Well this *finally* concludes the post-dataslate Daemons reviews. Hopefully these videos influenced some of you guys to look into (or better try out!) some of the units you might have skipped over in the past. Like I say in the video I think Tzeentch has some of more powerful options in the Index, not only does he have some legitimately strong options for taking out your opponent, they also offer some of our best scoring options imho. All that said let me know what you guys think or if I over/under ranked anything along the way I appreciate you guys watching! Feel free to shoot me any suggestions for future content you'd like to see as well 😜
As sommeone who got into the game with Tzeentch, it:s nice to see that many are useful, and that this is pretty similar to what I thought. Looking forward to what their mono-detachment will bring. Only other people do not seem to love the Fateskimmer as much.
I've been binging on all these reviews over the last week and now I'm sad they're over with :( LOVE your channel Archon, great work as always man!! Can't wait to see what comes next
I absolutely love your enthusiasm. As a Deamon player, I appreciate your love of every unit. You've given me alot to consider. I now regret selling my Nurgle and Slaanesh parts of Deamons
NGL, I pondered what the tzeetch detachment's rule might be and my brain said "all Tzeentch units in your shadow of chaos can't be targetted outside of 18-24 inches (depending on infantry vs monsters)" and I shuddered at the idea. I can totally see a Tzeentch detachment do that.
Amendment: i realized I forgot that there is a limit of only gaining 1 bonus CP per battle round, so you can't layer 2-3 strategems for "free" early game. Not bad, but not as busted as I had believed when I was initially reacting.
Just a clarification on the Fluxmaster, his dice change to a 6 isn't an unmodified 6 so he doesn't get dev wounds on it. Otherwise I think I agree mostly, main thing is I think attaching the exalted flamer is actually pretty good, keeps him very safe from assassinate and being able to advance and shoot the flamers is useful. I always go sustained on the LoC but that's because I'd be so sad if I rolled 5 6's on the hits Have never really found screamers and the Fateskimmer do much work, but in a monogod list perhaps they'd be solid
Thanks for the clarification! I'm used to those abilities counting as unmodified but obv not in this case. For the LoC it really depends on the target for me but I'd agree Sustained is probably the best in the majority of cases (I do like Ignores Cover + the AP strat though) Screamers are AWESOME imho, though a lot of that is my playstyle I'm sure. I love them for scoring, screening & move blocking. Otherwise they don't do all that much but 14" & being 3W 4++ is great for the price (imho!) Appreciate you sharing your thoughts
I came here to see your ranking on the Kentucky warpfried chicken. Tzeentch isn’t my favourite chaos god but the Lord of Change is a model I absolutely love. Great to see daemons have a competitively viable option for a ranged army.
Agreed! Only Khorne could really do mono before but now the floodgates have been opened for ALL of them. Couldn't be happier with how they've ended up. Even as a mainly comp player, who doesn't love running a themed list every now & then?
I'd probably take a look at Burning Chariots for sure, Tsons have great AP so they'd love that. While tey're inefficient I'd potentially toss in some Blue Horrors too (both for Battleline & the infil) but otw bring Pinks along :)
@@ollieclark2808 I was thinking of them for there infiltrator to start them on the point markers as well as blocking till the pinks can get on the markers
Well first of all, it's sounds really fun & has a cool theme so I'd probably try it anyways lol. Otherwise from a COMPETITIVE pov, I think Pinks get less & less good the more squads you include so I'm not sure I'd bring more than ~1-2 as they are pretty expensive & are only really good at sitting on obj or killing chaff. Blues are way too expensive to spam though, personally I'd still with x1 but maybe x2 could work. Definitely have value with their infil though but if you're going mixed just bring Nurglings
How does pink (or blue) horrors split ability work with the fact that chaos demons can bring back models anyways inside the shadow of chaos? Do they get to split into blues and then bring back more pinks anyways?
question on rules, so Shadow of chaos, if I infiltrate some blues onto mid field during deployment , because shadow is the start of any turn if you control, would that mean I could claim mid field at the start of the game ?
I believe it's technically at the end of each *phase* but yes after their Command Phase you'd control it! SoC is checked for each phase too so it's basically the same outcome :) That's actually really important to know for Strategems & the like (ie Warp Surge to adv&charge) as you can claim your SoC in the movement phase & use it from there
For Tzeentch? Not very high :( They're the worst version imho (only getting a buffed Heavy Bolter). For the other gods I think they're alright, I think the foot ver works for Slaanesh / Nurgle & the winged ver for Khorne. Foot bee's Stealth aura is very strong & the winged ver can become a budget beatstick. Buuuut, a GUO is only ~40pt more + we have a lot of similar options with the other units to pick from so at the end of the day I think they're more of a niche pick than a staple or the sort But, that's just my opinion! Any unit can be made to work, just depends on the general

Tzeentch has a lot of lone ops, which is something the other gods don't have in remotely the same numbers. That's a big thing.

As someone just getting into demons, I would love to see examples of mono god lists!
I think I could do that! Keep your eyes out & I'll see what I can do 😜
I absolutely love your enthusiasm. As a Deamon player, I appreciate your love of every unit. You've given me alot to consider. I now regret selling my Nurgle and Slaanesh parts of Deamons
Thanks, definitely my favourite chaos god, nice to see what others think of their daemons

I can totally see a Tzeentch detachment do that.
What's cool is how many different routes GW could take. Maybe rr invuls saves of 1 or +1AP in certain situations
I do see fateweaver at top tier in mono lists because you can spam strategems in the early game for a big power boost.

Just found your channel and have been watching all of your videos. Love all the csm and daemon content!
Appreciate the appreciation HughMung! There's not nearly enough Chaos content out there, glad you're finding these useful / entertaining 😘

Depends on what the monogod detachment buff is.

Great series dude, looking forward to whats next. Cheers.
Ive never run any daemons list without flamers and changeling. My god are those clutch.
Amen! Glad I'm not alone on the Flamer love lol

You should do one last video on demons as allies for both chaos knights and chaos space marines which an analysis on whos best and why.
This is actually a fantastic suggestion, I've wanted to do that one for a long, long time. No promises but I'll see what I can put together!
Thanks to the Greater Daemons getting buffed with their own shadow aura… Mono looks relevant! This series of videos have been exactly what we needed.
Agreed! Only Khorne could really do mono before but now the floodgates have been opened for ALL of them. Couldn't be happier with how they've ended up. Even as a mainly comp player, who doesn't love running a themed list every now & then?
Pink horrors can split then be regenerated with daemons core rule. Amazing strat.
Which of these would you soup into Thousand Sons?
I'd probably take a look at Burning Chariots for sure, Tsons have great AP so they'd love that. While tey're inefficient I'd potentially toss in some Blue Horrors too (both for Battleline & the infil) but otw bring Pinks along :)
tzeentch is the best chaos god :P
did you know that Chi'khami'tzann Tsunoi is lord of change in the dark tongue
Best god for last
What is your opinion on a horror heavy, Tzeentch only army? I’m thinking of 60 pinks and 40 blues.
Does this archetype have a name? I'd like to propose "Babeltide"
Blues are trash, there's really no point taking them when you can take pinks for an extra 15 points, save your blues for splits.
@@ollieclark2808 I was thinking of them for there infiltrator to start them on the point markers as well as blocking till the pinks can get on the markers

So long as they're taking Battleshock tests, yup! Nothing stops you from splitting then regen'ing right after

Hey archon, where do you rate the demon princes?

just here commenting for a slaanesh army list video.
Good reminder! I've been thinking to do those as a separate video (prolly do all the gods at once)
If you have a fluxmaster leading a unit of pink horrors, can he use his 12 movement as long as he stays in coherency? Even though the pinks move 6?
He can indeed! Movement is per-model. If he's mounted he can't go thru walls but everyone else could FYI
@@fatarchon perrrrrrfect! That's how I've been playing it but wanted to make sure
I've searched hard for wh40k tts mods, but can't seem to find this one. Which is it? Are the models separate workshop items?
Check out the pinned comment in my TTS tutorial vid: th-cam.com/video/I6zkJ91WEiw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KyIKMOLFhfLKkSh7
@@fatarchon Ahhh... That explains why I couldn't find it! Thanks friendo. Is there a Discord for finding games?
The discord is in that same vids description 😜 Glad to help man!!
now CSM? xD
Soon my dog of war, soon..
