    Tekton is my new favorite tool company because of you. Within 2 weeks, and thru multiple amazon orders, I now have a Tekton torque wrench, wire brush set, 1/2 impact metric socket set, 3/8 impact standard socket set, and a 4 piece impact adapter set. Holy Cow, now I need their ratchets too!

      @thenextgen1able 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you use SAE impacts on? Pretty much all cars are metric aside from classics. At that point I wouldn't be using an impact on my classic car.

    you give the best reviews i swear! straight to the point no horsing around. very easy to understand (no accent), clear HD video and sound. im a bit of a tool snob and subscribed to a few tool review (tools in action). like you i used to be a mechanic as well and i understand exactly where youre coming from with real world situations. Would be awesome if you can include some wera and festool tools in the future. again im a huge fan of your channel!

    Great review. The plastic also provides some insulation to reduce the risk of shoring a battery circuit. Nice tools.

      Tom Brown Thanks Tom! You are correct....I do think it lessens the chance of accidental shorting, even though these are not "technically" insulated.

    We can all thank American inventor Pete Roberts for the push-button quick release mechanism. He sold the rights to Sears, who had downplayed the value of the feature, and spent years suing Sears to get fair compensation, which he finally received. Sears sucked then, and still sucks. Thank you Eddie Lampert, you jerk.

      Neponset River: It's not fair to blame Mr.Lampert for what happened long before KMart bought out bankrupt Sears. Sears was mismanaged when it was still called Sears, Roebuck and Co, from the 1980s all the way through that purchase. Lampert has loaned Sears an insane amount of money trying to keep it afloat and is now being blamed for throwing in the towel and trying to get back what he invested.

    • @FourDollaRacing
      @FourDollaRacing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit. Eddie Lampert sold Sears to himself like a jerk off. His former retail investment, Autozone, was highly successful. But, he systematically destroyed Sears, because he is a jerk.

    What is the difference between the tekton and HF pittsburgh composite ratchets? Are they the same?

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Michael Gibeault The color & warranty......Tekton is 100% the easiest company to deal with warranty-wise. You email them a picture of your broken tool, they UPS you a new one typically within 24 hours (zero out-of-pocket cost to you). HF on the other hand, seems to change their warranty policy with each cashier & while some have a no-hassle attitude, almost all the others require "the original receipt" which no one keeps & if they do --- it is printed on the heat tape paper that makes all the writing disappear once it gets hot & you have to waste an hour of your time to drive there and back & spend money on gas. Tekton is a no brainer for me.....I wouldnt care if they cost 3xs as much.

    • @FCFordLord

      +Real Tool Reviews All HFT hand tools have lifetime warrenties, no reciept is needed for a replacement in store.

      @@RealToolReviews When checking out at harbor freight for the last at least 9 years, they ask for my phone number. I tell them the same number, and I don't need to keep a single receipt, they know everything I've bought. I'd say harbor freight's warranty beats the Tekton if you're close to a store, (3 miles from me) and if not, then the Tekton warranty is best. I've warrantied about 8 things at HF now, and returned at least 20. Never a hassle at all.

      I contacted Tekton/MIT about this. I will copy their response below:
      Thanks for writing in. We have zero affiliation with Harbor Freight tools. Michigan industrial Tools is our former company name. We are now TEKTON Inc. to better match our primary brand, TEKTON.
      We also produce Maxcraft, and Workshop tools, though on a significantly smaller scale.
      The guy emailed me from Grand Rapids, MI. So, yeah, they are almost identical, but for a few extra bucks on a tool that isn't anywhere close to Snap-on money, I would rather have the original and not the knock off. Just my opinion.

    • @snap-off5383
      @snap-off5383 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @iTheGeek Yeah those companies don't want you to know the tools are all coming out of the same 3 factories in Taiwan. Carlyle, Pittsburgh, Tekton, Sunex, Capri, are all just "runs" of the same plant making the same tool with just slight modifications and a different name.

    • @fordmustangjaime
      @fordmustangjaime 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Carlyle, Pittsburgh, Tekton, Sunnex, Kobalt all get their ratchets from William Tools Co, a tawain company. Honestly they make some great ratchets for the money and usually those vendors do a great job with their tool warranties so I have no problems with them. My 1/2 composite Tekton ratchet is go to ratchet along with my Snap-On 3/8 bent handle flexhead, and my Wera 1/4 zyklop speed ratchet.
