I was there for both Cardiff concerts. Just before this was a quartet playing Meat Loaf songs, but were then kicked off by the guitarist as he started the intro solo.
I would have given anything to have been able to see this live, but I was way too young at the time. Dear God, the raw PASSION in this song is just incredible, as is the note Meatloaf hits at 11:41. Man, do I miss the 80s and early 90s.
***** His show in Cardiff was made right after his comeback. Cardiff is, to date, his best live performance all around. The songs were sung well and in good order. The instrumentation, while wild at times, proved to be a huge crowd pleaser. It's too bad Meat's voice has failed him up to and since Cardiff.
Derrick B In the Bat Out Of Hell III tour of course we saw Aspen Miller who is now married to singer/broadway star Tony Vincent they have a little girl together. I mean she was so hot and a pretty decent singer but there was a total lack of chemistry. Something was just not clicking with those two but then again Nobody can light a fire under Meat's ass like Patti Russo. Unfortunately these days Meat's voice is definitely not as strong as it used to be.
***** So true. Patti Russo was Meat's best backup singer. However, just like him, she had an attitude and didn't take any crap. At least, we can still experience the best of Meat Loaf in videos like this.
Aspen Miller is 35 today and Meat loaf is 69. During the Siege the night-tour, they were 25 and 59. When a 25 year old woman has to sing a love-duet with a 59 year old man, 2-3 times her weight, it just sends off a creepy vibe. Especially in a number like paradise, where the normally make out and go to 2nd base. Meat himself told that they had to change that act mid-tour, due to the crowds reaction. So instead of fondling each other, they turn around and watch the big screen behind them. It was way more appropriate with Karla or Patti age-wise and they had way more chemistry.
I've been searching for this extended version for years - with the full intro by Pat Thrall (the best guitarist in any Meat lineup for me)! If anyone knows of an actual video of this (with the FULL guitar intro - and there was one) online, please let me know. Thanks :-)
I f--ing love this. Stienman was a genius. Meat was amazing and Patti makes it. Best live version ever.
This is the best live version of I'd do anything for love. He had a great voice and he sang the full version of the song.
Words can't describe how beautiful this was. Dude, you're the man. I wish he still sounded like this.
pro trick : watch series at kaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Zakai Kamdyn Yup, I've been watching on KaldroStream for since november myself :D
My favorite live version of a Steinman masterpiece. Godspeed MeatLoaf! 😭
Best live version by far!!! Meat Loaf was the GREATEST!!!!! ❤❤❤
I've listened to this countless times, and it's blown me away EVERY time.

Love this version of the song especially when they do the extended version with Patti singing that extra verse at the end. They are both amazing!

Awesome song. One of, if not THE, best love ballad ever. :-)
By far the best live version of this song.

To be honest, he's kinda struggling here already.
I wonder how much time they spent in the studio when recording the album.
Not even in the original key
