    Nice one Adam. I lived in Spain for many years and these are very authentic! You even used Pork! All that's missing is saffron, but you need a bank loan for that stuff. These would be more of a Tapas dish and would be served with a toothpick to pick them up and some crusty bread with olive oil to mop up the sauce and of course a Beer or a Jerez :)

      @@Adam_Garratt You'd love it mate. I lived in Granada. Typical Tapas would be these, Tortilla Española (Spanish Omelette, which you need to make for one of your videos :) ) Sardines with croutons and Stewed Beef in Tomato sauce. These were just a few examples, but depends on which bar and district you were in. You'd have to take Mogs too though, He could have all the fish one's ;) Oh and try La Chinata Smoked Paprika, which is the best brand out there :)

    G'day Adam. You make me smile 😀 the way you go about your routine in this highly underated channel.
    I think I share the same memories as you have of Spain from my childhood. I too remember a sash and castanets and something very embarrassing 😕.
    Mate, life is a Meatball!
    We hop from one hot pan to another in a series of sauces.
    The meatballh has travelled, rolled through the culinary world and has picked up a mass of flavours. Italy, Spain, Europe, America, Australia, Thailand to mention just a few places.
    It's so universal for application and ease of cooking.
    I could see your recipe here going down the road to a paella.

      @Christopher.E.Souter ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonywall8393 It can get down to a few degrees below zero, maybe about -4° or -5°C, but if it snows on the Blue Mountains, (about 80km to the West of Sydney CBD), it can get much colder. @@faydove you're welcome. It's the same with burgers. We tend to over do it here in the UK and add loads of extras to the meat, when really it's about good beef, lightly formed into patties and straight into the pan or BBQ and seasoned with salt and pepper. You want to taste the beef, and all the other flavours can come from added extras like the pickles, sauces and cheese.

    I am almost tempted to try the baked beans. I am curious as to whether the spices etc in the sauce would enhance or ruin the dish.
    As for Meatballs, at the end of the day, I have sometimes seen the pre-prepared ones at give away prices, even a fraction of the cost of the mince on its own - but that will only be at the end of the day when they can't be kept for tomorrow.
    I just buy them and if I can't use them that day, freeze for later in that week, or the following one. I have even broken them down and used them as mince!

    • @Adam_Garratt
      @Adam_Garratt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Love a yellow sticker bargain. And I'd say with the baked beans, if your tinned tomatoes are a little too acidic, I imagine the sweet baked bean sauce would off set that. Interested if you give a go how it turns out

    • @neilpickup237
      @neilpickup237 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Adam_Garratt And the budget tomato ranges are often on the acidic side.
      Might even be worth trying the cheapest tomatoes with the cheapest beans losing to a stick blender or liquidiser as a base for something interesting.
      A few herbs, a shake or two of tabasco, etc. (Not forgetting the mushrooms, of course 😉)

      I'd probably go down the potato root if I were to make them. I'd mix some veg like peas, red pepper, onion and smoked paprika into some cold leftover mashed potato. Season and form into balls. I'd then freeze them slightly so they keep there shape. Then I'd coat in flour egg and breadcrumbs and deep fry for a couple of minutes. Serve with a tomato sauce perhaps, and top with grated parmesan, like a sort of arancini. I may do a video on this idea actually. I've talked myself into it 🤣

    Looks nice! I've recently been making a lovely meatball and pasta dish recently, as a mix from a couple of youtube sources. I make the 'weeknight tomato sauce' after @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW and cook cheap store-bought meatballs in it stewed for 45 minutes and more after @PastaGrammar. I take the meatballs out at the end and finish cooking the pasta in the sauce, then add the meatballs back. It showcases the best tomatoes you can find, and good pasta, but also cheap fatty meatballs - the 'Finest' ones are too dense and lean. The balls and sauce exchange fats and flavours - I suspect the browning would get in the way.
