    In this video, we share the easiest, fastest, and cheapest options to get from London Stansted Airport to central London.

    STANSTED EXPRESS TRAIN
    The fastest and most convenient way to get into central London from Stansted Airport is by train on the Stansted Express.
    www.stanstedex...
    Trains typically run every 30 minutes.
    Stansted Express trains run from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street, Tottenham Hale, and Stratford.
    The first train from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street leaves at 5:30am from Friday to Monday and at 6am Tuesday to Thursday. The last train into London leaves at 12:30am every day.
    The train to Liverpool Station takes approximately 50 minutes, about 36 minutes to Tottenham Hale, and about one hour to Stratford.
    Get a cheaper fare with an Advance Ticket:
    www.stanstedex...
    BUSES
    Taking the bus into town is not as fast as the train. But if you have time and don’t want to spend a lot of money, or if you land at a time when the train isn’t running, then the bus might be the better option for you.
    Airport Express bus: airporttransfe...
    The Airport Bus Express runs the A21 bus which runs every 30 minutes from 6:00 am to 2:00 am. The buses have WiFi, toilets, and power plugs. You can take the A21 to Liverpool Street, or Stratford, just like the Stansted Express.
    National Express bus:
    www.nationalex...
    The National Express runs three different buses into London: the A6, A8, and A9. The buses make multiple stops along the way, but most travelers are trying to get into London proper, and these three buses will get you there. National Express buses run 24 hours a day.
    The buses are cheaper than taking the Stansted Express train and you’ll have more final destination options.
    TAXI OR PRIVATE CAR
    You can book a taxi or private car from the airport and get dropped off right in front of your accommodation. That way you don’t have to hassle with your luggage on public transportation once you arrive in central London.
    There are multiple taxi-hailing apps where you can pre-book a cab such as:
    Mini Cab It:
    www.minicabit....
    Stansted Airport Taxi:
    www.stanstedai...
    You can also pre-book a car on ride-hailing apps like Uber and Addison Lee.
    Taking a taxi or private car is much more expensive than taking the bus or train. Stansted airport is not close to the city, and cabs in the UK are not cheap. In fact, your taxi ride into London might end up being more expensive than the flight you came in on!
    RENT A CAR
    If you plan to explore London and the surrounding areas, you can rent a car at the airport. Several car rental companies operate at Stansted Airport.
    However, driving in London can be challenging, and parking is expensive, so this option may not be suitable for everyone. Plus you’ll need to pay a fee of £12.50 a day to drive in London’s ULEZ or ultra-low emissions zone. And on top of that, the cars are right-hand drive, and for the most part, manual transmissions!
    If you’re only going to be in London, then just take public transportation like the tube, the overground, or the classic red double-decker buses around the city. Or walk! London is a fairly flat and walkable city. You can get your steps in and enjoy the beautiful architecture, parks, and landmarks of the city.

    Hi! I don't know i f you know the answer to this, but when I go to book a stansted express ticket online there isn't an option to pick the time that I want. Isn't that necessary? I mean for the ticket to have the time on.

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We're not 100% sure about that, but the Stansted Express trains run frequently, so it's probably not necessary to pick a time.

    LIVERPOOL STREET station. Not Liverpool Station.

    Hi. How much time would you recomend to consider between landing and getting to National Express bus station if we don’t have claimed baggages?

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It shouldn't take long, just depends on the immigration lines. The buses are just outside the airport so it's quite quick to reach them.

    Is it not cheaper if we buy the bus tickets online before we travel to London?

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what we have experienced, the price of booking ahead of time or once you arrive is pretty similar. However, if you prefer to plan ahead, you can book your tickets online. Especially if you're visiting during a busier season.

    Hi! Great video. When you buy the tickets to the bus or the train , where do you exactly show them ?

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! You show the bus ticket when you're in line for the bus and as you get on. We can't remember how it worked on the Stansted Express, but we're pretty sure that an attendant scans your ticket when you're already on the train.

    • @atlas94450
      @atlas94450 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's correct! An attendant will scan your ticket just as you get on or even the driver himself will do if they don't have enough staff =D @@Twocantravel

    Thank you for this helpful video. One question. Is there a possibility to keep the luggage at the airport before going to London city before the transfer? I don’t want to have 2 luggages with me all the day before the transfer

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question! We didn't store our luggage at the airport, so we aren't exactly sure. According to this website there are a few companies at Stansted airport that offer luggage storage: luggagestorage.london/stansted-airport/ Hope it works out for you, and please let us know how it goes!

    Do not even try to use contactless or Oyster on the Stansted Exptess. Buy a ticket to avoid a big fine. You may use a card to pay for the ticket.

  • @roryburr8834
    @roryburr8834 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've done both ways to the airport. It funny the NX takes the same time as train. You'd think the train is faster but it's around the same. And price about the same.
    I do train there as less traffic but coach home as same time and I live in Romford and Stratford is less stops to there.
    Think riding lizzie line to LHR will be more convenient but flights can be more on BA than Ryanair.
    Great video!

    • @Twocantravel
      @Twocantravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! In our experience, you can bring one large suitcase that they'll put in the hold below the bus and one piece of hand luggage (carry-on size) onto the bus. Thanks for watching :)

      We've flown out of Gatwick too, but wouldn't necessarily say that's easier/better. Just depends on what airline you're flying and what's available.
