🥰
Get killz paint and put it on the edges to seal the ends! Especially at the top to make it last longer for sure🤘
Use tape sprayed over with cheap cans or left over wall paint to seal the edges. OBS is porous and rain water will get in and cause separation
Yay! We got to see Daddy Doke 😁😂❤
Love this!!!! You should stucco the wall. The rain will rot it.
This is fantastic, nice ideas
New series idea. Teaching my dad to paint graffiti
