I have a Technics SA-DX950 that's probably at least 15 years old but worked great until recently when it just started doing the same thing. Now it works for a while with the sub off but then says "Overload" and shuts off. I reset and it even says to "leave off to cool down". I'm hoping your fix will work.
This series of amps use class 'A' operation and will always get hot no matter what you do to cool them down this is also the reason they are marked MOS Class AA.
I have a sa-gx650 when i turn the volume up, close to 6, it shoots the overload error, but the fan is working fine, it does this even with the speakers unplugged, can you help me?
the voltage of the fan is 5 volts. the sa-gx550, sa-gx650 has an error sensing system that whenever the fan driver's circuit is malfunction it disconnects the speaker connection through its relay to protect the Integrated Circuit (IC) from overheating. disable the error sensing, remove the 5 transistor's (Q651-Q655) from the fan's driver circuit, the sound will not cut-off (google a service manual of sa-gx650, sa-gx550 for reference). have a separate power supply of 5 volts and connect it to the fan or you may add another fan on top of the heatsink to protect the IC from overheating.

I have a technics sa dx 930 When I turn it on it goes straight to overload. Without have any speaker connected. Fuses are good. What type of fan does it have. Is it a 12 volt dc brush or brushless fan.

The 4 transistors either end of the massive heat sink always go dry joint and they then can bring up OVERLOAD!
in some panasonic compos they show the "F61" error means no fan detected or faulty blower fan. anyway. nice vid. 👍

ya the older ones this model is h+ no markings class AA or mos on the amps

ME too, looking for this solution

Saludos

Do you know a good website or company to buy parts for technic receivers? Thanks man.
this is stupid because who in the world would put a protection. over a fan
Technics did. All technics amplifier have this bad idea.
@@electronicguest Technics amps are fine they have reasons for doing this.
