I always worry myself when I lose my voice because of the horror stories I hear about the rare case of just one night of screaming/coughing causing a polyp on peoples' vocal folds. The scarring from after it goes away or is removed causing the person to never be able to hit that one high note ever again. Most of the time voices come back fine, but the thought of the tiny chance (not sure what the exact percentages are) it might not freaks me out, knowing my luck. I feel you, though. I work 12's too (not in medicine), so letting loose is nice.

Ditto for books/audiobooks/podcasts and videos on youtube, where should I start if I'm at zero? @@bebeerin maple syrup is only shelf stable when it’s unopened. A google search will bring up a ton of websites with recommendations for refrigeration upon opening!
