Personally I think giving out 100 pins instead of 50 is the best option. Splitting it across two days doesn't really change how many people get, and if you consider that a person might get two it decreases it.
i feel like the requirements should be more detailed. maybe a hat and a quote, or hats related to snake discovery. something to makes the steaks higher.
But there’s also the high possibility that people couldn’t attend both days and could only go the second day. So giving those people the opportunity is more (for lack of a better word) fair
As someone who has sold at conventions that have nothing to do with reptiles, the delight over having your own trash can and power was the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen.
I had a customer come in the other day who is getting either a crested gecko or a gargoyle gecko (can't remember what she said) and after hearing that I asked her if she watches your channel, and then we had a long conversation about your videos. She's the first person outside of a friend of mine that watches your channel that I've talked to. It was really cool. Hope I can eventually make it up to see the zoo in person or even meet y'all at events like this. That would be awesome.
I frequently recommend their channel to customers! Also walked in on a coworker mid conversation mentioning a vibrator and a snake and immediately went "You watch SnakeDiscovery?!" 😂
Two of my favorite tarantula channels!!! (there are 8 ish btw) Kat is awesome. Ed! Love to see you in the videos! Emily. is awesome as well! Wish I could have made it to that show. Maybe next year or next show? Emily/Ed can we get a tarantula update? Maybe as a pet update in the middle of a snake update? Sadly it is an almost 8 hour drive get to St. Louis. I should have enough time saved up for the next one to come visit (and maybe buy a few "things" aka tarantulas lol)
Hi, on the off-chance someone from the team sees this, I just want to say your community on TH-cam adores you, and if you ever need to change your video schedule, post a video every other week, or once month, or every couple of months, or never again, we love you and we understand. I can't imagine how busy and exhausted you must be managing a facility, caring and breeding so many reptiles and rodents, and maintaining a twice-weekly TH-cam schedule. That is so many different jobs! We care about you more than the product you make, so please prioritize yourself a bit. Thank you for being amazing educators, you have touched so many lives!
Yes! Please take care of yourself first so that you can do the best work! We will love to support you even if you post less frequently or even rarely. Your health comes first! (and that encompasses physical, emotional, mental, etc)

I love snake discovery so much because of their hard work. You’re telling me they do a full days job of selling sales to customers, AND remembering to record for TH-cam videos, AND passing out pins, AND talking to kids with high energy all day? With a smile on their faces? I love them so much and love seeing them drink *spicy* water at the end of the video. Y’all deserve all the love

I say give out 100 on both days. That way it gives fans a chance to get them if they can only come on the 2nd day. Plus I think you have enough fans that 200 pins would still go pretty quickly. I understand the exclusivity but 200 out of the thousands of fans you have is still pretty exclusive!

Is it possible to do both changing to 100 pins (that's still pretty limited considering how huge your crowds are!) and splitting that 100 between two days? I'd also recommend maybe making a sticker of the design to give out to anyone else who didn't make it for the pin. So many people came in their hats, it'd be cool if they could get some kind of souvenir too, and stickers are fairly cheap to make! Though I also want to say it's SUPER nice of you guys to give anything at all, I know that's significant extra work and effort on your part and I'm sure the fans all really appreciate it!

The largest frying pan is 6.72 m (22 ft 0.5 in) in diameter, achieved by Edirne Belediyesi (Turkey), in Edirne, Turkey, on 12 May 2018. 600 kg of calf liver was cooked in 2520 litres of oil inside the pan.

It's so surreal watching this video after having experienced being there that day. It was amazing getting to meet both you and Ed! We all appreciate what the two of you do for this community!
Hi Emily and Ed! Wanted to share a quick story, I was talking to my son last week, he was asking about snakes and Komodo dragons, which I was excited to share what I know with him and he mentioned he wanted a bull snake, which just happens to be the exact species I was thinking about getting. It kind of blew my mind, lol. He's 9, I told him about your channel and he said he is going to check it out. Made me so happy haha, proud dad. -Dave (Gregory, if you see this, I love you buddy!)
I like the idea of upping the pin amounts. I understand wanting limited edition but even if you gave it to everyone that show it would still be a limited edition to that one show and no one would miss out who made the effort to go to the show and do the special thing!
2:20 I love you guys so much, I’m so happy I stumbled into this channel again, I watched you guys when you guys first got Rex and then the algorithm kinda took you guys away but I found your jumping spider video and it was so refreshing to see ya’ll again and see EVERYTHING you guys have done since
Really love your enthusiasm when you receive gifts from fans. No matter how big or small your always so excited & that’s amazing and makes people really feel good about sending them. Great channel. Love you guys.
For the reptile convention pins, would it be viable to commission a second design with the same theme (ex: 50 pins with snake wearing witch hat design and 50 pins with snake wearing crown design for hat theme)? Personally, I think if there's a 100 pins or even 500 of the same design it'd still be exclusive as a large part of the fanbase isn't able to attend reptile shows. But also I imagine Snake Discovery have to consider production cost of pins, so I understand if keeping the amount under 300 pins per convention is ideal.
There is also something like button pins or phone charms or something that can be done even more cheaply than the die cast pins that can be given to people once the pins are gone. Since it seems like so many people line up super early for that fun, even if you lined up early before they started handing out the pins, you could still miss out on them.
When I did the show at Salt Lake City back in March, I was at that same level of exhaustion! Big shows will ZAP your energy. They are so much fun and it's always wonderful to meet people even though I never get time to talk to people at them. That's the only thing that bums me out.
I had so much fun! Thank you Snake Discovery for coming to Missouri!!!! Y’all are inspirational people, and now i have a snek of my own!!! Edit: OMG IM IN IT LOL
I was so sad I couldn't make it! I ended up not feeling well at all the day of the show so my husband went and FaceTimed me so I could see you guys and he bought me a shirt. Well, I had the shirt on 3 days later and was about to leave my house, turned off the hall light and my shirt was glowing! I slightly startled my son when I yelled, "shut the front door" 😂 so hopefully next time you come to St Louis I will be able to stop by and say hi, but your shirts are amazing, the added bonus of glowing in the dark is fantastic
More pins please! I even think 100 doesn't suffice. Snake Discovery has so many amazing fans that go the extra mile to participate in the theme and meet you guys. These awesome people deserve those pins :) 👍
Hah!! Saw me at 7:58 between the blur of people. Y’all can try and guess who I am, I ain’t telling. But so great to make it into the video AND to get to talk to Ed! (Not Em, she was completely surrounded and I didn’t feel like breaking through the crowd just to bother her) Had a great time!

It’s so wonderful and inspiring! I’m not sure if he’s becoming more comfortable or just powering through his shyness, but either way he’s an absolute delight and I’m so glad we get to see more of him, and also more of those deeply adorable Emily and Ed interactions!
I, for one, was furious when Emily had to take three extra seconds and fix her hair in order to wear that silly hat. I was incredibly inconvenienced 🤣
😂
It's so surreal watching this video after having experienced being there that day. It was amazing getting to meet both you and Ed! We all appreciate what the two of you do for this community!
Emily: We need to set up though! Ed: BUT HUGE FRYING PAN!!! Love you guys!!
-Dave
(Gregory, if you see this, I love you buddy!)
That’s insanely sweet! I hope you guys get a pet bull snake, it sounds like you’d both love one!
Just tell him, bruh
@CreativeHandle He doesn't, ty for questioning our parenting skills.
@@isabelmcgaugh711 I hope so too!
@@alexbrown8900 I do. what I do is my business.
I like the idea of upping the pin amounts. I understand wanting limited edition but even if you gave it to everyone that show it would still be a limited edition to that one show and no one would miss out who made the effort to go to the show and do the special thing!
2:20 I love you guys so much, I’m so happy I stumbled into this channel again, I watched you guys when you guys first got Rex and then the algorithm kinda took you guys away but I found your jumping spider video and it was so refreshing to see ya’ll again and see EVERYTHING you guys have done since
Ed's enthusiasm for the everyday is awesome
Really love your enthusiasm when you receive gifts from fans. No matter how big or small your always so excited & that’s amazing and makes people really feel good about sending them. Great channel. Love you guys.
I’m so happy I came to my city gangg! It’s so much fun guys! Make sure to be safe tho. It ain’t all butterfly’s and rainbows here,
Love it! “No we are on a time crunch.” Look at this pan! Haha
In the video?!?!
@@flarestarsz yep
Good for you time stamp?
@@mrpretzelthegamer4196 it’s sometime when everyone is waiting in line lol
I can't explain how happy it makes me that y'all went to see the frying pan in Brandon. I live about an hour from there.
I was in St. Louis too that day, but I was at the Fox Theatre watching Hamilton. Wished we could have seen you guys too.
Hah!! Saw me at 7:58 between the blur of people. Y’all can try and guess who I am, I ain’t telling. But so great to make it into the video AND to get to talk to Ed! (Not Em, she was completely surrounded and I didn’t feel like breaking through the crowd just to bother her) Had a great time!
ed and emily: **films in front of pride flags**
me: “…for me?” 🥺
no but like srsly seeing my two favorite youtubers just slightly including my community in their content rlly made my day, i know it might not have been planned, but thank you
Same, melts my heart honestly
made me smile, it did!
And I’m pretty sure they have the pride Kerch available all year and not just pride month!
They’ve got pride t-shirts too!
i noticed that too lol
That’s cool, tables with skits! Two chairs, lined trash can and power. Very nice
Emily and Ed are so precious, I'm so happy to be part of this community
Right behind Ed! In the car! Girl was 100% so awesome! I know how crazy it was for all yall I felt terrible for ya! But I really hope all yall know how amazing you are! Plz dont ever over do yourself! You are such a light in society today!
Love the relationship you and Ed have! Its so wholesome!
It was great to meet you all! I hope you liked the treats! My boss was so jealous that I went to NARBC without her. But I brought her back some merch from Tera Tiger Studio so she forgave me. I hope to be able to come to your zoo sometime in the future!
Imagine being the only cricket at a reptile convention. Talk about anxiety! 😆
You both are my top most favorite people in the world. You radiate positivity and the ability to make people around you so comfortable and welcomed into your community is one in a million. Thank you for what you do and sharing so much knowledge with us. My son and I can't wait to see you/meet you both in September at the Texas convention!!
“What's that?
A hat
Crazy, funky, junky hat
Overslept, hair unsightly
Trying to look like Kiera Knightley
We've been there
We've done that
We see right through your funky hat”
i used to have that exact parrot hat, i loved it to bits (literally, it fell apart constantly and by the end of it's life it was covered in stitches)
I was at the farmers market this past weekend and started talking with another lady. The ladies little girl ran up to us and showed her mom her new snake. It was a little plastic snake. The little girl is so enthusiastic about her little snake and keeps talking about it. The mom said "I really wasn't expecting her to pick a snake but what are you gonna do right?" I immediately gave her the info for this channel and explained it to her. More information for a little future snake enthusiasts.
I love that you stopped to see the pan xD I live 30 minutes from it and I've never stopped to see it lol
I'm so excited about owning my own snake because of your videos. Thank you so much for educating people like myself.
I think a combination of A &B would be great. 100 pins- 50 the 1st day; 50 the next. Thanks Emily & Ed!
Me a introvert hearing that people enjoy talking to people with no breaks for 7 hours.
I would be passed out with in 5 minutes
This video made me smile so much (my country’s going through tough times rn) just seeing Emily and Ed as a couple is so cute!
It’s so weird seeing my city from a tourists point of view. Johnny Brock’s is probably the least safe place to go 😅
You are very welcome for the toasted ravs and you were a pleasure to work with! We hope to see you again soon!
I googled what that was and have so many questions. why is it unsafe? why is the Halloween store also the place that sells all the gay flags?
@@sofip6293 I don’t think it’s unsafe. I’ve gone there many times and pet that same kitty - no issues.
@@sofip6293 it’s not the shop that’s unsafe, it’s the area. St. Louis is kinda like Chicago, there’s good areas, and there’s bad areas. Johnny Brock’s is more like an oddity store or a party city, hence the weird collection of stuff.
@@tarantulakat we had very different experiences 😅 though if you just go straight to the store and back no big deal. In the evening or if you walk any distance and characters have come out of the woodwork in my experiences
maybe its because it was still early?
The St. Paul to St. Louis drive is so smooth.
Mavis’s hat is my favorite.
I was shocked when I saw you two there the last couple hours on Saturday. If I knew you two were going to be there I would've brought my best snake sheds for you two to sign as a momento of the occasion. What really caught me off guard was how tall both of you were in person. 😵
Thank you guys for 18 minutes of straight smiles and dopamine that I needed badly after a long work day. Been watching since way back when Ed refused to be on camera and it's so cool to have been a part of your journey even if just by proxy.
Oh my gosh I don't know how you survived that. It was PACKED. I don't know if you remember me but I was the one to say that I wanted a sand boa and I got one! His name is boba and he ate his first meal today!
OMG, I saw the flash of the frying pan when the video was loading. I wasn't sure until I saw it a minute later XD I live in Brandon and it's a silly attraction. FUN FACT: They use to bring it down to the park during semi-annual "The Cowboy Breakfast" until the tree they tied it to started to bend.
My social anxiety is creeping up just watching this. Glad y'all had fun!
Had to skip the "meeting people"🤣
Omg you guys got all those people wearing funky hats at the convention. You 2 are so much fun and so educational at the same time. Keep it up
Thanks for all the great content! You guys are awesome
ay i can see myself!! behind emily's head in 12:17-12:18 right behind the girl in green glitter :DD
i didnt think id be in the vid lol it was a pleasure to meet you guys!
Dude, Ed and Emily literally make the cutest couple EVER!!!!!!! You guys are adorable!!!!! ❤❤❤😭😭
5:35 Another snake discovery legend was found, just like Timmy(?) the rolly polly, Tammy the banded cricket!
Seeing all the pride flags behind emily at the start made me so happy, especially since mine was there as well
Im so happy so see that you guys are supportive of the lgbtq community!
only bad part was the lipstick lesbian flag thats transphobic 💀
I was born and raised in Iowa. You just made me miss it SO MUCH!
fun to watch! hope y’all having a good day today :)
you were both so incredibly sweet! i was only able to be at the show for the first 90 minutes, but i'm so glad i got to meet you, and i'm glad you liked st louis!
14:05 i love solomon island ground boas!!!! the white santa isabel localities are beautiful too
I love your vids so much! It really makes my day!
What a blast! Your fans were so much fun to watch with you guys!!
At 9:18 it was quick but I think Ed kissed Emily’s hand?! They are just the sweetest couple and it’s so cool seeing what they’ve created together and how far they’ve come as reptile enthusiasts and TH-cam influencers
He was bending down towards the table or box or something, not kissing her hand haha. But it sure does look like it!
Ed was sassy in this video. I'm here for it.
Love your videos keep up the great work
